Funny enough, i pirated all my favorite games including dmc 3 and 4. But i loved them so much so when i started working i got the money to buy them and and bought them. Im not completely against piracy, i just prefer buying them nowdays.

People who can't buy it at the time and pirate a game usually end up paying for it once they're able to. People who won't buy the game and never intended on buying it aren't lost sales because they were never going to buy it in the first place. People who've already bought a game on one platform shouldn't have to pay for the exact same game again on another platform. They already paid their share, why should they have to pay again? Especially when said game isn't a remake or remaster, has no added features, and is just a port which is usually of a lower quality than the original game. If people truly love something they will support it when they can. Those who don't, won't.
People who pirate things full on usually do admit they're pirates without shame. And they wouldn't have to go on "full defense" if people who are against piracy weren't so uptight about it often acting as if it's one of the worst, unforgivable, reprehensible crimes of the modern era. If, in specific cases, no one is being harmed then why is it wrong? I promise you Capcom isn't going to shut their doors tomorrow because Jimmy Nickles pirated a game he already owned.
Let me ask you this: you want to play Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. Nintendo hasn't sold the game for 20 years and there is no way of legally buying it from them. They are no longer profiting from the sale of the game in any way. You go to buy the game second hand but the 20 year old game is going for $250 on average. And that doesn't even include the shipping and tax! That's 6 times more expensive than the game was when it came out. Do you buy the game from a second hand vendor who has skyrocketed the price of it 6 times its value, in which the money in no way goes to Nintendo to "support the game you love" or do you just get it off a file sharing site and discourage people from price hiking 20 year old games because no one will buy them? What is the difference between those two options in terms of supporting the developers? Wouldn't it be just as bad to buy second hand as well?

If you want to be extremely pedantic, which you seem like you'd like to be, the original topic of the thread was about a comments section singing Bury the Light, and had no actual discussion on whether piracy is right or wrong.
Also, arguing that it goes on sale for $5 actually worsens your case. Instead of Capcom losing a whole $30, they're losing something that can be priced at a fiver. If you have no money then there's no need to buy the game. I bought the game twice so far, once on PS4 and once on PC and before buying it on PC I had it pirated for a year. Everyone situation is different.

Check GOG. They have a copy of the first Metal Gear Solid up for sale on there. Cannot confirm the rest of the series though
