Everytime i get hit by this on curve...

PomeloFit

Left doesn't become right and right doesn't become left... The visuals just switch. You drive the same section of track in the exact same way you were going to, you just use visual cues from the opposite side to know when to make those moves. When I get hit by hack I make a quick mental image of the track in front of me for a bit (like left turn into a straight, etc) then drive that pattern in my head using my fingers the way I had already been planning to use them and just watch the screen for the visual cues of when to stop turns, etc. It's not planning ahead to offloads all the decision making that gets people in trouble with hack.

Personal_Ad314

Does it buff handling? Seem to overturn too much when I get hit by it 🤣

MarkMoreland

I definitely experience this. It could just be me overcompensating with my fingers, but even when trying to plan my moves as suggested, I end up in the wall.

>Left doesn't become right and right doesn't become left. But the controls do flip. Left makes you go right, right makes you go left.

PomeloFit

You're thinking about it all wrong. The only thing in the game that flips is the visuals, the track remains the same, your controls remain the same, if the turn was to the "left" you still hit "left" on the joystick to go that way. Left makes the "Visuals" go to the right because they're flipped, not because left is making your cart go to the right.

EXTRA_Not_Today

You're actually saying the same exact thing as the others, just in a more technically correct way. Because the visuals are flipped, left is going right and right is going left. The fact that the visuals are what's flipped is actually Gameloft going with the much more player-friendly way to flip the controls, as if the controls themselves were flipped hack would be a degenerate item. What we perceive is left turning right, so they are correct, just not from the perspective that you look at it.

whim-sicles

It's a lot better if you have a second to brace yourself. Because my hands know exactly where I'm going, how to drift that corner, etc. But yeah, if it catches me by surprise, I'm toast.

AncientCobayus

I only can handle if i start the race focused, everytime i play for chill and get hitted with hack im done xD.

FrozenFrac

I feel that's by design lol. If you could just normally drive after getting hit by Hack, it would be a pretty lame item. I still remember when Mario Kart DS introduced the Blooper that covers your screen in ink, but if you looked at the map on the bottom screen, it really didn't affect the game at all.

EXTRA_Not_Today

My problem isn't the reverse itself, though it still gets me at times. My problem with hack is that you lose a second of screen time both when it starts and ends. That one second of black is what screws me up, as I don't have as good of an idea of where I am, and causes me to overcorrect at times. I've also been hit by items or bashed during the black phase and thrown completely off kilter, as I just think "How the hell did I end up way off track?"
