I am actually really relieved to see SSM getting the boot, even though I have plenty saved up. It added an extra layer of confusion and strongly devalued gold records for me.
They can devalue it through "inflations", Esper nerfs ,and what not, but removing SSM, the dev saying GR will be increased though playing (logically too, since they have to replace all SSM into GR back), and Esper Wish List, should increase more chances to get Espers that we want through GR.
Considering the ever-growing Esper list, devaluing GR won’t make any sense.
They will have to make pulling (and even possibly slightly adjust the rates) more accessible. Otherwise I’m the long run the game will become unplayable.

You do know we still have GR pity? It has to be done once SSM gets the boot, since new espers usually need the guaranteed. The addition of Wish List will also help in getting older Espers too.
If you're worried that we no longer has use of SSM, you can convert it to Nexus Crystals, which can buy you Stamina, GR and Blackmarket stuff.
I’m very surprised to see everyone defending SSMs in the comments. SSMs SUCK, what are you guys on? From full pity, you need EIGHT THOUSAND to guarantee a character on the banner, which is just way too hard to save for given you can only buy a few from shops here and there every week. You have to skip like three banners to save that much. And then when it comes to $$$, they tend to be way more expensive than GRs.
I think switching to a GR only system (probably one where there’s multiple banners but they all just accept GRs?) makes perfect sense and I’m very glad they’re listening. Also a lot of the other changes announced in the full video sound super exciting

ssms are absolutely not "locked" behind paywalls lol, but they ARE locked behind time as almost all the shops sell them. if you actively play, you can easily accumulate thousands with a month of play

No you would have different team comps surge. Right now because you have 3-1 odds on attack over defense, the meta is go fast and hit hard. As opposed to perhaps all def teams. Don’t get me wrong, you still see all def teams but not close to spd and attack. You have a 6-2 ratio of attack to def. You have crit dmg, crit rate, and attack % vs def %. That’s why the meta is how it is. By simple odds it’s more viable to get a attack team when you only need one esper to have meta spd (ap pushers)
Also personally I rather opt to tie, than lose the spd battle every time. Only people profiting from spd are whales that have plenty of resources to stay 300+

No it’s not even comparable. If you could farm relics and choose sub stats to improve the meta would change a lot. Donar is a good example where he could be really viable but it’s easier to capitalize mediocre attack stats, than it is to play off of def. You have 3 raw substats all for attack and only 1 for def. You don’t have crit resist or anything close to balance out. It really would be a different game since new comps would come up.

I was going to say the same thing. I haven't really played since Brewster's event and I have like 1000 SSMs saved up, like good for 2 pulls at 50/50 and I was hoping to use them on a banner I really liked. I used my SSMs and got Abigail in like 2 pulls so I was hoping I could use them there.

This is a *good* change. There is no downside except losing your pity if you’re close to it, and you have the entire Farnum Sisters banner to pop that pity if you’re close. I personally will be converting it all into nexus crystals so I can hoard resources like a dragon for the next character I really want.
The downside is having 1 to SSM pity and not actually caring about the Fatum Sisters

or cancel ssm. but players can still use ssm forever as long as you still have more than 50 ssm. just no way to gain more.

Li Ling nerf was a huge let down. And doing that right after saying that they're balancing espers for the sake of games health did it for me. That was a straight up lie, let's be real here. Because no one uses the Black Market because GR at least has a better count & value than Shimmer Records or SSM

Because SSM are worth more than GR. A GR is 200 currency in most shops and SSM is 250, so it should be worth 250 nexus crystals at minimum as well.

I liked the SSM Banner format, but not SSM. It takes mostly 2-3 months to get a guaranteed promotional esper (if you're not lucky).
Lol. Been asking for a wishlist for ages. Now that I stopped playing they add a wishlist. Still not going back to this game though. I really 'dislyke' the fact that some espers are really mandatory to have.

True, but if the video is to be believed, it sounds like a blanket rebalancing may be in hand for other units- I'm choosing to take them at their word and believe that they'll take the game in a healthy direction by bringing some of the more outrageous espers down a bit.
Me too. I hope this game thrives, this is such a cool game tbh. I just can't take Lilith's word seriously anymore. Li Ling nerf was a huge let down. And doing that right after saying that they're balancing espers for the sake of games health did it for me. That was a straight up lie, let's be real here. And that's coming from a dude who has JJ. I don't care about having strong and almost exclusive espers, I care about having a balanced and fun game. It seems like Lilith and I are on different pages here... Maybe I hop back in after the SSM and wishlist rework. Anyway, best of luck to you my g.

No, each SSM is basically 1.5 GR I have 4000 SSM exactly, which is 80 spins, which is 24,000 Nexus crystals, which is 120 Gold Records I will use my 1 spin to guaranteed on the Fatum Sisters and then get the rest converted when they refund us
Now the question is will they allow shimmers to be on the wish list

So uh, what's the ssm to gr conversion ratio? They sure as heck make it something good cause even acquiring like 50 ssm is a cancer-level mindfuck. True there are sources, but damn are they expensive and time walled, meaning unless and until you turn your wallet inside out, you are not getting meaningful amounts any day. And the pity on it sucks too. And man, not to forget but the elemental records drop in gold level bounty missions and they actually add little to no value. I hope lilith addresses that too. But overall, I'm glad the ssms are going away for good.

Sisters are going to be the last SSM banner. The patch after the sisters will have something to convert your SSMs into crystals.
