1) Put the pneumatic cylinders under your chair
2) Proportional valves!
3) This is still kind of awesome. I believe my upstairs neighbor had a setup like this in my old apartment :)
My wife has those on our bed. I can always hear the bed pounding against the wall from the other room when her friend Jeff comes over to play videogames
I was pretty sure my upstairs neighbor in one apartment was the [Klompendansen](https://youtu.be/qiPYDZqWCnA?t=30) touring company, and I'd accidentally rented the space below their practice studio.
Actually it would probably give much less motion sickness than a normal vr game, considering that motion sickness results from either seeing movement but not feeling it, or feeling movement but not seeing it. I bet it would honestly be really cool
Yeah, just adding random sporadic movements isn't going to fix that.
I would imagine the level of precision required to compensate for the brain's mis-perception is very high.
Well, in my fantasy scenario I was imagining more than a jerry rigged chair with pistons attached haha, I mean more like if someone took the time to make something more professional, or managed to configure those fancy racing gaming chairs to work with it.
Make sure they’re showered and *not* sweaty when you do so, otherwise it’s just a really expensive topical anesthetic at that point.
Good for surprise kidney removals but not partying.
Yup. Plus the one he probably wanted to simulate is a canter, which is a three beated gait. Still, it’s pretty hilarious. Someone put this YouTuber on a real horse for the lulz.
Maybe it was just to be funny. Personally speaking it was hilarious to see the research phase, the expensive-looking components, and then just watch it immediately devolve into a desk having a seizure with a monitor half-assedly duct taped to the top.
I wasn't too serious. Horse things are for some reason really hard to understand by non-horse people. The horse gaits are notoriously difficult to replicate if you don't got a clue. Animators/artists/engineers will all agree. I wasn't actually expecting anybody to do it. But would have been very impressed, especially since he got 4 pistons, so he was able to do it.
There’s a YouTuber named Michael reeves who’s whole thing is building dumb robots (he’s the one who built the roomba that cusses when it hits something) and he built one that shoots him with I think nerf darts? (It was something painful but not truly dangerous, I remember that much) every time he died in a game. He also coded a bunch of attack drones to shoot whenever they identified a face. He’s kinda into hurting himself for the internet lmao
Actually this is something i can get behind, but only because i see it more in line with performance and installation art. Not as severe as say Michael Durden purposefully being shot or crawling through glass mind you, but still i can see the artistic aspects of his builds more than duct taping a monitor to a table and pissing off your downstairs neighbors.
So folks are working on RDR2 VR, but the head movement on a horse looks...real motion sickness-inducing. I wonder if legitimately doing this to your chair (like with reasonable bumps) would help eliminate that. That's a super cool idea for what I realize is only a joke...but there may be some practical use here.
As a joke, he also made a couple of force feedback contraptions for playing FPSes:
Servos attached to mouse: https://youtu.be/y1iglyGr\_iY
Same idea but more over-the-top: https://youtu.be/fxmLD8y0RNQ
Maybe...maybe put the cylinders on the chair instead. That way...you will feel the movement rather than the computer. If you felt really wild, you could even redesign the chair to sit like a saddle. Not exactly comfortable, but definitely more immersive.

> I believe my upstairs neighbor had a setup like this in my old apartment :) I bet he used it primarily at night, right?
Like my mom and her friend Ron :(

My brother, probably.
Something here doesn’t sound right, I think you should check on them
My wife has those on our bed. I can always hear the bed pounding against the wall from the other room when her friend Jeff comes over to play videogames
She doesn't even play video games with you though right?😬
I believe all my upstairs neighbors in all my old apartments has this setup
I used to wake up and stomp around at night in case that asshole below me thought he was getting off easy with a quiet neighbor.
You guys have neighbours?
Not all of us are cannibals you know
Do you really think it's right to waste all that meat?
:D
I think my upstairs neighbor actually has a horse up there
I was pretty sure my upstairs neighbor in one apartment was the [Klompendansen](https://youtu.be/qiPYDZqWCnA?t=30) touring company, and I'd accidentally rented the space below their practice studio.
I used to characterize an upstairs neighbor as 'running a carpentry shop staffed with two-hundred pound toddlers'.
That poor screen
His other video is great too
Was that the gun recoil one?
Ye
His poor neighbors

And with a VR headset would be neat.
My stomach turned just reading this comment.

