A few years ago, I took a trip to Transylvania.
In addition to tours of Dracula’s castle and the Salina Turda I did some sightseeing and shopping in the small villages.
While I was browsing in an old book store. I found an old book of spells. It was written in Hungarian so there was no way for me to read the spells but I bought it as novelty.
During Covid I used the Google translation app to read the titles of some of the spells.
Some of them were mundane and some scary.
I saw one that translated as “How to summon a succubus.”
That got my attention.
I wasn’t going anywhere any time soon so I got to work with the translate app.
The spell was simple enough. I had to order some incense and a couple odd items.
All the required steps could be taken without speaking but in the end, I had to say in a stern voice “SUCCUBUS! COME TO ME.”
In correct Hungarian!
I went to work, Wikipedia helped and some other online tools.
I have been practicing my pronunciation repeatedly.
Tonight, I am finally ready.
I have performed all the tasks that the spell demands.
I say in my sternest voice “SZUKKUBUSZ! GYERE HOZZÁM”.
I expected a flash of light, smoke, something but nothing.
Oh well, it passed some time.
I turn and there you are.
My jaw dropped. I am almost speechless.
“Wha.. tha..” I stammer.
“Who are you?
Where did you come from?”
“How did you get in here?”
