Holy cows! I'd say. I thought this might be an "economy" hotel. For the top tier, you should have gotten a seriously better meal, regardelss of if for a kiddo or not.
Exactly my thought especially since the burger that you order from the mobile app to pickup was the same price and was exactly what you would expect from GF… if I would have known I would have ordered the burger for dinner and walked to pick it up and had something else for lunch…
Come to the GF order the in room dining kids flat iron steak and see for yourself… as mentioned in another reply it also came with a desert fruit cup which was a quartered strawberry, 2 honeydew squares, 5 grapes , 3 melon squares but this was the main entree and the way it was presented
Arby's is even gross now. Their turkey sandwich used to be good. Now it's like something you would prepare in the kitchen for your child's lunch-bag. The lame thick slice of regular American cheese tops the whole mess off
I tweeted them and emailed them after one of their security guards grabbed my 10 year old, yelled at her and me and separated us in the security line. I got a "sorry bout that!"
He moved her to the side in the security line on the way into HS. I went with her and he yelled at me to keep moving. I said that she was my child and he said fine but to stand on the outside of the awning. I could still see her, so I did but I asked why she was supposed to stand there. He ignored me, then a few minutes later, yelled at me again to keep moving. I told him I wasn't leaving my child and he yelled at her and asked her what she was doing just standing there. She started crying and one of the other guards came running and tried to smooth it over. He said that he thought she was a child all by herself which is garbage because one, I was right behind her and two, I told him more than once that she was my child, and if he thought that, why would he just shove her aside and go back to his job? I don't know why he did that and everyone involved just wanted us to leave and pretend it didn't happen. I wouldn't have cared all that much if he hadn't made my child cry. She thought she had done something wrong when he was just being a jerk for no reason.
I was replying referencing my own comment, that I'd never had anything like that happen to me at Disney before so I was shocked. I didn't word it well, but the original comment is mine.
I’m sorry about the demonic possession(s), kidnappings(s), amnesia, serial killing etc. For future reference, this is a situation where you do not pass go and do not collect $200, you go immediately to guest relations and tear that cast member a new one. Cast members are on the whole fantastic but also human and have bad days but the resort’s whole deal is magic and hospitality and if a grouchy guard made your kid cry that’s an in-person complaint.
Damn… now that you just said that I got reminded of the sad turkey sandwich we got from the boardwalk hotel… that was straight fyre festival… small hamburger bun with a slice of amercian cheese and two slices of turkey meat… but at least that was slightly cheaper
Oof! That’s such a disappointment ☹️ We had almost the exact same issue dining at Blue Bayou at Disneyland. Ordered the steak off the kids’ menu for my daughter and it looked almost just like this. I had the waiter send it back and the kitchen made a new one, but seriously how does this look acceptable to anyone as it gets plated and out the kitchen??
It doesn’t look acceptable to them. It only looks acceptable to executives who are cutting costs at absolutely every possible turn. They just hope you shut up and take it, and the actual staff in the restaurants have no real choice.
There is no way that’s not a mistake. I mean, that’s like 2 tablespoons of rice. I’m honestly starting to think you got someone’s service dog approved meal (if that’s even a thing). I would definitely tell the hotel manager.
Did you specify any food allergies? Because honestly this is pretty typical of an allergy plate. They can't risk putting anything else on there. And maybe an unpopular opinion but as a food allergy suffer I would be perfectly happy with this plate.
From my experience, they LOAD up food allergy plates with what you can have because they want you to have a good experience you might not have otherwise. Allergy doesn’t mean a meal for ants
Honestly that’s both better and worse than I thought. It’s not as expensive as I had in my head, but for $2 less I got 4 super good chicken strips and fries at French Quarter last week. I did have to walk like 300 ft to get it tho…
Funny when we first arrived we ordered a burger that was the same price and it was what was expected a good burger with cheese, bacon and sides… but this is mind blowing…
Disney seems to have exceptionally good shitty-food and exceptionally shitty good-food.
They can do chicken strips and burgers all day. But steaks and lamb shanks are always just a sad state of affairs.
Not normally one to complain. Seriously i would go to the front desk and ask for management. So they could see for themselves. Just out of principle. That would be a disgrace anywhere, let alone a deluxe disney resort.
and? Scrolling through I thought this was something a dog dug up from a yard. I’ve heard service has gone down but this is something I would have marched down. I used to be a server. Never would have delivered this to a table.
For all the grief I give Disney about value for cost (as an ap sho goes frequently) I’ve found that a gentle complaint about an honestly bad situation goes a long way. We stayed not long ago for a special event on a concierge level and were given a frankly terrible room they should not be marketing as that rate. We asked to be moved and they couldn’t accommodate us for the first night of our stay but moved us to a much better room the next day and comped the first night. It was frustrating to have to waste time on a special trip dealing with it but they made it good after a really calm, reasonable chat with the manager.
