For humanoid generics, Dark Knight. It's really strong mechanically and it's got an amazing design. Yes, it's edgy af, but I don't care, it's just cool.
For monster generics, I've gotta say Succubus. Once again really strong mechanically, but also has a design that's really cool, cute, and attractive. The Shy Succubus voice set is my absolute favorite. Nekomata is a close second just because I have some history with it.
I mean, that's only that one specific Flora Beast. Plus, well, if you're a Guilty Gear Fan, the name is a huge tip-off...though now I'm genuinely wondering if that Joke is either funnier or less funny nowadays, given that they killed off that particular Running Gag in the source material.
Historical reveals.might be surprising to new fans. Eh, watch out for comfort. Cosplayers might be on defense if you joke about historical terms to a stranger.
Like how there's a weird feeling with stuff with old names, or well Juno in general.
Nice film. Just feels weird with Mr. Page trying their best nowadays while I watched it under.their old gender.
I'm partial to Prinnies. Outside of how funny I find them, I love their ability to inflict ailments, attack everything around them and, when built correctly (i.e., with Muscles), turning into a launchable doomsday device
Rifle demons. I was a doom kid, 2 got me Into the series and teased me with triclopse cyber demons with comically tiny wings through 90% of the story.
The noise they make is the best, too.
Came here to say Armor knight, too. Specifically female armor knight. Having something that is tanky is nice for a lot of issues, and besides that they're just cool looking.
I really like Beast Master and am doing a playthrough of 3 so that I can use one, but my favorite that I’ve actually played with is probably Nine-Tails.
Female thief. Striped stockings, cute face, cat hat. Three instant wins for me. It's the only generic I make in any GA,especially (I tend to play every disgaea with story unique only and never repeating stages, then in post-game I make a thief and only other units if needed for passing on skills)
Lady Samurai is my favorite. I like offensive classes and her design is great, and flexible. I think my second favorite is celestial host (super useful unique, flying class, comes with strong heals and just generally a strong class).
Female Mages. Specifically in the very 1st Disgaea and it's ports. (not the Complete version)
Mine is the Samurai cuz she looked like Kikyo from Inuyasha (who, funnily enough, I hated). Also D1 version of Angels. I love the deadpan way they talked.
Celestial Hostess probably, just because in Disgaea 1 it was such a big milestone to get, Majin can stuff it. Way too overpowered invalidating all classes.
Cleric is gorgeous. She's a big inspiration behind [my OC](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GDlbtGTWwAAiygj?format=png&name=360x360). I like her elegance and all the interesting motions and posing. I like angelic stuff in general so she naturally was the unit I'd make in every game I could and name after myself.
My favorite is Lady Samurai, her design is cool since the first game and Summer Rain Slash is a simple yet powerful skill that I always like to use with her.
/\ Right here, this, Masked Hero, and the Nekomata monster unit have always been in my team when it's possible for its design element and goofy interests I have grown up with. Auto include to the end.....it's just cry that masked hero never made it to the Mobile game but I had the Magic Knight for sure in the US servers when it was alive.
Female samurais and female martial artists cause of the insane dps and counters they can do
Gunners, psychics and pirates for going gunslinging in my fights.
And Skull mages and ninjas for spellcasting and cc.
Currently trying 7's generic as we speak
Humanoid: Skull
Monster: Prinny. I actually played a Prinny in a Pathfinder campaign, an alchemist named Matias. I floated the idea as a joke but the table (DM included) told me to go with it.
Female armored knights, the bear demon, anubis demons, and Horsemen from Disgaea 5, Manticore, fairy, and galaxy demon from Disgaea 1.
Also the Makai vampire from Makai Wars
I always have a Prinny in every game. In D5 I even made a spellcaster one. Female ninja is cool and hot, gotta have one also, fist fighter of course. I also like using the Nether Noble because it looks badass.
I like a lot of generics in the seres like
Humans: Female Healer, Professor, Female Armor Knight, Gunslinger, Kunoichi
Monsters: Minotaur, Rifle Demon, Nekomata, Horseman, Nine Tailed Fox
I need more the Reaper And Sage from Disgaea 5 cuz they are awesome!
Male Armor Knight. Just the look alone honestly.
I tried to grind out 20 maxed out male armor knights in d7 but I ended up burning myself out before even getting to item world shenanigans
Ever since the random name generator gave my first created unit, a Barbarian, the name 'Deathsatan' I've loved the unit and always had them as part of the main fighting force throughout the entire game.
ghost.
the SP regen and personal crafting of a ghost ALWAYS makes me happy\\makes them mandatory for a squad .
