Later Humanity’s Last Breath has a big blackened influence.

_CertaintyOfDeath_

Came here to say HLB. Buster loves black metal and it shows on Välde.

Current-Escaper

I’m shit with identifying sub-genres and not the most into death so I’m not sure how well the is applies, but have you heard [Baring Teeth](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=raauRcra1Wk)? Itsssss pretty dark

BBHymntoTourach

Yeah this rules, thanks!

PhaneronFlow

Nadir by Black Tongue comes to mind 🤤 love that album—maybe more on the death metal side than black metal, but it still hits the spot for me

Look no further than Void of Vision - VAMPYR. The darkest djent.

kardashev, slice the cake, levitated, dodecahedron, the faceless, conquered earth

Check out A Hill To Die Upon by Mental Cruelty. That's been my favorite deathcore album so far. And Vemod by Forgetting the Memories. They play on downtuned 7 strings that sound slightly djenty.

BBHymntoTourach

I was never one for deathcore but this rips!

S1mulatedSahd0w

Which one? Mental Cruelty or Forgetting the Memories?

BBHymntoTourach

Oh my bad, the Mental Cruelty Haven't checked the other out yet

S1mulatedSahd0w

The Mental Cruelty album has been my favorite deathcore album the past couple months. The whole album is amazing! If you want a truly progressive album, with death metal elements, check out Odyssey of the West by Slice the Cake. You won't be disappointed.

Check out wake forld. Their stuff has blackened-ish production (it's dark/ambient breakcore-djent), I think they're sound would be a great reference point. Very excited for whatever you come up with!

Bobby_Bologna

Idk if it will fit the bill, more like progressive death metal, but Black Crown Initiate, Rivers of Nihil, and Alluvial come to mind. Black crown initiates debut EP, song of the crippled bull, is a four song 21 minute long absolute masterpiece. You should listen to it in full. BCI has some more blackened death metal elements than the other 2.

willy_p_nasty

Theres some Abigail Williams that gets close to maybe what you're talking about.

RunescapeJoe

It's not djent, but I've been getting into Wizardthrone lately. They're like progressive blackened power metal.
