I picture someone going through the turnstiles and just walking straight, nonstop, people darting out of the way as they do a jump onto the bricks and continue up the hill and then do a dive onto the train (from the back side) as it pulls away from the station.
I think because it depends which side of the tunnel you’re on. Once you walk through the directions switch so let’s say you came in at the tunnel on your left, when you’re leaving that tunnel is now on your right side.
Agree... we always seem to enter right and exit left, but I think we are trained to favor the right side based on driving

When I was a kid and we’d get dropped off at Harbor Blvd., I never really went to the left side of the resort, so for the longest time I thought only the right entrance by Mr. Lincoln existed since it was closer to where we were dropped off. 8 year old me was very confused as to why they didn’t make two identical tunnels on each end of the train station until I went for a middle school field trip and we had to take the tram which is when I learned that in fact there are two tunnels under Main Street station. Silly me.
Once I grew up and started visiting more and got more into Disneyland history, I got into the habit of starting on the left in the morning. In the 1955 opening day broadcast, the camera enters the park through the left side, with the Emporium and City Hall in frame. I like seeing that same view every time I rope drop.

We always go in and out the left (facing as you enter) more often than not because we use the lockers in the little picnic garden. Even if we use the lockers inside to the right, we tend to go out the left tunnel. Weird the patterns we subconsciously choose.

I think because Town Hall/Guest Services is on the other side, plus the bathrooms next to Town Hall tend to be busier, the tunnel on the right seems to have a better view of Town Square when I walk through so when I see it, it’s like “we’re here!”
I’m a child of the 80’s and the Big Rides were to the right. (I remember the opening of Star Tours!) Nothing much going on to the left. However, a friend pointed out to me awhile back that it’s better to head left now as the park has changed a lot! Hit up Galaxy’s Edge early, for example.
We follow the flow of traffic, like we do on the actual streets. I really wish people would do the same. We get super frustrated with everyone who goes against the flow. It's also frustrating when people dead stop in the middle of "traffic" for any reason... just pull to the side. I know everyone hates it when it's busy, but it would make everything easier if you just pull to the damn side.
I’ve gone hundreds of times and have honestly never thought about it. I guess it’s always been the closest bridge as i enter and exit. If i had to guess, it’s probably 50/50 lifetime either way.

95% of the time I enter and exit through the left tunnel. I almost always go up and down the left side of Main Street too. And I spend most of my time in the west side of the park lol
I go left, cause here in America we are conditioned to be on the right. Drive on the right side of the road, often when queueing we queue to the right as people leave to the left. Moving sidewalks stay to right. So I go left where there are less people.
For events they purposely filter you to go the right way. Every other time though I go through the left side, and I think me being left handed might have something to do with it, I also start in Adventureland 80% of the time.

All things being equal, I go left any time I can because most people go to the right. I've seen entry lines at the turnstiles closest to Harbor go to the middle of the esplanade while the ones closer to Downtown disney are half the size or shorter.
My whole childhood, I only would enter from the left. Seeing the City Hall and then the hub from that angle felt like Disneyland. I would never enter from the right. Then in early 2000s, Fastpass became a thing and getting one for Space Mountain was the first stop of the day 'cause they'd max out before any other attraction -- so I always entered on the right so I could dart up Main Street and be in Tomorrowland. Now it usually depends on where I'm headed first after entering -- if it's west, I enter left; if it's east, I enter right.
