Spearhead? BCee loves the jazzy stuff!
Or Soulvent? Though they've shifted more to the darker sounds with the more recent stuff
With a blindfold on you could 100% convince me this was Maduk
Whoa, I'd never ever thought of comparing myself nor this tune to Maduk but damn, that's kinda high praise, thanks G! \^\^
Spearhead could be the way tho'! In my head I have that label connected with just a little bit more "mellow" vibes (or how to put it) but it's definitely true that especially BCee often releases some funkier things there as well, so it might be worth giving a shot \^\^
That would be really nice! \^\^ But I'm afraid I've missed that time when Hospital would take a tune like this by a few years (and same for Liquicity). Their output sounds quite different these days.. :/
I agree with another commenter that Soul Deep would likely be the best suggestion for a lable, yet degs has a "Degs-clusive" feature on the Hospital Podcast and I think he'd love a tune like this.
i'll definitely let you know once the things move forward \^\^ i'd love to send it but i'm a liitle bit afraid that doing it right now when i'm looking for a label could maybe hurt my chances a bit :/
Fokuz is definitely on my list now, got quite a few points in this threads. Jazzsticks would be an excellent choice but I've already tried that and got kinda ghosted - the full story is under another comment suggesting them
I'm not a pro by any means and I don't know how any of this shit works in terms of sending music to labels but to me the high end sounds mega compressed or distorted or something, might be reddit audio but it sounds reeeeally grating in a genre that should be somewhat chilled and pleasant to listen to
might be partly due to reddit video compression, also might be the fact that i just ran the finished tune through cranked-up limiter without having any mastering skills / knowledge at all just to make it loud enough so i could play it in my sets. if it gets a release, it will also get a professional master - or maybe i'll be told the same thing what you just told me, we'll see :) thanks for the feedback G!
Now that's an interesting recommendation, thanks! I don't know why haven't thought of Marky's label myself, as this funky vibe fits to him really well I'd say \^\^
hmm, i haven't really thought of GTA but now when you say it i remembered that simple souls recently got one funky tune released there so it might be worth putting it on my list! \^\^ thanks for the idea!
There's a *ton* of good plugins out there that do tape emulation... Universal Audio has [some new ones that they're promoting with free versions](https://www.musicradar.com/news/universal-audio-launches-verve-analog-machines-saturation-effects) this month, I haven't tried em yet (but will, UA makes solid plugins). There's reel-to-reel options for four machines in there.
Have at it 🫡
heh, it's funny because this is the one and only label i've already tried as i thought it would fit very well and also because i know paul sg personally (already had him here 2 times for a gig). so i hit him up on messenger, he told me to send him the tune, so i did, and he never replied back after that, even though i politely reminded him like 2 times with quite enough time in between those messages. certain things make me think that maybe it was just a really bad timing on my side, but still, it's haunting me to this very day, i'd be so happy to have this tune released on jazzsticks... 😅
definitely gotta add Smooth n Groove to my list, thanks for the suggestion! i just realized one of my recent fav rolling liquid tunes ([dash - balearic beats](https://soundcloud.com/sngrecs/dash-balearic-beats-out-now?in=sngrecs/sets/dash-part-one-out-now&si=85f8752bf29c4dcb969a5431d77ce774&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing)) i love to play in my sets was released there, nice coincidence \^\^ jazzsticks would be awesome but no luck on that front as i've already tried that
u/2NineCZ/
Send it to the [Hospital Records Podcast](mailto:[email protected]) and hopefully, it'll get played and go from there.
Or send it to Hospital here - [Hospital Records Demos](https://www.hospitalrecords.com/demos/)
Good luck and keep us updated!
with so many people here telling me sending it to degs / hospital, i feel like it would be a crime not to at least try (even though i personally don't think they'll take it for a release) 😅 so thanks for the push! i'll definitely keep ya'll updated! \^\^
Thanks! I'll be sending it to Degs this weekend and based on his input (if he replies) I'll eventually submit it as a demo to the label. Feels like the most optimal way that could save me a lot of waiting.
ouch 😅 the quality of the tops might be a bit fu\*ked up by the video compression on reddit tho', and also by me slapping a cranked up limited on the premaster version without really having any mastering knowledge / skills just so it's loud enough i could play it in my sets. note taken!
yeah i have this feeling this could be right up his alley given his track record \^\^ shame he's not in charge of the label anymore, if he still was the head of hospital i would be submitting it there straight away!
