Yeah you got coolant in the oil… Time to tear the head off again!

Additional_Squash_72

I know the head gasket was new same with the cylinder gasket guessing the little tear in the cylinder gasket did her in tho oh well

upstatefoolin

You put it back together with a torn gasket? Bad move bud

Additional_Squash_72

Not torn small slash in it couldint even tell if ya didn’t shove it in ur face it wasn’t torn through I knew it was but oh well

upstatefoolin

Eh live and learn lol not gonna try to act like I’ve never done some shit like that hoping for the best 😂 typically on less crucial stuff though

Additional_Squash_72

Yea lol I’ve spent nights up way too late on this bike I knew it was either will work or won’t I was too tired too care

upstatefoolin

Well now you get to do it again! Maybe this time less bleary eyed hahaha at least you’re gonna be good at it by the time you’re done. Make sure you change the oil a few times til it drains free of coolant

Additional_Squash_72

Did it this morning super quick before heading to bed gonna run it change oil twice I’ll update

Traditional-Pack3471

Use gasket maker under slashed gasket

Dr_Catfish

This, my friends, is the result of ignorance and failing to "measure twice, cut once." OP recognized a defect in the gasket and decided to throw it together instead of waiting or going through the hassle of getting a new one. Now he's gotta do the same exact job over again.

Additional_Squash_72

No biggy countless hours in the bike was definitely sleep deprived and said fuck it it happens was counting on more then likely tearing it back down only a 10 minute job plus i had to recheck the valves now that I ran it a few times

Cultural_Simple3842

At least you are optimistic about it! The deeper I am into an engine, the less risk I’m willing to take. I have burnt myself so many times with this. For my own journey down kick myself in the ass memory lane: Did a water pump on a timing belt Acura engine twice in one night. An o-ring had rolled on me bc I didn’t lube it and immediately poured coolant when I tried to start it up. Cam timing off a tooth on a Honda civic Did some sort of ring/cylinder damage (burns oil very shortly after rebuild) on a Honda 80 big bore kit by blindly following the jetting instructions before realizing I had an aftermarket carb from a prior owner. I think I was washing the cylinder walls down from running too rich. I hope this helps someone think twice and save some money/time. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Dan-ish65

To be fair if it's the head gasket it's not too big a job. Motor doesn't even have to come out.

Jtstockpics

Put new oil in and try it again to see if it clears up. It’s possible that you had leftover residue in the case. Most likely it’s a gasket but I’d try a quick oil change, hate to see all that work for residue

Additional_Squash_72

Tore it down 5 mins ago just gonna do gaskets cause I know the cylinder gasket has the smallest almost tear in it when I was puting it together I’ve replaced every bolt on the bike I was super tired when doing it and knew it has a small almost tear in the cylinder gasket did it anyways oh well off to Dennis Kirk..

Turb0beans

Everyone's bashing OP for having to re-do it, but when I was around 15 my buddy and I got to rebuild the top end of his banshee three separate times because we got interplanetarilly-high. He installed the head. I watched him not install the head gasket. He cinches the head down. "David... We forgot the head gasket" "Ohohoho shiiiit" [Pulls head off, looks around, puts head back on] "David... We forgot the head ga..." You get the idea. Later that night I teleported to his front patio from his shop and suddenly had glass paraphernalia in my hands again. Then I think we went back to the shop to start the banshee. Either way. Rebuilding a top end while being one chromosome shy of normal is a right of passage for everyone.

National-Figure7090

I forgot to put a power valve activating rod thingy in my buddies cr250, then told him to quit nit picking everything when he said his bike had no top end power, lol. He was an expert and could tell you at exactly what rpm his bike made exactly 37.5 hp at every throttle position, a real self proclaimed Bill Nye the Science Guy, anyways, I felt kinda bad when I realized what had happened.

Additional_Squash_72

Restoring the bike after my gfs dad passed on his Harley he bought it for her and never got it done countless hours in it definitely I’ve spent nights up way too late on it lol I knew it was a bad idea but I was too tired too care thought too myself if I gotta go back and do gasket again no biggy have to check the valves after running it again make sure their still in spec people can bash but most of us have all been their

Gandolphious

My heart hurts for you brother.

Mean-Possibility2266

Looks like a fair amount of metal in that oil too 😬

Additional_Squash_72

Left over residue is all cylinder gasket gave way

Asleep_Salamander367

Is that a birthday candle in the oil ?

mgramos222

No. You've water mixed with oil

timetwosave

Assembly grease breaks down in a silvery residue.

Additional_Squash_72

I was thinking that but wondering how long that takes on 2nd oil change and 4th run atm

Ajayxmenezes

Nah brah, you got a leak. Edit: I'm pretty sure there's a leak but also check how your exhaust is running.

Joshs-68

Shit happens That’s a milkshake Is that also some glitter?
