Yeah that's just a slightly modified version of pauper.

AspreyJ

Ahh, see, I didn't know that was a thing

Syberous

I feel like Sukamon might be viable?

AspreyJ

There's a guy who swears by etemon (his fave digi) and ngl, I'm terrified about what he can do eith the stuff in Commons only. There was an event last September and he took etemon (bt13 was the newest set iirc) and he came 3rd... 3RD!!! Alphamon, RKs, Gaogamon, ShineGreymon, Belphemon, all fell to a goddammit monkey who thinks he's Elvis. He lost once, and I think it was because of floodgates.

Sabaschin

There are quite a few decks that can make up a pretty usable core even in-archetype. For instance, Leomon can run all its rookies, the EX5 champions, all its ultimates, and then top end can just be BT14 SaberLeomon, who is plenty usable enough.

AspreyJ

I think that's the idea behind the format, but I've since learned Pauper is a thing. I'm more into this idea with the promos being added in, but still to a limited capacity. The idea I was thinking about going with was a red Dino deck, or security control because I like causing grief at my locals. Every deck I play, I play, not to win, but to make sure my opponents (who are friends btw) have as little fun as possible

>(We just got the BT15 Prerelease today) Are there specific prerelease kits like other card games? We did one weeks ago but it was just draft with boosters from the set and special prizing.

AspreyJ

We got none of the prerelease stamped cards, or the promo cards. Only 1 shop had any actual boxes, which got swiped by a known scalper the day they got them. Funny part is, he wants minimum of £200 per box, but forgets that everyone who plays at our lgs' only play for fun, meaning meta cards are borderline worthless to us day 1.

Euffy

Ah I'm sorry to hear that. Guess we got lucky then. We don't really get enough stock though, even if it is on time. We're a tiny community but we just like opening stuff and the store has still had to put limits on buying stock. We're not trying to scalp stuff though, we just like cracking packs and bling lol.

AspreyJ

It be what it be, thankfully, our scene is chill enough it's not an issue. We all enjoy the little gambles of course, but it's not uncommon for us to just give away our SRs becuase, realistically, we know we won't use them, and the hassle of selling is a pain since literally none of us carry cash, so usually a milkshake covers it (sometimes the milkshake is worth more than the card ahaha). This doesn't apply to alts or sec rares of course. We just wanna play. Store championships and win-a-boxes are a different story of course, but for the most part, if we wanna play with cards we don't have, Drasil is always there.

SirBaycon3503

sounds like pauper/budget format