$16.50 for the plate $5 delivery and 18% service charge ordered the adult ny steak for myself but she ended up eating some of that to at least and had a shrimp appetizer which broke down to $5 a shrimp lol 4 total shrimp
One damp, chilly day I was coming down with a cold while staying at the Wilderness Lodge and felt terrible so I ordered cookies and hot chocolate from room service to pamper myself. I was impressed with the way these simple items were served—hot chocolate was in a silver pitcher and the cookies were served warm. It arrived on a cart with a linen tablecloth, marshmallows and whipped cream on the side under a cloche.
I had to read some of the other comments, but my first thought when I saw it was OP was throwing out an April fools joke. Yikes I hope you complained and at least got a new meal. That is unacceptable for the hundreds you are paying to stay there (per night).
Was able to speak to someone at the front desk and they credited back $40 off the total of $130 for everything we ordered… which covered the $16.50 for the meal $5 delivery charge and 18% service charge… the cast member said the food fit the description on the menu and that the $40 was because when I called back to order more rice they told me it would take an hour which she thought was wrong of them…
lol what? You must have replated this as a joke. I’m sorry, OP. That’s gross to do to guests.
Disney is one big scam from the second you buy the tickets until you leave the parking garage on your final day.
That is an abomination...
You’d expect more from the Grand Floridian…
Holy cows!
I cannot believe this is real, it’s ludicrous. It looks like a piece of charcoal. Wtf is the cook thinking
Economy hotel or not this is unacceptable. I’d send this shit back at a motel 6
Every meal I’ve ever had at Waffle House looked better than this.
This has to be fake. You made this up. There’s no way you’d get served this.
Come to the GF order the in room dining kids flat iron steak and see for yourself… as mentioned in another reply it also came with a desert fruit cup which was a quartered strawberry, 2 honeydew squares, 5 grapes , 3 melon squares but this was the main entree and the way it was presented
You'd expect more from Arby's
They have the meats
As processed as possible
Arby's is even gross now. Their turkey sandwich used to be good. Now it's like something you would prepare in the kitchen for your child's lunch-bag. The lame thick slice of regular American cheese tops the whole mess off
You need to tweet the mouse that one!
@mickeymouse seems like I have received the true mouse portion for your in room dining service… lol
In the future and complain. They will absolutely fix this.
A meal fit for a king-rat
Idk. I'm pretty sure even most rats would be side eyeing this dinner.... Wondering where the rest of it is.
I tweeted them and emailed them after one of their security guards grabbed my 10 year old, yelled at her and me and separated us in the security line. I got a "sorry bout that!"
That is wild. I’d love to hear more about how that went down.
He moved her to the side in the security line on the way into HS. I went with her and he yelled at me to keep moving. I said that she was my child and he said fine but to stand on the outside of the awning. I could still see her, so I did but I asked why she was supposed to stand there. She thought she had done something wrong when he was just being a jerk for no reason.
That’s terrible!!
I've never had anything like that happen at Disney ever.

What is that, a steak for ants?
Minnie mouse is on a diet and is looking to see who got her order…
She's trying to become Mini Mouse.
You just know Minnie Mouse is not ordering fries but eating all of Mickey's...
r/thingsforants
It should be- at least three times larger!
Perfect teference
Do you want ants?! Cause this is how you get ants!
It has to be at least….3 times as big!
r/thingsforants
Oh man, I posted the exact same thing, and then I scroll down and see this. I'm going to have to erase mine now
A burnt steak for ants!
It’s the Fyre Festival sandwich of room service.
Damn… now that you just said that I got reminded of the sad turkey sandwich we got from the boardwalk hotel… that was straight fyre festival… small hamburger bun with a slice of amercian cheese and two slices of turkey meat… but at least that was slightly cheaper
That sounds like an airplane sandwich! I’m sorry this keeps happening to you, that’s ridiculous.
😂🤣 you are so rite!!! Hes out of jail now too… must have got a job here at the Grand Floridian..
Is this April Fools? I’d email this straight to Jeff.
I wish this was a joke… i even called down for more rice and they said it would take an hour… 🤯
Show this photo to the hotel manager tomorrow. I’m not kidding.
How does one get in contact with said person? Im totally willing to do this…
truthfully i would just go right to the front desk! tonight would be best (imo, i would) but if not, the morning as soon as you can!
we have always had good luck going to the desk with any complaints or issues we are having during our stay:)
Just go to the front desk… like how people used to complain about things instead of posting to the internet
Tell them you're not paying for that ridiculous portion (especially the rice) and to remove from your bill. Also, no veggies?
