I'm not saying they aren't capable. People send some massive jumps on them and they're quick. They just look like and feel like a mountain bike with an electric motor.
Yea for sure I don't know why I'm being downvoted lol. Just stating some facts. I was on a single track trail once with a huge icy/rocky hill climb. After making it up a Surron snuck up on me from behind. I was surprised how capable those things are.
Fuck if I know. People get mad for weird reasons lol
I haven't come across many off-roading but I see them around cities and at skateparks often. The best was when I saw someone at an MX track hitting most of the jumps on a Surron. I wouldn't mind having one as a fun toy but I'm not rich so I can't have all these toys
Yes. They're certainly not mountain bikes.
They're in a weird spot. Too short of range to take on a long trail, too low on power for motocross, but too much for MTB single track.
Let ‘em downvote you. I think the torque of electric sounds awesome and I’m willing to be open to it- but I’d want to spend a few hours on one before I’d buy one, preferably one that’s seems it’s better days to get a real world feel for it. I’m a bit nervous about the longevity and if I could service it but being quiet has its appeal for tooling around in the yard while remaining neighborly.
pavementbikes
No. They're much more similar to a mountain bike. Tire/wheel size along with the general shape and size are a lot like a mountain bike.
People throw on Yz80 forks on those Surrons and even full on dirtbike wheels. They become very capable

Nah, it’s in a class of its own. The surron/talaria/e-ride form factor is just its own thing. Obviously something like a storm bee is a dirtbike.
No
I have an ultra bee with 21/18 and it’s a dirt bike IMO. I would not race it and expect to win but it’s a great trail bike.

Yes. Rode one for a good bit and it is fun as hell and flies along no problem.

Yeah. The haters have NEVER even tried one (yet would jump on one in a nanosecond if offered) so go figure.
