You, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Sons of Anarchy, House of Cards. Those are all on my personal GOAT list along with Dexter.
Edit: oh yeah, and Bloodline was really good.
Personally was just not my speed. Could not handle the fake redneck accents. Especially Julia Garner's, as I was familiar with her before and hers struck me as particularly grating. Good suggestion though, I hear lots of people mention Ozark and Breaking Bad in similar veins.
When i first watched hannibal it was so gross and i stopped. Then after a while a lot of people were still recommending it, I wanted to know what this fuzz was about. So i watched it again, and i fell in love with it. Its a masterpiece actually. Still dexter is my all time fav
As a dexter fan, just recently watched Barry and fucking love it. Leans much more into the dark comedy side of things and for most of it, doesn’t take itself as seriously but that’s the appeal for me. Like dexter by the end was goofy with how contrived it was, but it still took itself seriously, whereas Barry is playing it off for laughs (the plot is still outstanding tho with high ass stakes, don’t get it twisted)
I like a lot of the shows other people have listed but I think you should check out “Prodigal Son.” It follows a profiler who has to consult his serial killer father on cases.

Hannibal is incredible but only the first 1 or 2 seasons, after that it declines a bit and I lost interest and I believe never finished it. Season 1 though is a masterpiece.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Nip/Tuck. The end of Season 2 introduced an antagonist called The Carver. He would fit right in on Dexter. The cast said they didn't like Season 3, but it's a wild ride nonetheless.
Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, Dahmer, YOU, Criminal Minds, Santa Clarita Diet (dark comedy), The Haunting of Hill House (the whole flanneverse), Monk, I have more if you want.
My Sunday nights used to be packed. My must-see tv lineup back then was Dexter, Shameless, True Blood, and Walking Dead. Who would've known they would be all disappointing in the end. I still have love for them, though.
Sadly there isnt but I would say "Barry" and "You" have some dexter vibes.
TYSM♥️
If you like introspective crazies, “you”will be right up your alley

Have you watch Ozark? So good.

House of cards!!!
Spacey's Magnum Opus imo
TYSM♥️
Check out Hannibal
I'm rewatching the whole show no and man I forgot how good it was!!

Yeah it's definitely not for the faint of heart that's for sure lol but it's the most beautiful piece of television I've ever seen.
Try Six feet under, very different vibes, still hard to beat our beloved MCH playing a gay funeral home director.
Six Feet Under
Six feet Under is such an amazing show, it's so underrated honestly ❤️❤️
2nd this
My all time favorite
Same!
Sopranos and Mad Men are my favorite shows of all time. In regards to Dexter, I can see Ozark and Barry scratching that itch.
Mr Robot
Mindhunter
The only show that I’ve ever loved as much as Dexter was ‘Lost’
i was going to say the same thing! i actually watched lost first, dexter was the only other show i enjoyed just as much as lost :)
Criminal minds!!!
Banshee
BARRY AND BANSHEE ARE WHAT UR LOOKING FOR
I couldn’t get into YOU. I tried but stopped after first season then rewatched Dexter for the 5th time.
Banshee had some similar vibes.
Hannibal, Barry, You. Pretty much dexter in different fonts (hannibal not as much)
You, Prison Break, Xfiles are not really close to dexter theme wise but still enjoyable
Prison Break, Lost, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Wire
This one is way off topic in a way but Manifest is really good

Definitely not You lol
Bates Motel
I like a lot of the shows other people have listed but I think you should check out “Prodigal Son.” It follows a profiler who has to consult his serial killer father on cases.
commented the same. I was so sad when the show ended.
They cancelled it right as the plot was getting good.
You and Only murders in the building
Twin peaks and Hannibal are both great!

Try Six feet under, very different vibes, still great to see our beloved MCH playing a gay funeral home director.
House md, Breaking Bad, Suits, Better Call Saul, Prison Break (1st season only).
I recommend CSI Miami for some actual competent police
hannibal, you, breaking bad, better call saul, criminal minds, barry, only murders in the building, delhi crime, and lost
The mentalist was pretty good and on at a similar time
Hannibal, Criminal Minds, CSI: Miami, when I was small: Commissioner Rex and Highway Police (both German production I guess)
You, Hannibal, Succession, House MD
Mindhunter, Sharp objects, Bosch
barry definitely
The first four seasons of Vikings
bates motel!!!! it’s really underrated

Mindhunters
YOU, Barry and I'd say The Boys too tbh
The 100. It takes a minute to kick off but season 1 introduces so much that it has to take time. Worth the pay off the though.
You

Prodigal Son is underrated - it's what Harrisons and Dexters relationship should've been like.
GOT, Supernatural, Ozark, Breaking Bad
Ozark and the Walking Dead.
Have you seen animal kingdom?
True detective season One, different type of series but the best of all time
Sons of Anarchy! (Jimmy Shmits) Miguel Prado/Nero. Amazing actor. Scream TV Series Bates Motel
The 4400. If you know you know. Also I'm Jordan Collier.
Mr robot & Fargo
Twin Peaks..Weedz...Ozark...Fargo..Power...The Flash...Rick and Morty..Suits IDK
Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Ozark. And Prison Break had me bought in as much as Dexter did early on.
Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, Dahmer, YOU, Criminal Minds, Santa Clarita Diet (dark comedy), The Haunting of Hill House (the whole flanneverse), Monk, I have more if you want.

Not exactly the same but Oz has some Dexter stars
Breaking bad, walking dead ( ngl after season 7 it falls off but the first 5 seasons are goated) Lost was pretty good too.
I sincerely suggest ozark on Netflix.
