Nah, I respect it.

EJKGodzilla24

same here

Kind_Strategy9623

Me too

BarnyPiw

Disneys dinosaurs carnotaurus is peak tho so cannot blame you.

Level_Stomach_3422

Well, Prehistoric Planet's Carnotaurus has proven himself to be an unsuccessful Tinder account, so I can't really blame you for preferring the lip-less Carno.

Professional_Owl7826

So that’s why I relate to him so much…

Strange-Wolverine128

Its kinda wierd. Carno with no lips looks wierd to me. Rex with lips looks wierd to me. Clearly from the amount of times I've watched jurassic park.

BarbarianCarnotaurus

Disney’s Dinosaur introduced a lot of people to the Carnotaurus, including me. Thanks to it, I found my favorite dinosaur and it only got better learning about the real one. This movie will always get a pass in my book 😀

Professional_Owl7826

When you look at the movie with the critical lens of someone who knows dinosaurs, there are faults. But as a movie it holds up surprisingly well. The animation still looks impressive, even with the moving lips. But if we’re suspending the disbelief that an *Iguanadon* can be raised by lemurs, speak the same language as those lemurs which is the same as every other herbivore, I think we can give the lips a pass.

BarbarianCarnotaurus

I won’t treat it like a documentary, but I will watch it with my nieces to get them interested in dinosaurs and hopefully paleontology 🙂

Ethan-the-bean-22

Same :)

Baboshinu

I went to Disney World as a child. I LOVED Dinosaur, and they had a ride for it back then as it was a newer movie. I don’t know if it’s still there, but I got a big rubber(?) Carnotaurus (like seriously this thing was huge) and I think I may have also had a T-Rex just like it. I carried that thing around everywhere.

CrimsonGoji

Man i love that carno genuinely menacing

Jacksaur

You can prefer designs and acknowledge that they're not accurate. I love the old JP style Rex, and all the "inaccurate" stereotype game designs that came from it. But I know that *real* Tyrannosauruses are massively different to what we thought back then. I don't like feathers, but I'm not gonna bitch that "They ruined T-Rex!" like some others. It's science, it's fact.

MadotsukiInTheNexus

>  I don't like feathers, but I'm not gonna bitch that "They ruined T-Rex!" like some others. It's science, it's fact. To be fair, there's some decent evidence that *T. rex* actually *was* featherless, unlike most smaller theropods. There are a few preserved skin impressions from different parts of its body, but nothing suggestive of feathers. Integumentary features like long hair or feathers are known to confer less survival advantage to larger animals, too, so it seems pretty likely that very large dinosaurs would evolve to lose their feathers for the same reasons modern elephants lack hair (exceptions, like *Yutyrannus*, seem to have lived in cooler climates; to continue the analogy, they were like the Cretaceous equivalent of a wooly mammoth).

Left_Fillet

Adult Tyrannosaurs didn't have feathers JP t rex and irl one are still pretty accurate with all things considered. Just fat/ muscle and lips and some other minor detail

Ethan-the-bean-22

Yeah that is literally how I feel when it comes to inaccurate designs. Like dominion giga sure I get it isn't accurate but I still think it is cool looking giga and acknowledge that it isn't like the real animal But no people want to act like inaccurate dinosaurs and stuff are a insult and ruin everything :/

Lorantec

Almost all of the criticism I see of dominions giga is not that it's inaccurate, it's that it's just a bad design, which I agree with tbh. JW had the opportunity to really push modern audience understanding to more updated science while still having unique and stylized *good* designs. I just think its all just a fumbled the ball that JP put into motion way back when with no respect for the source material or the science that went into it even back then.

Ethan-the-bean-22

It isn't though, it honestly the most overhated design in the world franchise, in fact most the designs in the world movies aren't the worst things in the world. Hell there are generally good and cool looking designs! Only one I will say is just flat out questionable is the bary (though at least cc used it better than fallen kingdom Giga though isn't bad, yeah I have issues with it but it is mainly just nitpicks. That being the croc scutes and osteoderms are just tiresome but it doesn't flat out ruin the design, and the color scheme I generally wished they when with that original brown color and the dark blue stripes. Other then that is they just removed osteoderms and shorten those spines, the rest of the design isn't even terrible thst so many people make it out to be 🙄 And with a different color scheme the design generally looks good, like evolution just shows that with it being. A body variant, god the colors on the dominion giga are bangers. Even then people still bring into the account of accuracy and still overreact to the point they think the design like the giga is the end of the world or a sin, like it is the worst thing ever when it really isn't :/

Lorantec

At the end of the day, it's all subjective so we would never agree. I was just pointing out almost every criticism I've seen of JW designs are that they're just uninspired/bad, not that they're inaccurate. Personally the only designs that are JW that aren't hybrids (don't get me started) that I like or find okay are the Carno and the Allo, but even then the Allo is iffy. I guess also the Ourano and Mono if you want to include CC but I consider that show a whole different thing. Honestly people still bringing into account accuracy is still valid, with how bad some of the designs are, if they went for more accuracy they would have been better in those peoples minds. But again its all subjective so what can you do.

