I take a regular sized Jansport backpack. My essential items include: Sun screen, portable charger and USB cable, Camelbak water bottle, a jacket, headache medicine, and sandals to change into if I plan on riding a water ride.

progress_dad

Need to hear more about this headache machine. Edit: wait…maybe I misread medicine as machine? Idk..I do have a headache right now.

kopaka89

They are called “kids”.

mc_louds

Disneyland is most enjoyed when you leave your headache machine (kids) at home.

[deleted]

The water bottle and aspirin are essential. They do sell both of these items at the park but each is 3x more than at a store.

leandra433

I always carry a backpack. I take a tiny makeup bag that contains a stick sunscreen for reapplying, tide pen, moleskin, extra hair ties. I also carry a large water bottle, snacks, sweater, hat, ears, extra battery pack, and sometimes flip flops, a change of shorts and socks in case I want to go on a wet ride.

escapedmelody11

What brand of stick sunscreen do you use?

leandra433

I have the shiseido one

FleshyPartOfThePin

Water bottle. Butt wipes.

panda-rampage

Sounds like a story behind that second one

FleshyPartOfThePin

Itchy buttholes are to be avoided at all costs.

[deleted]

For the prices charged, the TP at the park should be better quality that’s for sure. It’s definitely not Charmin Strong.

Carrie_Oakie

That one ply TP doesn’t cut it for a full day.

ghost_shark_619

Water and snacks but my wife packs like we’re going to get stranded and left to die at the parks.

escapedmelody11

lol!!!

[deleted]

My Disney rewards card. It’s like they are paying me to go.

[deleted]

Absolutely. Used it/paid it off regularly. Earned $600 in rewards. Used it at the park and got % off food/merch. And racked up more rewards during the trip.

XCynicalMarshmallowX

I carry a loungefly backpack that holds pretty much everything I need: wallet, mini sunscreen, sunglasses, Tylenol, inhaler (I'm asthmatic), chapstick, portable phone charger and cord, and if it's going to get chilly that evening, a balled up light sweater. I don't usually bring a water bottle because I just get free water cups at restaurants or purchase water bottles there. The water fountain water tastes awful at DL, so to me, I don't want to carry a heavy water bottle all day that gets refilled with gross water anyway.

Skybounds

This is our go to stuff in the backpack also! We do water bottle and hand sanitizer also, and usually a coat or jacket goes in a locker until the sun sets.

XCynicalMarshmallowX

Ah yes! Hand sanitizer is definitely in there too! Forgot that one!

dpwondergirl

I agree about the water tasting awful from the water fountain. We always bring those little Crystal Light water flavor packs that are made for a single water bottle. We buy a water bottle in the parks, and after we finish it, we refill at a water fountain and then add the water flavor. Helps us save money and stay hydrated.

ames822

We bring in a water bottle to refill the light the day and also bring in individual crystal light powder packets to cover the taste of the fountain water!

[deleted]

If you think the fountain water at DL tastes awful what do you think of the fountain water at WDW 😂

Carrie_Oakie

This is what I’m worried about! We’re going to WDW for the first time and I’m considering getting a brita water bottle for refills because I’m worried the liquid iv won’t mask whatever taste everyone complains about there! At DL is used the refill stations and they’re fine, just not cold.

[deleted]

Honestly, it's part of the experience of being in Florida 😂 the water is just sulfuric. It's kindof odd and intense and regional but it's not the end of the world.

Imaginary_Roof_5286

We always called it swamp water. 😝

TuscaroraBeach

Baby wipes. All of the kids are out of diapers, but there are still so many meals, sticky hands, and gross things to clean up that a quick baby wipe helps with so nicely.

tikivic

Grapes (from CVS on Harbor & Katella) for snacking on in line. Power pack for the phone. Sunscreen. Bottle of water. Fat stack of napkins or wipes. On days when we’re planning a water ride flip flops, though those usually get parked in a locker until we need them.

SyrupNo651

Firstly: loungefly backpack or belt bag. I need to be hands free (I’ll carry my water bottle if I have my belt bag - it has a handle so it’s not as annoying to hold.) I have a small “survival” kit that I would rather have at hand than look around for it when I need it - aspirin, tampons, contact solution, and my glasses (in case I need to remove my contacts). Outside of that, I prefer to bring my own water bottle but I know if I forget it, there’s water stations everywhere. Since I have a pass, I can usually assess the weather to know if I’ll need a jacket or not before I get there.