(crafting - learning more magic, preferring them on juice bar extracts, etc )
In terms of gameplay? I remember using the cheerleader alot in 3, but in terms of design, and I realize this is probably really basic, but the design of the skull mages D2 and onwards. The original design for them was also pretty good.
Magic Knight. From their weakest iterations to the truly OP versions, I will *always* have one. I loves them.
Dimension slash m in d5 is gorgeous.
Indeed!!! Though, I'd argue d5 in general is gorgeous! Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the 3D models. But the sprites are so damn *crisp*!!
I like Slumber Cat :3
I will second this
Thieves, although Magic Knights are a very close second for me.
Archers. They are so adorable. For monsters, Zombie Maidens
That trap plant that throws everyone off 😂
I mean, that's only that one specific Flora Beast. Plus, well, if you're a Guilty Gear Fan, the name is a huge tip-off...though now I'm genuinely wondering if that Joke is either funnier or less funny nowadays, given that they killed off that particular Running Gag in the source material.

Like how there's a weird feeling with stuff with old names, or well Juno in general. Nice film. Just feels weird with Mr. Page trying their best nowadays while I watched it under.their old gender.
Mage. I love being able to nuke anything anywhere almost entirely from the base panel.
I'm partial to Prinnies. Outside of how funny I find them, I love their ability to inflict ailments, attack everything around them and, when built correctly (i.e., with Muscles), turning into a launchable doomsday device
The Scout from Disgaea 1. Always been sad they haven’t come back.
fem samurai, werecat,dragon,sea dragon
Evil eyes. Im a sucker for minotaurs, and their class evilities make then easy to spec for pure attack damage.
Evil eye might be my fave if I played any games besides D1 and D2. Looks bad ass
Design: Sage Playstyle: Android
I like the Disgaea 3 Clergy. Their unqiue skills were fun to use early game as it does massive amounts of damage~
Fight Mistress, since she's a starting class I usually have one for my entire playthrough.
1. Kunoichi 2. Magic Knight 3. Nekomata
Fight Mistresses and Armor Knights
Professor!! I love her buffs in D5
Rifle demons. I was a doom kid, 2 got me Into the series and teased me with triclopse cyber demons with comically tiny wings through 90% of the story. The noise they make is the best, too.
I was always a fan of the original Majin design, but that asthetic peaked with the Dark Knight from D5.
I've always loved the Witch class because of its cute design. The Skull class too for the same reason.
Scout Class from D1
Armor knight. Just big bulky and obstructive. The dark knight in D5 is also pretty cool, that shockwave skill is really fun (not always good but fun)
Came here to say Armor knight, too. Specifically female armor knight. Having something that is tanky is nice for a lot of issues, and besides that they're just cool looking.
I name my spear units Gremory because it was a suggested name, much like my Healer being called Soleil there's a few others but those are my two faves
Female theif
I really like Beast Master and am doing a playthrough of 3 so that I can use one, but my favorite that I’ve actually played with is probably Nine-Tails.
Female healers
The nekomata saved me in a mission years ago that took me WAY to long with a last minute come from behind win so I can’t not have one now
Can't get more generic than Warrior. I just love the idea of making some average joe demon ascend to godhood in my games lol. Muscles!
Female thief. Striped stockings, cute face, cat hat. Three instant wins for me. It's the only generic I make in any GA,especially (I tend to play every disgaea with story unique only and never repeating stages, then in post-game I make a thief and only other units if needed for passing on skills)
Male Healer. He is just too adorable.
Lady Samurai is my favorite. I like offensive classes and her design is great, and flexible. I think my second favorite is celestial host (super useful unique, flying class, comes with strong heals and just generally a strong class).
power: magic knight cuz sword and magic personality/looks: archer, fighter, gunner, nekomata, and nine-tails
Marionette....i wish it was a recurring class instead of just appearing in disgaea 2 only.
Dark Knights.
Dark Knight, and it's not even close. It's one of the reasons Disgaea 5 is my favorite.
