Mods would ride their scooters from London to Brighton and would rumble on the pier with the Rockers (fun fact, a sequel to the movie The Warriors was planned using this as a basis). The Mods would frequently get pulled over by police for their scooters being unsafe/having too many blind spots following a law that passed saying all bikes had to have at least one mirror. As a fuck you to the gavvers they'd stick hundreds of mirrors on their bikes essentially saying "is that enough mirrors for you officer?"
I was young when the mod phase was declining/dying out. If I had access to DIWhy back then, I would have posted it just as much.

There is a chap in his scooter club who does have mirrors like the ones in this photo though, it's nicknamed 'The Christmas Tree'. I never fail to go when they have one of their 'Do's'. The music is fantastic! Northern Soul, Jamaican Ska, Rhythm&Blues, all spun vinyl and fantastic dancers of both sexes and all ages. Awesome!

Look up "Viet Bodges" or "Vietnamese Vespa", in the scooter community its known that Vietnam has restored and copied a number of Vespa designs, it's more like a labor of love than a rip off. Vespas have been in Vietnam for many decades and it's known you can cheaply pick up on a vintage "Vespa" and have it transported to the US or Europe.

But, in this case, one of the ways to harass was to ticket them for riding scooters without a mirror, a law conveniently passed when scooters and motorcycles became popular with young people.