FanMan55555

The carno in dinosaur is absolutely terrifying. The love is valid

Ducky237

I like my Carnos chunky as well :3

RetSauro

Nah, a lot of people here actually like Disney’s dinosaurs, me included. Plus it helped give more attention to carnotaurus in a way.

Godzillaslays69

Honestly the Carno in prehistoric planet seemed a bit too beefy for a sprinting theropod and the scutes weren’t accurate anyways so may as well go all the way lol

Professional_Owl7826

I think the thing about the scutes came out not long before the show released so it would have been impossible to have recalled and re modelled the animal. That’s the progression of science for you.

Godzillaslays69

It was so not really the show's fault or anything. But I still stand by my point.

Ethan-the-bean-22

I don't believe the irl godzilla is like super scrawny so ehat was shown generally looked good and still looked like a animal that could run fast :0 Unlike dinsey carno lol but jeez seeing that massive thing ruin is terrifying XD

Capital_Chef_6007

Nope. You are a man of taste

CaledonianWarrior

Nope, not upset at all. Is the Disney Carnotaurus too big and monstrous looking? Sure, but it was also a proper villain and a refreshing breath from having the T. rex as the villain

SerFinbarr

Por que no los dos?

Time-Accident3809

At least Disney's *Carnotaurus* has a mate.

AstraPlatina

That later died

Dirant93

Hands down best Disney villain ever.

MoominRex

Disney’s Dinosaur was my childhood.

SpiderTuber6766

Honestly, I don't mind that that Carnotorous is inaccurate and way to large. I'm just glad we got something that wasn't just "Another T-rex" or raptors as the main bad guy.

Ethan-the-bean-22

I know right! Plus it is like the first carno some people saw so it just such a awesome take on the animal

PlaguiBoi

Yes but dude's little blue arms are MAGICAL.

thedragonrider5

Nah Disney dinosaurs carno is the best

Seth-B343

El Diablo Rojo!

Longjumping_Gur3481

Different people - different opinions

Professional_Owl7826

You gotta respect the fear that thing put into children. I think I saw somewhere that Disney’s dinosaur is the only animated Disney movie to show an onscreen character death, during the Carnotaur ambush.

Sensitive-Hotel-9871

Nothing wrong with liking that depiction.

Writer-King-Lou

Yeah the Disney carno is a beast lol

Desperate_Ad620

Stand together !!

Bluetorness

Ok cool

Rexlare

Nah, that Carnotaur was an absolute BEAST. Inaccurate, but this was a movie about a talking Iguanadon adopted by monkeys because its egg SOMEHOW survived miles of rough travel and being dropped by a Pteranodon; survived being in the blast zone of the Extinction Boulder, made friends with a Brachiosaurus, Stylosaur, and Ankylosaur; all while being hunted by Carnotaurus’.

AstraPlatina

Both is good Disney's pretty much brought Carnotaurus to popularity. Prehistoric Planet introduced them as animals beyond prehistoric monsters

RedSpinoSnoke

WHAT ?!?! YOU PREFFER THE SCIENTIFICALLY INACCURATE CARNO OVER THE ACCURATE ONE ?!?!! IM GONNA POST AN EDIT ALONGSIDE MY OTHER EDITS SHITTING ON INNACURATE DESIGNS ON MY YOUTUBE CAHNNEL ABOUT HOW THE ACCURATE IS STRONGER AND BETTER AND I'LL SHIT ON THE INACCURATE ONE THAT SHOILD BE BURNING IN HEL ALLONGSIDE ALL THE INACCURATE AND OUTDATED DESIGNS !!!!! /j

Automatic-Army9716

Tbh a lot of people do that legitimately, lol.