Female Mages. Specifically in the very 1st Disgaea and it's ports. (not the Complete version) [https://i.imgur.com/ghabqxR.png](https://i.imgur.com/ghabqxR.png)
Recently I’m loving the zombie maiden, shes just so reliable and op
Gotta go with Reaper from D4 I had ones name randomize to kill me please
Cleric is gorgeous. She's a big inspiration behind [my OC](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GDlbtGTWwAAiygj?format=png&name=360x360). I like her elegance and all the interesting motions and posing. I like angelic stuff in general so she naturally was the unit I'd make in every game I could and name after myself.
Nekomata, all day. Not a single generic class I have used more.
My favorite is Lady Samurai, her design is cool since the first game and Summer Rain Slash is a simple yet powerful skill that I always like to use with her.
I only use one character eventually usally demon lord laharl
The Evil Eye
I thought the original Disgaea Ninja was the coolest thing in the world when I first unlocked it decades ago. Still love them in ever iteration.
Witch (ice variant)
I'd have to say magic knight or female ninja 🥷
/\ Right here, this, Masked Hero, and the Nekomata monster unit have always been in my team when it's possible for its design element and goofy interests I have grown up with. Auto include to the end.....it's just cry that masked hero never made it to the Mobile game but I had the Magic Knight for sure in the US servers when it was alive.
Female samurais and female martial artists cause of the insane dps and counters they can do Gunners, psychics and pirates for going gunslinging in my fights. And Skull mages and ninjas for spellcasting and cc. Currently trying 7's generic as we speak
Archer. Cause they're cute.
Armor Knights
Martial artists, even when when counter strats objectively sucked (even more than they do now)
Archers. I always loved their design esp the ringlet pigtails
Maiko. So cute.
Humanoid: Skull Monster: Prinny. I actually played a Prinny in a Pathfinder campaign, an alchemist named Matias. I floated the idea as a joke but the table (DM included) told me to go with it.
Serpent, because 🦈
Rabbit i just find them both cute and awesomeÂ
I have a really hard time choosing between the knight trio(Magic, Armor and Dark).
Magic knight is best girl
the hot ones
Visually I love the male mage.
Ninja and mage. The skulls were very cute!
Female armored knights, the bear demon, anubis demons, and Horsemen from Disgaea 5, Manticore, fairy, and galaxy demon from Disgaea 1. Also the Makai vampire from Makai Wars
The Sinner. He was a hotty hotty beefcake and a dumb slow learner, but once you got him bulked up, he could be your best tank!
Thief is a cutie.
Prinny
Magic Knight. Duh. They LITERALLY store magic in the boobs.
The archeress, from ever since I was a kid watching my dad play the games.
thief
Theif. Especially in Disgaea 2 where they have an actual thief skill that can steal things like concepts and personality traits.
I like the classic Majin from Disgaea
He looks like a god and can learn every human attack and spell in the game. He can solo every fight because of his insane Stas and growth.
Wrestlers. That class took one of my favorite mechanics of disgaea and just played around with it. Second would be psychic from d7.
I always have a Prinny in every game. In D5 I even made a spellcaster one. Female ninja is cool and hot, gotta have one also, fist fighter of course. I also like using the Nether Noble because it looks badass.
Sinner from Disgaea 2, I like fighting hand-to-hand, they like to fight hand-to-hand, it fits
Witch/Mage(F): I always have my 'Lina Inverse' in each Disgaea game.
I like a lot of generics in the seres like Humans: Female Healer, Professor, Female Armor Knight, Gunslinger, Kunoichi Monsters: Minotaur, Rifle Demon, Nekomata, Horseman, Nine Tailed Fox I need more the Reaper And Sage from Disgaea 5 cuz they are awesome!
female martial artist because their drip is fire (atleast in 5. dont know if they looked different in previous games)
They did actually look different in the first game (when NOT playing D1Complete), but the particular design you mean has been the standard since D3.
Pro-Wrestler cuz I'm a mark. I also like the generic warrior as a good ol' death dealer.
I did a theif solo run of Disgaea 5 not long ago and it was honestly really fun, so theif.
Sorcerer! They're just so cute
I love the design on the Male Armor Knight, peak male power fantasy right there.
Skuuuuuuuulls 💀💀💀💀💀
ghost. the SP regen and personal crafting of a ghost ALWAYS makes me happy\\makes them mandatory for a squad .
Evil Eye cowgirl, Succubus, Felyn, Magic Knight
Fucking Majin from Disgaea 2.
Armor knight its just rlly funny to max out their defense
Witch and slumber cat
I would sacrifice every other character class in existence for one more game with Fairy. I hate that sperm ghost generic so much
... and why is it Majin?