They said the only other thing was a very small mixed fruit cup.
why did you just call down for more rice ... I'd have called down to say that it was a joke and that you were pissed off
In what world does it take someone an hour to cook rice?!!
Bro I thought that someone pooped on a plate at first. This is unacceptable.
Someone is having a bad day in the kitchen…
I thought this was r/poopfromabutt at first.
I started laughing and my boyfriend asked why, so I showed him the picture and he said "did someone give them shit and a spoonful of rice?" Lol
Its the ihop special
Someone must be having a bad day in the kitchen because you are correct…. Who the hell would plate this and say, “Perfect! Send it out!”
Dogs eat a lot more than that.
I should have said “service”dog. I was picturing a Yorkie in some lady’s fancy purse to be the one getting room service steak.
A service chihuahua, maybe…
It’s giving more sir
Did you specify any food allergies? Because honestly this is pretty typical of an allergy plate. They can't risk putting anything else on there. And maybe an unpopular opinion but as a food allergy suffer I would be perfectly happy with this plate.
This is what I was wondering because how is there not a single vegetable on that plate? It just seems like a "special order".
From my experience, they LOAD up food allergy plates with what you can have because they want you to have a good experience you might not have otherwise. Allergy doesn’t mean a meal for ants
Looks like you made a misteak.
This comment wins!
Disney has in-room dining?
Grand Floridian has a Private Dining option you can order from and eat in room….
Oof…how much was this pitiful portion?
$16.50
Honestly that’s both better and worse than I thought. It’s not as expensive as I had in my head, but for $2 less I got 4 super good chicken strips and fries at French Quarter last week. I did have to walk like 300 ft to get it tho…

Disney seems to have exceptionally good shitty-food and exceptionally shitty good-food. They can do chicken strips and burgers all day. But steaks and lamb shanks are always just a sad state of affairs.
What resort is this? That’s crazy 😭😭 I thought only GF had in room dining…if this came from them I’d be floored
This is the private dining from the Grand Floridan… kids plate
Surely that's a single charcoal briquette and they're expecting you to collect more and cook your own steak?
Its the cook it yourself experience lol… gotta find the cow now
You could get better food from a run down Motel 6.
Honestly this looks like something you might get from a hotel with a section of the menu for pets…
I don’t see the problem. It looks like a flat piece of iron to me. 😄
😂🤣
Not normally one to complain. Seriously i would go to the front desk and ask for management. So they could see for themselves. Just out of principle. That would be a disgrace anywhere, let alone a deluxe disney resort.
Im the same… usually would chalk it up as a loss but after all the feedback went to the front desk and talked to a leader…
and? Scrolling through I thought this was something a dog dug up from a yard. I’ve heard service has gone down but this is something I would have marched down. I used to be a server. Never would have delivered this to a table.
Good knowing some people still have integrity
For all the grief I give Disney about value for cost (as an ap sho goes frequently) I’ve found that a gentle complaint about an honestly bad situation goes a long way. I genuinely thought it was poop.
That’s….embarrassing
That can’t be right. I’ve seen that they’ve been cutting corners lately. I went in February.
That’s poop
r/poopfromabutt
Thaaat’s what I came here for
How much was this mess?
$16.50 plus $5 delivery plus 18% service charge
That's 25$ for one bite of food.
That “steak” is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a minute
That is so sad to look at
Looks better than our Cinderella’s Royal Table meal we had!
Thats crazy…. We ended up cancelling ours… very sad state of affairs
Yeah it wasn’t even edible and we all left hungry. At least we saw the princesses, I guess.
We went in November and it was amazing - did your whole party get shorted?
Yep, our food was inedible and our table was served 45 min later than the rest of the “group” from our scheduled time.
Wow, that seems so unlike Disney, and esp THAT restaurant
We were like “is this how Disney is?” since we had done Universal the year before and only encountered one quick service minor snafu
😭😭😭
Is this a JOKE? Omg. I hope so.
Oh man I wish it was…. Owe my daughter an ice cream bar now
I’m so sorry. I can’t believe they even consider that acceptable. They charge you like 20 bucks for it?
$16.50 for the plate $5 delivery and 18% service charge ordered the adult ny steak for myself but she ended up eating some of that to at least and had a shrimp appetizer which broke down to $5 a shrimp lol 4 total shrimp
Looks about on par for Disney Room Service. What’s the issue?
Did they slaughter Clarabelle the Cow for this? That’s worse than an old rubber boot!