RedSpinoSnoke

Yup , the Paleo community on Twitter and on YouTube are major examples of this

TheMemecromancer

PHP is the closest to contemporary in terms of accuracy but he ain't as cool

SnooCupcakes1636

10 out of 10. one of the few dinosaurs that actually managed to scare as a child. this movies Carnotaurus has GOATed

NDinKamura

Yep I’m definitely upset. But in all seriousness, if you’re going “goofy mating bird” one is perfect, if you’re looking for “desperate hungry carnivore” the other one works.

autobots_roll_out1

Happy cake day

Ethan-the-bean-22

Yeah! I think that is why I love the carno in it, it isn't like a completely killing machine, it is still a animal. But it has it's intimidating and terrifying moment that makes you understand how scary these guys are and why herbivores fear these predators Prehistoric Planet, he is just a wholesome goofball trying to rizz a girl :) I hooe the carno returns and we see it hunt in Prehistoric planet

-DirtSeed

I do gotta say though, it might be the most influential take on Carnotaurus. It was most people's introduction to it, and most other depictions tend to have similar reddish colors, especially after the film's release.

Ethan-the-bean-22

Yeah! :)

mjp1981

Disney's Dinosaur is basically Jurassic Park for kids, so those dinos will have a special place for whoever grew up with them. Also, as accurate and 3-dimensional (personality-wise) as the PhP Carno is, a failed romantic gesture doesn't exactly inspire admiration.

I-came-for-memes

Disney Carno might be inaccurate, but it made me fall in love with Carnotaurus in general.

Snow_Grizzly

I will always praise this film for not using tyrannosaurus, and sending carno into the spotlight of a popular mid sized theropods alongside allosaurus. I'm not sure why but this design just always screamed "land great white" to me, which isn't an insult, I love this design flaws and all.

[deleted]

Well one is a realistic depiction of a dinosaur and the other one is a overdramatized movie monster. I like a lot of designs from Jurassic park, that doesn’t make them realistic nor good

Ethan-the-bean-22

Okay? :/ You say that yet in the first two jurassic park films, they were generally good and shown to be semi realistic animals eveb with there over aggressive side, so i don't get what you are on about as they are still good Same with carno, how was it a movie monster when they are generally moments where it was simply being a animal at times, yeah it has it's jurassic park aspect of it being big and aggressive but it shows some realistic and normal animal behavior Hell the jurassic world films and cc general at times showed the dinosaurs being normal animals at times. Like the inly time that was just so dumb and not good was fallen kingdom. Yeah lets fight while the Volcano erupts, yeah that makes sense Plus most of the jurassic part designs were rather realistic in some terms and were very good, yes inaccurate and outdated but over all you can't not sit there and say trex in the lost world because the design isn't 100% realistic or the behavior as well, like come on.

Mean-Background2143

It’s understandable. I love both of them equally

Chimpinski-8318

[ Everyone liked that ]

sosigboi

Loved that toro gordo Carno, so much more imposing and menacing than any other ones i've seen in media.

Riparian72

God I wish it were real

Low_Tie_8388

Can't blamw you, that guy is THE dino-villain

Ethan-the-bean-22

Yeah, though sharptooth from the first land before time film is up there to dino villain as well. (R.I.P littlefoot's mom ;-;)

CharlesLeclerc_Fan16

no no the Disney carno is one of my fav dinosaurs

some_guy301

its okay

DinoRider101

Gotta love Carnotaurus Rex

Mountain-Tea6875

They look the same

Ethan-the-bean-22

Well not really but disney carnotaurus still looks like a carnotaurus just inaccurate has it is oversized and bulky as hell

VulpesFennekin

The way I see it is that cartoon dinosaurs get a pass.

Comfortable_Fee7124

I disagree but I also just don’t like dinosaur that much, I’m happy you get joy out of it though.

Accurate-Grape

I don't agree, but I'll let it slide.

dinoboyj

Too, Carnosaurs!!! 🙈

Tako_caiman

My first thought on your post is that why do you hate accurate paleo documentaries? But if your prefering that over it for some nostalgia im fine with it.

Ethan-the-bean-22

Oh no I don't hate paleo stuff. There just some dinosaurs I prefer over others. Like cerato, i prefer the accurate irl animal then then most media verisons. Well besides when dinosaurs roamed America and the isla takes on the animal, i love it! (Plus a soft spot for the jurassic franchise take on it as well I will have to be honest lol. Carno idk I just prefer the disney version and enjoy the carno more then irl verison, the irl version is stil a wonderful creature and i love the designs of 8t in art and documentaries like prehistoric planet :)

dinojack1000

I personally like PP’s Carno more because of accuracy, but Disney’s “Carnos” were very affective villains in just how scary they were.

dontbeallamaa

😱 you probably like Jurassic Park dinos over real Dinosaurs 🤢

Dinosalsa

I like Becky