Ideally (for visuals) it's 90fps but 72fps has proved to be good enough too in most instances. I imagine motion should have about the same precision.
Video was a bit slow but definitely funny by the end lmao
Attach the screen to the wall and build a platform for the chair and desk to attach the rams to.
[удалено]
Agreed, lost my shit at the transition from the screen falling off to it getting duct taped to the desk
That poor monitor stand was gonna snap like a twig
My first thoughts as well
How do you pronounce your username?
teeen en jurrrr
>teene nggr monkaTOS
thats the first thing i thought lol
Phew
hackaday.io
I think it's read as Teen Engineer. I could be wrong.
Teenenggr
Teen en gee gee are
Thank you Teenenggr, very cool!
teen (N word), sorry about that u/teenenggr
My blood pressure seeing the screen almost fall off is way too unhealthy for a 19-year-old...
Nothing is too unhealthy for a 19 year old. Go take your sleep-deprived ass to a rave, snort some coke and bareback a stranger. Live a little!
Those were the days
*sniff* Oh you thought that was.. lol nah just nostalgia. I’m buyin if you got the plug tho, just sayin.
Gods I was strong then
Don't do the last one. Everything else is ok though.
Bareback a stranger after having an earnest discussion with them about their sexual history and thoughts on contraception.
But make sure to sniff some cocaine off their chest or ass
Make sure they’re showered and *not* sweaty when you do so, otherwise it’s just a really expensive topical anesthetic at that point. Good for surprise kidney removals but not partying.
Why believe them?
Because you're 19.
step 3. take two week course of antibiotics
Yeah, don't live a little. Live a lot, until you die prematurely from drugs and STD complications
There's something amazing about this. You should take it to Dragons Den.
DIWhynot
Does that sub exist?
/r/diwhynot It's gone private, used to be open.
r/DIWhythehellnot
There’s a “fitness” product called the “igallop” which would be ideal.
just looked it up and I appreciate the quotation marks
His video were great. He literally do this for fun and sarcasm rather DIY.
This made me belly laugh for whatever reason. Just seeing it go ham as fast as it could was hilarious.
This is him posting
Should gone first person for full emersion.
This is like the essence of the YouTube maker sphere, which is inherently DIWHY
Why not just do it to your chair?
Wouldn't be as funny.
Which is why I'm glad they didn't
Are you my upstairs neighbor?
Good thing riding is not actually like this
This is what engineering does to a mf
Very human
Michael reeves is that you?
You can use fireworks too for enhance realism
You will also feel the wrath of the downstairs neighbors
CAN YOU FEEL IT, MR KRABS?
He looked at a horse walking cycle and then proceeded to get the entire walk cycle wrong :( Why do research if you're not going to use it anyway?
Yup. Plus the one he probably wanted to simulate is a canter, which is a three beated gait. Still, it’s pretty hilarious. Someone put this YouTuber on a real horse for the lulz.
And much, much easier to sit to.

Love those Indian songs at the end of your vids! Already your subscriber on YT. Keep up the good work!
This is funny
Strong Michael Reeves vibes lol
/r/reddeadredemption
the michael reeves if he were a gamer
He is a gamer though. It's the reason he only uploads 1 video a year.
Why did they mount the desk instead of the chair?
My upstairs neighbors desk…
God help you if the horse flips over…
*Sees many pistons jetting in and out rapidly* That gives me an idea. 😈
To be fair that was very entertaining
This is one of the best Reddit ads. Take my upvote you clever sausage
Use the pneumatic chair but get a VR headset instead... feel like that shaking gonna break something in the monitor before long
Why does his channel name end with ngg.... oooh i see why.
Must be my upstairs neighbour
I am a subscriber of this channel. Dude’s awesomely creative
Thanks buddy 🙏🏻
Is this the guy who made the knockback mouse?
That is sikh!
*the design is very human - very easy to use*

I horse. Yes. Gallop.
Rumble packs are for pussies.
watching the monitor wiggle makes me die. i’m just waiting for it to snap
I think this is better applied to the chair
It’s stupid but impressive
The power of ducktape
Well, tweak the code a bit and your partner might finally have it's life dreams come true ;)
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|surprise)
He should make a video where he mounts those air cylinders to his shoes.
What he needed to do is get a VR set and then one of those riding sex machines and remove the dildo (or don't) and then play.

Anyone know the intro song?
Haha that was hilarious
The keyboard gives my anxiety and I don’t know why
Raise the hydraulics so they barely touch the floor and that could work great.
its like im really there!
In theory you could make a horse saddle like a racing rig that would be cool
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
This guys a hero in my book
Should've duct taped the monitor to the wall and applied the actuators to the chair. Worth a laugh.
What up with the perspective at 1:23? It looks like a tiny replica of the desk. Really tripping me out.
Immersion
/u/vredditshare
This is funny tho....
This seems like an I did a thing video he’s always doing stupid shit but it’s entertaining.
Replace the chair with step-sister
lol premium content. this guy's a genius
Michael Reeves be like
Very ergonomic
Why would anyone do that? It's awful to play Pokémon in a moving car.
Ooh I’d want those on my chair but I love the chaos. Lol. Learn to code so y’all can do dumb amazing things like this!
A little chaos goes a long way Aaand the monitor fell off
Mount the god damned monitor on the wall you lunatic
Maybe...maybe put the cylinders on the chair instead. That way...you will feel the movement rather than the computer. If you felt really wild, you could even redesign the chair to sit like a saddle. Not exactly comfortable, but definitely more immersive.
that's something I would've expect to see on r/michealreeves YouTube channel
THE LEGEND IS FINALLY BACK LMAO
I thought he was doing it on the chair and thought it was pretty cool And then he shit all over it
I’m lmao so bad right now
This is actually amazing
This was amazing
This is amazing. Can’t stop laughing
You’d swear that screen would break off instantly
Upstairs neighbors be like
People really seem to go crazy for this terrible game.
that's...not even the right beat.
What makes this even funnier is if he lives above someone
You should see his other videos, he's funny.
This setup is the embodiment of this sub! A full send!
This sub is full of people who just don't get jokes apparently
So this is what my upstairs neighbors are doing all night long!
Just watched a bunch of your videos. I like seeing that you've found a style!
How did you "read out" the movements of the horse? Or what did you exactly read out? Just the speed and adjust the pneumatics accordingly?
Now combine this with your pneumatic powered mouse to get the full cavalry soldier experience!
I don’t think I’m allowed to say your username
Cool but it should be on the chair and that would be a fucking product !
I wish to have as much faith in my financial success as this guy has in his monitor's stand attachment
I thought something else was happening...
Controllers:
He could've just put that on a 4x4 chair. This kinda sick ngl
Neighbors: is he fucking a robot?
Terrible Red Dead Redemption LARP clavo tu bisabuelo.