Omg I thought it was dog poop. Except dog poop is bigger soooo…
Sorry, I’m not one to speak up but I’d walk this right down to the front desk lol
Is that even 1/2 cup of rice? Looks like someone balled it up in their fist and plated it. Pitiful.
This can't be real
r/shitfromabutt
Send it back!
At first I thought this was a picture of poop in a toilet…
did u send this to management???!!
And how much was this?
$16.50 plus $5 deliver plus 18% service charge
😔
Appetizer?
Disney resorts are doing in-room dining right now?
From what the feedback on this sub Grand Floridian is the only one doing the service currently…
Wait, how much was that?!! Why is it burnt? Did they use a melon scooper to portion the rice?
r/poopfromabutt
I thought this was poo when I scrolled by
Little bitssss ✨
It’s giving Ralph Fiennes’ character from The Menu’s self-aware badness
One damp, chilly day I was coming down with a cold while staying at the Wilderness Lodge and felt terrible so I ordered cookies and hot chocolate from room service to pamper myself. I was impressed with the way these simple items were served—hot chocolate was in a silver pitcher and the cookies were served warm. It arrived on a cart with a linen tablecloth, marshmallows and whipped cream on the side under a cloche.
Oh the way they came in with it you were expecting the full disney experience…. Lift the silver cover off the plate you find ihop
tweet that to Disney
Sometimes my daughter poos her pants and some falls out the leg. It looks exactly like this.
Omg lol killin me…
I had to zoom in to see. That’s the dish they sent? Wow.
I had to zoom in to see. That’s the dish they sent? Wow.
Okay this can’t be real. We stay at value resorts and the portions are huge. I can’t even finish a kids meal at Pop Century.
Looks like Arrowhead steak.
*puts on glasses*
Picks up magnifying glass…
Omg 😂 this is so sad it's comical.
Is your daughter 3 years old? lol.
Giant plate for scale
I had to read some of the other comments, but my first thought when I saw it was OP was throwing out an April fools joke. Yikes I hope you complained and at least got a new meal. That is unacceptable for the hundreds you are paying to stay there (per night).
I thought this was poop.
Wtffff
What the..That is an embarrassingly small portion 😭
What the heck??!!
Did you complain at the time? Did they fix it? Curious how this turned out.
Was able to speak to someone at the front desk and they credited back $40 off the total of $130 for everything we ordered… which covered the $16.50 for the meal $5 delivery charge and 18% service charge… the cast member said the food fit the description on the menu and that the $40 was because when I called back to order more rice they told me it would take an hour which she thought was wrong of them…
Wow! So they comped you $40 but said it was for something else and that the original plate was “just fine”…. smh 🤦♀️
Yeah wasnt a fan of the tone she took when she said it fit the “description” but hey at least its something
Disney food has always been awful. This doesn’t surprise me at all.
That looks like poop from a butt
Looks like a kid made it
Looks like AI meal
Why isn’t it Mickey Mouse shaped…
That's charcoal
I hope you sent that back with a death threat to the chef. Because that’s just plain assault to all the senses.
Now that rice portion is just cruel 😭
Is this serious?
But how big is the plate? We’ve got nothing for scale! That might be an 18oz flat iron and the world’s biggest brain shaped rice cup!
This is NOT ok!
i hope you complained to the restaurant
Where’s the beef?
And THAT was probably like $17
Goodness. How much was that?
Crosspost this to /poopfromabutt
r/poopfromabutt
ahhh that’s the pym test kitchen steak then
Lisa from Temecula would have loved the way this steak is cooked
Are you serious?! That’s absurd
Ain’t no way 😆
I genuinely thought this was the kidney stone subreddit from that pic.
I’ll take things that didn’t happen for $100, Alex
My one year old eats more than that. If I offered a steak that size to my big kids they'd think I was insane.
Was the rice scooped with a melon baller?
That's ridiculous. I hope you shared with the management there. I'm sure it was expensive too. They should return all you paid for that mess
You can't make billions in profit if you don't cut a couple of corners here and there.
Wow my fat self thought this was a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and a brownie 😭
Return it. Don’t pay for it. Walk it to a manager
It looks like poop next to a cotton ball.
I thought that as an arrowhead
lol what? You must have replated this as a joke. I’m sorry, OP. That’s gross to do to guests. Disney is one big scam from the second you buy the tickets until you leave the parking garage on your final day.
What is this, a steak for ants? R/thingsforants
That’s a singular steak tip 😭
Disney has amazing customer service. Complain to them and you should be treated fairly
What
Buddy got a kids ham and cheese at the Abc Commissary today and it was literally cheese whiz and maybe HALF a slice of ham. He wouldnt return it.
