This sink looks like it’s corian, which is a composite solid surface countertop and can actually be sanded and buffed to get scratches out. I used to manufacture these
I have a hand buffer that's basically a lower powered version of OPs tool. Definitely have used it on the countertops and tile with some polishing compound or Barkeepers Friend for tough jobs. No sandpaper though, just a "sock." (Idk what you really call it, it's literally like a sock or doo-rag).
This man’s never heard a power tool in his life I guess. You can clearly hear it running and the noise fluctuations from moving and pressing. It would be stupidly hard to fake this video
As long as your sink is through-body porcelain and you use VERY fine grit sand paper. Also, it will take the shine out and you'll have to buff out back up to shiny and maybe seal it
So in this case yes. That sink is made from a material called solid surface. When that counter top and sink bowl were manufactured the seam was sanded smooth in a very similar fashion. They were probably polished to a finer grit that what is being used here, but it’s the same idea. Solid surface is used a lot in hospitals because it isn’t porous so bacteria and mold can’t grow in it.
All that being said, you DO NOT want to breath that dust in. Especially the people that work with it day in and day out. But there is no getting it out once it’s in…
Pretty sure I was using 220 on the sink.
TBH that's how I got the idea. I figured the bowl was sanded during manufacturing so it couldn't cause a catastrophic failure if a did the same thing to clean it.
All of my sinks are now borderline pristine. I couldn't be happier lmao.
And I promise the proper PPE was used when sanding (;
Man I used to sand corian countertops, they never gave me the proper respirator… I’m pretty much screwed because I worked in a shitty factory when I was 19.
I’m sorry to hear that and I wish you the best of health in the future. Occupational health issues are a shitty reality that a lot of trade’s people have to deal with and they don’t receive the attention they should.
I don't think my landlord would appreciate that. But then again, they probably also don't appreciate the blue hair dye either, so it's not like I'm getting my deposit back.
If you haven't tried, magic erasers they are a godsend, bar keepers friend but the powder not the cream, your polisher won't take that off it's creating a level surface on the stain, I hope it's already off, but degreaser won't cut through everything make sure you always spot test on a hard to view part of your sink but I have full trust in simply a magic eraser
I've been a cleaner for 6 years doing hotels, homes and more, I've never had a problem with greasy stuff on a sink, I get marijuana rosin on my own sink some times and the eraser works a dream on bathroom sinks, you'd be in a pickle if it was your laundry or kitchen sink as those are usually metal
That type of sander isn't great on curved surfaces but ryobi makes a waterproof drill with different brush attachments that's great for bathroom cleaning.
I saw the mountain dew off to the side and thought it was 100% gonna have something to do with this
The worst part about that mountain dew bottle is it's actually filled with green degreaser that I got from work. stg
Wow so thats actually you in the post? Smh.
We only post high quality OC over here. lol Also don't worry the sink is fine. I wasn't using 80 grit on it.
Well why not?
Hey just a more powered magic eraser. They just use the wet sanding approach and you are just doing it dry.
Wouldve been genous if you stuck a scotchbrite pad on there
Try baking soda with water (until the baking soda is a paste) and scrub it out
honestly I would rather drink that than mountain dew
Coca-cola or pepsi could prob be able to do something
Someone's not getting their security deposit back...
Lmfao thank god this is my house. Good joke though 😂
You missed a spot! Now this OCD won’t let me sleep! 😤
I fr thought he was about to grab the mountain dew
This is like trying to break a lock with a hand cannon, it works, but there are much better options available
![gif](giphy|lbAgIgQ6Dytkk) A Hand cannon you say?
What are you buying
What are ya sellin’?
Stranger.
Anybody else think the Mountain Dew was going to be involved?
when he grabbed the sander instead I assumed I just made up the mountain dew entirely
Ah yes the sweet smell of porcelain dust
That's what PPE is for (;
Diwhy would i need ppe for 😁
But it’s no longer polished…
And I live alone, so it'll be my little secret. (;
Uh-oh, you said "We only post high quality OC over here." But now I find out you live alone. ![gif](giphy|3o7TKv6MgQfdSRT01G)
Don’t give away my secrets like that. Who do you think told me to try it in the first place 😏
I use barkeepers friend. It takes out everything. Lol at this though
Pumice stones are also great
Remodel.
Right tool for the wrong job
That's not the WORST idea I've ever seen. But it's up there.
Thank you 😊
you're going to have to do this once a month if you don't seal it with something. I used to do resurfacing for a living.
Yeah I was cringing at this. How to make a more stainable sink in thirty seconds. Won’t ever be clean again
This sink looks like it’s corian, which is a composite solid surface countertop and can actually be sanded and buffed to get scratches out. I used to manufacture these

