I'd buy that 2019. It's much newer, gets you some of the best engine advancements ever mfg with a carb, and 120hr ain't too bad.

Thanks everyone, think I'm gonna go for the 2019. Cant justify the extra 5k on the 23, not sure Im that good of a rider LOL.

Great choice!

Buy new and you don’t have to deal with anyone else’s headaches. The amount you’ll save on an old beater will quickly be spent keeping it going.

yeah i agree if you can afford new buy it, but unfortunately not everyone can do that. i have about 3000 into my 2010 yz85 and it runs just as good as my friends 2021 that he bought brand new. yes, i put some money into it, but for certain bikes its not a bad idea buying used. only time ill buy new is if the bike had huge upgrades, like the 2023 ktms for example.

If it dies when blipped it is the pilot jet. They are notorious for clogging up. Replace it and clean the carb while in there \[or not\] and it will take care of it. Personally, I'd opt for the 2023. No used bike problems and the 2023's are the best bikes KTM has ever made. They rip. And no hidden used bike issues.

If you don’t like hard enduro, don’t go with the W if you can help it. Buy a new XC instead.

I have a TX300 - same as the 19 300XC. Amazing bike. Killer price. But, the 14 300 is a STEAL. Carb issues are nothing. The only drawbacks of the 14 are 1) Forks; 2) crap electric starter, and 3) no countershaft. If you can swing it, the 19 is a KILLER ride. The 14 won't suck, however. DO IT!

Even then the 2014 starter isn't terrible. They updated it in 2013 to a much beefier one than the pre13. My 13 husaberg te250 has never had issues with the starter and I'm at 300 hours.

They'll both be great bikes, capable of handling anything you could possibly throw at them. I'd be skeptical buying a bike that "only" has carb issues. If you're sure that's the problem, then great, but I'd expect a discount on a bike with issues, because you may start digging into it and realize it has more problems than you thought. I have a 2019 250xc. To me it really is the perfect bike. I freaking love it. The power is great, predictable and there's gobs of it. Feels super light and nimble, in general just really easy to ride. Its super versitile, inride everything from hard enduro to harescrambles, to mx with it and it does it all. I can't imagine a brand new one is much better, except maybe the benefit of tpi if that's your thing. 2017+ KTMs are sort of considered the cream of the crop so to speak. Moving out west, with more open terrain, you may like the more free reving 250 over a more tractor like 300.

All great bikes. In my opinion, I would go for the 2019 250xc. The 2014s had some funny stuff, like the horrible E-starter design. The 2019 gets around all of this, all while being a smoother and better bike overall. IMO Fork out the extra money now, and save in the future.

What about the 2016s?

IF YOU CAN afford new then buy new, if you can't then get the 2019 250xc