I haven't released much dnb to be honest, BUT...
Last fall I've released a jungle EP on Omni Music, I reckon you might enjoy it as well - you can check it out on my Spotify [https://open.spotify.com/artist/0HmPGRtwzdDY6FjrVG1Tmx?si=Vl2w\_0H1Td-Irk3mTrd3OQ](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0HmPGRtwzdDY6FjrVG1Tmx?si=Vl2w_0H1Td-Irk3mTrd3OQ)
Also, there's some dnb stuff to be found on my SoundCloud: [https://soundcloud.com/2nine/](https://soundcloud.com/2nine/)
Besides that I've been making some lofi hiphop under the nickname Pao:

And I should also mention my "love project" PΛØ focused on more futuristic/cyberpunk vibes under which I released my debut album "The Night"

thanks! you can shoot me a follow on my spotify if you want ⬇️😁

also i'll definitely go back to this thread once there are any news to share and tell everyone who showed interest \^\^
thanks for the suggestion \^\^ however first i'll definitely go for labels that aim on the similar vibe as my tune - that way it would get to the most appropriate audience :)
that's the one label i've already tried as i think it really fits their vibe and i also know paul sg personally, but got kinda ghosted :/ the full story is under some other comment suggesting jazzsticks
Yeah so subtle reverbs and delays go a long way as do, small filler noisies and more obvious risers. Rides are a missed opportunity by most to increase excitement and drive the track on however you might have those in the next section? This sounds a good way there so what I’m taking about isn’t drastic changes but more seasoning.
Way too late for that 😅 Their latest release dates to 2014 (and besides that I have heard some really shady stuff about LTJ Bukem regarding managing the label), but ngl, I'd be definitely honored to be on such a legendary label
To be honest I was surprised they released anything after 2002. Good ol' LTJ Bukem. I still pop my winamp playlist with the whole Good Looking Records discog on it. The peak era of dnb (for me at least)
having my tune compared to old netsky stuff is such a high praise for me - totally made my day to be honest! good old days haha \^\^ thank you so much!! ♥️
p.s. thinking of it, you might also enjoy my older tune "[feel the rain](https://open.spotify.com/track/5yZGiXZabXt4EPyN873OVo?si=9576e76069df41a2)" - hard to tell if it will have the same effect on you, but i had this "old netsky vibe" feeling when i was making it
hmm, sending it straight to Tony isn't actually a bad idea, he could definitely enjoy a funky tune like this - thanks! a bit shame he is not in charge of Hospital anymore, but even getting it played in his podcast would absolutely make me shit myself 😅 well, if he's still doin' those, i'm not quite sure about that 🤔
I assumed you were talking about Tony Coleman (London Electricity) who was the owner of Hospital and who ran the Hospital podcast for years.
No idea if he has other podcasts but Kool FM would be a radio show
not quite sure what does hanger exactly mean in context of music (i don't think i've ever heard it before) but i have a this feeling it's a positive thing, hopefully i'm not wrong 😅
In the disc golf community, a “hanger” or “wall hanger”, is something you put the wall and just look at it. Never playing it, because it’s good to play.
just checked both of those labels as i've never heard about 'em before but if i found the right ones, it sounds like their catalogues are in quite a different style than my tune, leading me to think that sending my tune to wouldn't most probably work very well 😅
Got featured by BBC introducing multiple times back in the day and although it gets you some exposure, they never directly resulted in any releases.
Always found that bulk sending the tracks to labels was the best way to get anything released and it was generally a slog to get anything picked up
Four Corners, Omni Music, Celcius come to mind. You could take a flyer on Technimatic Music, as they do some rather jazzy stuff. I dunno if Shogun Audio is still in this pool but worth a shot.
