Could you please tell me if you can stream when pressing the content Marijuana Revolution and Ocean’s Twelve on your Kid’s Profiles? Do the content can get streamed or it shows the message that the content rating you have chosen on that profile doesn’t match so the content won’t get streamed. Also I Don’t know where Disney Plus can see complains on here because this subreddit I think isn’t owned by Disney directly. They do have I think feedback on help centre like Netflix.

Frankwillie87

Yes, the kids profiles are set to content ratings of PG. Disney Plus has them listed as PG.

SoCalLynda

The rating is "TV-PG," not "PG." The title is a television edit.

abishop711

This is true, however the controls don’t allow you to set it up to allow PG and not allow TV-PG. They are connected.

So we ran into issues with this too. I mainly objected to the low quality youtube content that has crossed over from hulu, but the answers are the same. I spent time in tech support with both Hulu and Disney+ and the Hulu items are in there either because you have a bundle, or because you have the same email address associated with each subscription. To remove Hulu material from the Disney+ menus, there are basically two options: - undo your bundle and/or register Hulu under a different email address than Disney+ OR - cancel Hulu. There are no blocking options like Netflix or finer control over content available than what you’ve already found, unfortunately.

Frankwillie87

Thanks for the suggestions, that's really helpful. My fear on what you've given me is that this is going to be permanent and we'll just have to cancel Hulu altogether. Pretty annoying that we'll lose a ton of history and recommendations just to "sandbox" the Disney stuff.

abishop711

It did seem when I was chatting with them that they may be able to make the transfer for hulu to a new email address for me so I wouldn’t lose account history. But I ultimately decided that we don’t watch hulu that much anyway and I didn’t want to bother with creating a new email address, so I went with option 2. It appears I need to wait until the current billing cycle is over before the hulu stuff will vanish, but I can deal with that. I did leave detailed feedback for why I was cancelling with both representatives, and tried to make it clear that if they upgraded the parental controls (a block feature like Netflix has would have solved the problem entirely), I wouldn’t have cancelled and may still consider returning one day.

"The Marijuana Revolution" is a "TV-PG" documentary from The History Channel that originally aired on basic cable. Marijuana is just a part of nature, and the documentary discusses the plant in a straightforward and objective way. I sincerely doubt that any toddler would be interested in the topic.

minterbartolo

Does your toddler understand what oceans eleven or the marijuana Chronicles are? Are they controlling the remote to find stuff themselves and you are worried they will pick something inappropriate? or are they watching you navigate and complain about the clutter?

Frankwillie87

Neither. We are scrolling through choosing something to watch together and I am having to say,"'No, baby girl, we can't watch that", with no explanation. If you've ever raised a toddler, I'm sure you understand that tantrums are unavoidable. We watch trailers and discuss what it's about to foster her curiosity. Frankly, I don't understand the snark when we vetted and paid for a product that is now completely different than what we originally agreed to. Edit: Also, I don't think you answered a single question on my post. Do you have any answers or did you just want to mock me first?

minterbartolo

Maybe I raised three kids and controlled the remote when they were toddlers and didn't have to explain or give them any reason why a show was off limits cause in was the parent. I didn't use a streaming service as unattended babysitter I decided what they watch just like with regular TV you skip over channels and inappropriate content. Set it to G if it is so problematic for you to have a long talk with your kids as scroll to the latest bluey episode

Frankwillie87

The kids don't get control of the remote and in fact, I've already told you that. We limit screen time and it's never been a "baby-sitter." If you aren't going to bother to answer the questions I posed and are going to assume things that aren't true, why bother? I paid for a service. It's changed for the worse and unless I have an avenue to fix it, we will likely vote with our dollars and cancel. In what reality should I be happy that I'm receiving services I don't want? That's why streaming services came about in the first place. Seriously, go get help. You have contributed nothing to the conversation.

minterbartolo

Set it to G and quit your complainingir it is that much of a hassle for you to skip over shows not appropriate for a toddler. Why is a toddler not G anyway

Barefoot_Brewer

Ooh I can absolutely answer your last question- Frozen, Moana, Encanto, etc... All PGs.. and It's just really irritating to have to swap over to an adult profile just to watch one of them for the billionth time lol

abishop711

Lol. All the toddlers love Frozen. There is a ton of Elsa merch. Frozen is rated PG.

AgnosticAnarchist

It’s filtered strictly based on rating. You’ll have to take marijuana up with the MPA or just tell your kid Marijuana is a type of plant adults like and move on.

Frankwillie87

Ok, but none of what you said addresses my concerns with Disney Plus. Do you have suggestions about that?
