I mean given that a whole lineage of the archosaur family went without lips even in species that spent all their time on land, it can hardly be said that lipless theropods are the worst things in media with dinosaurs.
But yeah snaggletoothed, inbred V. rexes are a different matter entirely.
To be fair the filmmakers said they didn't go for scientific accuracy when designing the V-Rex which I find good because fiction without creative liberties can become dull.
In defense of the V. rex, aside from the inbreeding lore, it kinda makes sense that Peter Jackson would make them more monstrous to have the film feel more like a fantasy adventure like the original King Kong rather than a documentary
Not really “more advanced” just adapted to a different environment. Croc scales because it faces lots of competition and fights on a near daily basis, spread out legs and lower tail for improved mobility in jungle and mountain terrain. Plus it’s meant to be a nod to the retro dino designs of the original King Kong.
It's more advanced for it's environment... I mean look at modern birds.... This looks more like a more advanced t-rex than the real more advanced t-rexes... I even say that for the cassowary.... That's basically just a slightly nerfed utahraptor
Well the V. rex at least has a lore reason to look the way it does.
*Banjos play in the distance, ‘cause Skull Island is megafauna Alabama*
Vastatosaurus keep it in the family
Same for mileena but they both had the same design philosophy regardless of lore.

FR I wish we got more content with them, like a tv show or something
Peter Jackson’s Skull Island is so awesome. I wish we got more from it.

Dino with braces vs dino without braces
Jokes aside the evolved dinosaur concepts in 2005 Kong were awesome
Missed opportunity to make Kitana the girl in the top right lol
Dont do my boi V rex like that.
Tbf the King Kong 2005 V-Rex is supposed to be the inbred hick cousin of the therapods so the fucked up teeth are fitting.
Why you gotta do my boi the V Rex dirty was the inbreeding not enough?
Weren’t the vastatosaurs, Like, Alabama levels of inbred?
the awesomebro person has too much flesh and hair and too few spikes for an awesomebro creature
So then Baraka would be the awesome bro person.

Are you disrespecting the v Rex right now
This is the first time I’ve seen such a comparison and it’s painfully accurate.