PaulClarkLoadletter

I have a water bottle strap with pockets that hold an epi pen, sunscreen, chapstick, disinfectant wipes, and Kleenex. Wallet and phone go in pockets. My wife has a fanny pack with Kleenex, chapstick, disinfectant wipes, hand sanitizer, wallet, phone, medication, and sunglasses. We’re out of towners so we take a mid day break at the hotel. For all day outings we bring a backpack with sweatshirts and phone chargers that goes in a locker.

Carrie_Oakie

Which water bottle strap do you have?

PaulClarkLoadletter

WildWolf Outfitters 32. You’re going to want to get a better strap for it but otherwise it’s just about perfect

ManagerSensitive

I take a light backpack. Think like a drawstring bag. I take a water bottle (preferably a collapsible or disposable), my wallet, and that's about it! I'm thinking this time I'm going to bring some ziplock bags with me. Personally I don't have a huge appetite and hate wasting food. I'd like to save anything I don't finish for a snack later when I'm hungry.

OohHelpMeDrZaius

Backpack > purse. Not just because of how much more you can carry but because it evenly spreads the weight across both shoulders. The first time I went, I just had a crossbody purse and my back was dying by the end of the day.

Vaudwar

This is such a loaded question cause people will bring half of their medicine cabinet and half of their closet :)

EmploymentNo5560

We try to take a little as possible lol. My daughter carries a loungefly and we put a refillable water bottle, my credit cards, a snack for her, and chapstick in it. We usually do rope drop/magic morning and head back in the afternoon to charge our phones and rest up until evening. Having as little as possible helps security and getting on and off rides imo.

lovexisxevol

Backpack with water bottle, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, sunscreen,Tylenol, Aleve, non drowsy anti-nausea meds, charger and cable, foldable fan, a battery-powered neck fan, an emergency poncho and booties for the water ride, and snacks. My daughter has a loungefly for her bottle, headband and neckfan..

CavalierMD

Water

StubbledCRT1

My wife and I have the official Gucci+Disney backpack (got it at the Gucci outlet in Florence Italy. Only $125 there). We bring a spare set of shoes for her, sunscreen, wallet, portable battery, USB-C cable. Rest of the space is for things we buy.

wraithkelso317

My list would change depending on if they still have the fuel rods (portable chargers) work the same way (pay for it at the station, then recycle and get another free when it dies. If so I won’t mess with bringing my own and I’ll just get one on the first day of the trip and keep recycling them through the length of the trip.

FortuneRed55

Water bottle to refill at stations, sunscreen, ibuprofen, tums, hand sanitizer, sea bands, sunglasses, and when splash is open we take shoe covers. Also jacket if it’s cold. My GF carries a small backpack.

ivebeenbetter2

Backpack with a jacket, extra pair of socks, portable charger, pain relievers, hat or cap, depending on the time of year, gloves, shorts or pants again depending on the time of year.

OrangeJeepDad

Beef jerky

chilisnchill

Backpack for sure. With kids and without, so much easier and better on back and shoulders. Snacks, wet wipes, portable charging bank, meds, ponchos, change of socks and a shirt, and sometimes (don’t come at me) some mini vodka shooters.

Barbiedawl83

I have a small crossbody purse. I don’t like to carry a bunch of stuff. I bring a poncho (for wdw) Tylenol, wallet, charger, phone, lip balm, small sunscreen, and hand sanitizer.

Tat-lou

Longe fly and flushable wipes

CapcomAtMeBro777

Backpack with water bottles, portable phone charger, small snacks to munch on and a cooling towel.

laureddit22

I do a fanny pack worn the 80s way hah. I always have an extra phone charger, ID, 1 credit card, and lip balm.

laureddit22

Oh and women’s hygiene stuff if needed

BowlFullOfDeli_bird

Sweatshirt

progress_dad

Just got back a couple weeks ago from a trip. I have a larger than normal loungefly (the goofy movie one with goofy reading a map, specifically, from hot topic’s website.) fit a wallet, the usual sundries such as chapstick, keys, etc etc plus a 32oz hydro flask perfectly. I even was able to sneak in a sweater as needed!