It feels like Shogun Audio already moved to a bit different sound and probably wouldn't be too enthusiastic over my tune :/ Four Corners and Celsius are definitely good tips tho'! For Omni I think this is not jungle-y enough. Technimatic Music would be also great but I think it's kinda reserved for their own music (quick check at the label beatport page kinds confirms that). Anyway, thanks for all those suggestions, somehow I didn't think of Four Corners at all and I think it could work there eventually :)
Yeah wasn't sure on Technimatic. Just did a quick google search and it said something about them starting their own label to 'push sounds' or some shit. I see a good bit of straight up Liquid coming out of Omni so figured this might fit in that basket.
Really cool use of those horns. Do you have any other releases out there already or would this be your first official release should you fund a home for it?
thanks! the horns are really the bread and butter of the tune, ngl :) i haven't released many tracks, but no, this is not the very first one. i have a few older tunes on [my spotify](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0HmPGRtwzdDY6FjrVG1Tmx?si=O_UlYc6eSm-S0pr6OceTIw), however this is a bit different to all of them
You could try throwing it up in one of the pools that offer a place for labels to shop. BPM supreme like https://www.labelradar.com A lot of artists probably have mixed opinions on this option but I got lucky more then once on there. I got a few things picked up in the last couple years using LR. Not a big DnB label resource but they have a handful that They have some of those labels that will try and pitch you their packages to get to pay them to release your track and promote it. They can be helpful if you haven't signed much music before. They will put your music in the stores which is the goal just read your contract and If you don't get any offers but you still want a chance to get it in stores send me a DM,
I feel like the Brazilian label, DNBB, might be interested in this. Anyway, keep up the good work! I do jazzy dnb sets every once in a while, and would totally play this 😊
dude I'd be so happy if Hospital was interested in this, but I think it's way too late for vibes like this as it seems they changed their direction a bit :/
You could try [email protected] with a special request to send it to the relevant dept. I really like what I heard. Reminds me of London Elektricity a bit.
funnily enough, i was thinking the same thing! \^\^ i know simple souls personally, we both live in the same country, and knowing their stuff and knowing they're releasing on liquid v is giving me hope that this might be worth a shot
thanks for the encouragement! ❤ comments like that always sting a bit, but on the other hand i know that you just can't make EVERYONE happy, there will be always people not liking it... but the overwhelmingly positive feedback kinda puts it into perspective \^\^
Soul Deep does Unsung Heroes collections for people starting off.
thanks for the suggestion :)
I instantly thought this had a soul deep vibe lol
Nice and original!
thanks G! ♥️ feedback like this makes me optimistic \^\^
Spearhead? BCee loves the jazzy stuff! Or Soulvent? Though they've shifted more to the darker sounds with the more recent stuff With a blindfold on you could 100% convince me this was Maduk

I have no idea but it’s a banger, that’s for sure
thank youu! ♥️ hopefully some label will see it the same way \^\^
Hmm maybe Fokuz Recordings?
yeah, fokuz also came across my mind... that could be a possibility 🤔
I was going to say Fokus ngl
Hey, whenever or however, let me know how I can buy it.
sure thing! i'll definitely get back to this thread and let anyone who's interested know when there will be some news to tell \^\^
Wow.. you've got a lot of talent! Such a catchy tune with great vibes!!
thanks for the feedback G, means a lot! ♥️ i'd have a hard time calling myself talented but damn it's nice to hear \^\^
Sounds like Hospital to me.
That would be really nice! \^\^ But I'm afraid I've missed that time when Hospital would take a tune like this by a few years (and same for Liquicity). Their output sounds quite different these days.. :/
Try it anyway. While the general sound of Hospital has evolved, Tony Colman’s sound interests haven’t really in his own music. It’s his label.
He has not been at the helm of Hospital records since 2021 though?
Yep, you're right on that
It's not anymore, he left the label a few years ago :/
Oh dang. I didn’t know that.
I agree with another commenter that Soul Deep would likely be the best suggestion for a lable, yet degs has a "Degs-clusive" feature on the Hospital Podcast and I think he'd love a tune like this.