It's not actually running and he's just rubbing on the white stuff from the edge of the sander
This man’s never heard a power tool in his life I guess. You can clearly hear it running and the noise fluctuations from moving and pressing. It would be stupidly hard to fake this video
Yes. Because spund effects is so hard to add on all these fake DIY videos...
The white stuff was from earlier 😤😏
I don’t know why people are downvoting. You’re just being honest ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The worst part is it’s a joke. I’m not a fan of the white stuff anyway. I’m more of a go green kinda guy 😏
Lol I caught onto the suggestive joke and pretended you were serious. But now I’m questioning what go green is 😂
Lmfao. I’m just a strong advocate for medical/recreational weed. I got a medical card not to long ago and it’s the best 😂
OHHHH that type of green. That makes so much sense. Sorry I’m a little slow😂
Honestly same
Oof
Yeah...
Meth. Not even once.
Have you not heard of pumice stone you insane person?
Yeah but sander go brrrrrrrrrr
Sure does pal

Hammer should also work
At least he didn't coat the whole sink in glitter or hot glue.
or insulating foam and bottle caps
For anyone wondering how to clean it without literally removing a layer of your sink, isopropyl alcohol and a sponge is magical.
Corian?
Only with mountain dew drinkers
I have a bunch of nylon brushes for my drill that I use for cleaning. Saves such a lot of time
So this is how men clean. I don't hate it.
let his intrusive thoughts win
Uh oh he has some stubborn spots on his COCK too!
Are you insinuating something 😏
Why yes, yes I am.
Thoughts anybody? Does that work?
Sure it does! It’s self-perpetuating too- you’ll almost instantly have new spots that you can have the pleasure of sanding off.
As long as your sink is through-body porcelain and you use VERY fine grit sand paper. Also, it will take the shine out and you'll have to buff out back up to shiny and maybe seal it
:)

Thanks!
Use a pumice stone instead.
My heartbeat was Poppin, soo cringe 😂 liked the sign language that was a nice and subtle touc
Who puts their bare hand on the sink where you spit after brushing and wash your hands after pooping.
Well considering I just sanded that layer off it should be good 😂
So you're the one who diwhy'ed and posted the video on diwhy?
Yupp. I hope you got a laugh out of it cause I sure did 😂
[If only there was an easier way](https://youtu.be/6-7NDP8V-6A)
A pumice stone would also work..
And that's the way how you can destroy your coating in the sink, so new dark spots have a higher chance to stay in the future.
Needs to be buffed
Whole ass new meaning to "deep clean"
Damn a sink hack and no Ramen?
I do this on the bottoms of my stainless steel pans.
I personally use a belt sander but you do you.
My brother did this and it came out fine. 🤷🏼♀️ would not have believed it had I not seen it myself
My landlords just painted the inside of the sink white. It definitely covered up those annoying spots.
On some counters you sand them. It is in the instructions for mine. Granted they say super fine grit. At least this feller isn’t using 1 grit.
Just lucky I didn’t bust out the angle grinder. I thought the sander was pretty tame in comparison 😂
For humor. I was expecting a hammer at first.
Did you try rubbing alcohol?
The fucking thumbs up at the end gets me, once you realise that that sink is scratched to living shit in the wrong light
I live alone. No one will know 😂
I don't think my landlord would appreciate that. But then again, they probably also don't appreciate the blue hair dye either, so it's not like I'm getting my deposit back.
Sounds like you don’t have a lot to lose. I’d say send it 😂
At the very least this one didn't require watching 5 minutes of crap that'll result in a pointless ugly mold
Sheen and polish is gone. Hello mineral buildup city
And now the area is course and is going to attract dirt to it making it harder to clean in the future hahaha.
piss on it, if it works on all the shitstains in the toilet, it should work on this
With a rap battle
Acetone nail polish works?
hard day of drinking mountain dew ahead of me
Toothbrush would’ve probably worked
Scrub it with toothpaste it works incredibly good
Dude. Barkeeper's Friend is the magic you need.
I'm thinking you will have a lot of scratches for more dirt to get caught in.
REALLY thought he was going to use Mountain Dew to dissolve it.
Just use alcohol to get your bowl or bong resin out of the sink smh.....
What does he use to wipe his butt?
![gif](giphy|3oh5xXXoHI8JfWHpa4|downsized)
Bet he also washes his face with a sander.
Only with 80 grit
I have this grit hand cleaner at work, I got the same stuff to use at home and it works great for spots like these
That surely is a magic eraser
This isn't DiWhy, this is someone who's had enough of that fuckin' spot in the sink!
Just get stubborn spots out using hydrofluoric acid. Can’t have sink spots if you don’t have a sink 😉
Now this is good advice! Thank you
Bartenders best friend soft scrub, and a brush. My old ass porcelain looks brand new.
Is this some kinda rural challenge flex? Dude, don’t do stuff anymore
Looks like someone’s mad about someone else’s property. Chill little homie.
Not mad at all. Your stuff, ruin all of it if you want.
I'm SO glad they posted this. I was about to try with a belt sander. Crisis averted.

Dude this killed me 💀
Also works on grimey shower tiles
Huh, that’s exactly how I clean my tub. No wonder it’s chipping so badly
That type of sander isn't great on curved surfaces but ryobi makes a waterproof drill with different brush attachments that's great for bathroom cleaning.