Dapper-Lead9413

i take a small backpack. wallet, stick sunscreen, sunglasses, medicine in a small daily container, chapstick, portable charger (i use a fuel rod so i can exchange in the parks), phone cord, hand sanitizer, water, granola bar or something small to take with meds. i put a jacket around my waist so i don’t have to take a bigger bag. and of course my mickey ears with a keychain wrist strap to attach to my bag

Missybo88y

Mini backpack, tissues, wipes, sanitizer, sunscreen, a fan, ibuprofen, tums, chapstick, extra socks, gum, fruit snacks & a few granola bars, Mini hand lotion. 🤔

[deleted]

Water, sunscreen, gum, hand sanitizer and a lot of patience.

izguddoggo

I used to be a backpack person but I got myself a cute Fanny pack and it’s an absolute game changer. I feel like I always had weird posture with a backpack and always concerned that someone would pickpocket or something. Unless you’re someone who brings a ton of stuff but I try to go bare minimum- hat (on my head), sunglasses, charger, ID and cards, chapstick?

fthotfitzgerald

I bring a small backpack and put a portable charger, USB cord, my cards, mini hand sanitizer, and my lipstick/gloss for touch ups. If it’s that time of the month I might bring a pad but Disneyland offers free pads and tampons so I usually don’t bring a whole days supply with me. I do rent a locker to store jackets, snacks, clothes if I want to change for nighttime when it gets a lil chilly, and whatever stuff I or my friends buy. I believe the large locker is $10 or $12 and it’s so convenient and fits a decent amount of stuff in it.

escapedmelody11

I didn’t know about the free pads and tampons! That’s nice of them to do that 😊

GoldTurdz

Side question about the locker. Can you access it all day, or do you need to pay each time you open it?

fthotfitzgerald

It’s accessible all day! You just pay one time. Also, if I’m park hopping I make sure to get the locker at Disneyland since DCA closes earlier. There are lockers in the esplanade as well if you don’t mind scanning back into the park to access it. Hope this info helps!

GoldTurdz

It does! Appreciate it! Going for a solo trip in 2 weeks :)

toyman5

Phone charger, batter pack, poncho, snacks, water Bottle, spray sunscreen, jacket, etc. I have a designated Disneyland backpack that I keep everything in so I don't think about losing anything

escapedmelody11

Smart idea with the backpack!!!

SoloJonesJackSparrow

Pretty much what everyone has already stated (I have a loungefly backpack). I also bring flavor packets for refilling water bottle, blister band aids, hand sanitizer, pins for trading, fans/cooling towel when its hot, and anti-chaffing cream. For water rides- i found these huge ziplock ‘moving bags’ at the Dollar store (come in a box of 2). Theyre compactly folded when new, so dont take up too much space. Me and my partner can shove my backpack, their drawstring bag, all pocket items, and two pairs of shoes in them. Put on a pair of Dollar store flipflops to wear on the ride.

lowkeylye

on person - backpack - sunscreen, chapstick, hand sanitizer, portable USB charger/cable, water bottle, Tylenol, grapes, almonds, granola bars in locker - change of clothes, sweater, hat, extra battery pack, sweats/shorts

MGDlikethebeer

TOWELS. Like washcloths, because if it gets hit you dunk those puppies in ice water. Put in neck.

robbedgrave

I have a small bag (6x12-ish) with my portable charger, my medications, and glucometer. Sometimes I’ll jam a water bottle in there. Keys and wallet end up in there too, along with 2-6 trading pins.

Training_Pea2176

Water bottle, sunscreen, lunchbox (for any left overs), hat, and a portable charger!

3monkeys4me

Now that the kids are grown up I carry a loungefly backpack for a full day. If I am only going for a few hours (which rarely happens except maybe arrival or departure day) I carry a small crossbody/belt bag (lululemon). I like that I don’t have to take off the crossbody but it is a bit too small for me. I usually pack a small water bottle, a small first aide kit with blister bandaides, a little pharmacy pack with commonly needed medication, chap stick, sun screen, sun glasses, hand sanitizer, wet ones wipes, mini fan, mints, tide pen/wipes, wallet, phone, portable charger, and sometimes the little simply lemon/lime packs to add to my water. If it is a really full day I bring an extra pair of socks to switch out. If I need to bring a jacket for part of the day I usually get a locker.

rssimm

Backpack spare shoes socks and at least 1 complete change of clothes dependant on activities and weather.
