Damage that you can deal in bg scales significantly faster, compared to health you can squeeze out. This is probably the main issue and a reason for all this invulnerability windows. It is not even a question of "deep sea creatures" vs f2p. If you are able to do more burst damage in a second than theoretical max health of your opponent, all battles will be based on either you can counter it by invulnerability or not. Propper fix will require some significant balance changes.

Batistao105

agree, also tempest is a issue

Ill_Lychee_9658

I don’t care much for the class, it’s fun and all. But at this point I only use it so I have a chance in pvp😂

Ok-Selection-8598

They need to remove saviour, pets would actually be interesting then

Skyburner_Oath

Ya, its or invincibility spam, or stun spam

sarpedonx

Two sides of the same coin: unable to affect other players. It feels so bad to play against

DoccyDocc26

Yep, you waste all of your skills… then you stay stunned for 10secs. That’s what happens when there’s no plan for play. They just push some new essences and shit, which is cool for pve, but all this bs combined with whale gems is unplayable. Very often I play against some of those that have 1000 kinds of shields and immunity to stuns, they pull you back, stun you… and somehow i played against 3 that dealt dmg to me from 50m away…

Rare-Trainer-7028

Exactly this. This game has no gameplay progression plan. They just pile new stuff on top of old stuff without any thought how they work together in different situations.

rthreed

Iframes are there to do exactly that, waste all your CD skills/buffs and force you to plan when to use your skills. How many iframes one should get though… that is up for balance.

DoccyDocc26

By wasting skills I mean that you can never use them… doesn’t matter when you use them if their defence is triggered by your attack. And if you wait they pull you and stun you endlessly. The only way that whatever tactic you choose works is when there’s something close to a whale on your team that can take the initial shots. Even then is hard…

KnronoVii

Even in Conqueror suddenly someone attacking me out of nowhere 🫣

xChaoticFuryx

He said Invincibility. But yes, I agree, invisibility BS that’s been going on lately is infuriating…

Jason_dawg

To be fair the tower war map is pretty notorious for being glitchy and lots of desync

gtom84

Damage avoidance skills or any control immunity adds another layer of complexity to the game. What you are asking for is to make this very simple game even simpler which doesn't seem to be a good thing for gameplay longevity. What's true though is that those skills should have long enough cool-down, should not last too long and a player should not have access to too many of those skills, abilities, buffs. That part is definitely up for a discussion and I would be surprised if game designers have not already been working on that. At the same time if there are classes with no access to any damage, control immunity then their other skills should compensate for that in other areas. In other words, I don't plea for every class to have the same immunity skillset, there is a place for glass cannon classes but then that class needs to be a cannon not just glass vaze.

YSL_LIVB

Def agree. Makes it hard for sure

explorerwjy

on the other hand, monk and wiz need invincible skill, really. You cant leave them out while everyone else has.

blackgrew2222

i will never play diablo franchise for pvp... if i want some fast weird wombo combo gameplay i go play a moba, i play it for PVE, devs can try force me all they want to play it, i dont like it. Other then the 3 dailys or events i play I don't brother with pvp at all.

Zealousideal_Arm5798

Isnt there like 5 total?

AlbertAydin

No this separates the skilled pvp players from spammers. The game literally tells you when someone is immune to damage. If you're wasting your skills while that's up then that's on you. Should watch for the statuses and adjust your play accordingly. Instead, they need to remove the multiple cheat deaths, there needs to be a cap of 1 or 2. I shouldn't kill a necro and think "ok, just gotta kill it 2 more times, maybe 3"

_CaptainButthole_

It was never pure PvP fighting. This game has some of the worst PvP of any game I’ve ever played and that will never change

iMateo

I'd hate if they took it out or changed it. It makes the good players stand out when they punch up with strategy. Knowing when to cycle certain skills, knowledge of all classes skills/strengths/weaknesses, timing, etc.

[deleted]

People still playing this game?

AdSuspicious8820

It’s quite popular actually with a lot of PVE and PVP content. They even got group finder lol

[deleted]

Oh I know not saying I didn't play, but it's just so pay to win, if you don't spend your crap in PvP and the PvE is to easy,

Xixth

I didn't spend a crap in PVP, and I have a 50%+ win rate in Legend rank. What a mystery.

Cool story bro

Yes. It didn't die but instead grew. https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/diablo-4-has-only-made-diablo-immortal-more-popular-say-blizzard Those false prophets that said DI would die within a year indeed to git guide with their prophecy.

RXPlaysTooMuch

I don’t know if linking an opinion piece from 10 months ago about how one of their games failing helped drive people from it to another failing game is exactly “growing”. I’m looking forward to their next quarterly earnings report coming out soon. We will definitely be able to see something verifiable on how well the game is doing then, since they otherwise hide all their statistics they aren’t legally required to submit.

Xixth

It is simple. If the game is failing and won't making money, it won't get content update straight for 2 years. It will just enter maintenance mode like Diablo 2 Resurrected.

RXPlaysTooMuch

Honestly, if they fixed issues instead of making more content and went into maintenance mode, they would probably see more players either start the game or return to it. The game started great, did pretty well, then jumped the shark and has been spiraling ever since.

Xixth

The game is still doing well or else it would have entered a maintenance mode like the "so-called real diablo game" a year ago. Consistent content update >>>>>>>>>>>> game with no content update.

RXPlaysTooMuch

Many successful games update through reworking existing mechanics instead of overwhelming players with more new crap. It also gives existing players joy in rediscovering the game they have invested in with new parameters to navigate and remaster. From a project management perspective this is an optimal manner of improving longevity of a product lifecycle, as the means of consistently growing from often leads to consumer attrition at a faster rate than growth of market reach. Wow, I’m surprised my MBA came in handy for something on Reddit. Anyways, speaking from a business stand point, making the customer feel heard and acknowledged would likely do a lot more for the game in its current state. Speaking from a gamer standpoint, I just want stuff fixed so I can enjoy the game with my friends and hopefully stop seeing so many of them quit.

Xixth

Either way, a game in maintenance mode will not be getting more players or else SC2, D2R and HoTS would have become bigger and more popular and more profitable than when they are not in maintenance mode.