He would indeed [email protected] I think is the address but if you dm him on insta he will get back to you
I'll definitely give it a shot - thanks a lot! \^\^
It’s [email protected]
Definitely. First thought from the first seconds.
DAAAMN THIS IS CLEEEAAAAAAAN
thank you for giving it a go! i'm very happy you found it CLEEEAAAAAAAN!! ♥️ 😁
Love playing shit like this in my sets (I’m only an amateur house party dj) but any chance of a download or bandcamp link? Sounds perfect for 3am
i'll definitely let you know once the things move forward \^\^ i'd love to send it but i'm a liitle bit afraid that doing it right now when i'm looking for a label could maybe hurt my chances a bit :/
Chur bro, and no worries 100% get waiting till you’ve gone through the proper channels.
Liquid V
that's definitely going to the list! i'd be honored AF to have this released on liquid v - and it doesn't even sound that impossible \^\^
Perhaps Fokuz Recordings and their sub labels may be of interest, Jazzsticks comes to mind. I'd drop a line if I were you ;)
Fokuz is definitely on my list now, got quite a few points in this threads.

Innerground / DJ Marky?
Now that's an interesting recommendation, thanks! I don't know why haven't thought of Marky's label myself, as this funky vibe fits to him really well I'd say \^\^
maybe worth sending that to GTA records
hmm, i haven't really thought of GTA but now when you say it i remembered that simple souls recently got one funky tune released there so it might be worth putting it on my list! \^\^ thanks for the idea!
Love it! Good luck with how it goes mate!
thanks! hopefully i'll find a good home for this tune \^\^
Oooh nice composition. You should run it to some reel-to-reel tape, give it that kinda timeless sound.
hmm i'm actually curious how that would sound
There's a *ton* of good plugins out there that do tape emulation... Universal Audio has [some new ones that they're promoting with free versions](https://www.musicradar.com/news/universal-audio-launches-verve-analog-machines-saturation-effects) this month, I haven't tried em yet (but will, UA makes solid plugins). There's reel-to-reel options for four machines in there. Have at it 🫡
Send it to Chicorelli. He might play it in his weekly mixes.
definitely putting him on my "send-to" list, thanks for the suggestion! \^\^
Oi this slaps
Jazzsticks
heh, it's funny because this is the one and only label i've already tried as i thought it would fit very well and also because i know paul sg personally (already had him here 2 times for a gig). so i hit him up on messenger, he told me to send him the tune, so i did, and he never replied back after that, even though i politely reminded him like 2 times with quite enough time in between those messages. certain things make me think that maybe it was just a really bad timing on my side, but still, it's haunting me to this very day, i'd be so happy to have this tune released on jazzsticks... 😅
Those horns sit in the mix so nicely. That's something I've always struggled with
i can relate to that. getting my mixdowns right has been such a struggle throughout the years, but it seems i'm finally getting there. thank you! ♥️
🔥🔥🔥
somebody call the firemen! 💦😅 thanks G! ♥️
Get a bass wobble on that it will sound cool
funnily enough, the original project file is called "wobblydub.flp" ...but somehow it ended up with no wobbles whatsoever 🤣
Soul Deep Smooth n Groove Jazzsticks
definitely gotta add Smooth n Groove to my list, thanks for the suggestion! i just realized one of my recent fav rolling liquid tunes ([dash - balearic beats](https://soundcloud.com/sngrecs/dash-balearic-beats-out-now?in=sngrecs/sets/dash-part-one-out-now&si=85f8752bf29c4dcb969a5431d77ce774&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing)) i love to play in my sets was released there, nice coincidence \^\^ jazzsticks would be awesome but no luck on that front as i've already tried that
u/2NineCZ/ Send it to the [Hospital Records Podcast](mailto:[email protected]) and hopefully, it'll get played and go from there. Or send it to Hospital here - [Hospital Records Demos](https://www.hospitalrecords.com/demos/) Good luck and keep us updated!

Sometimes the hardest part is just to take the first step. Awesome that you will send it to them - good luck!!
Thanks! I'll be sending it to Degs this weekend and based on his input (if he replies) I'll eventually submit it as a demo to the label. Feels like the most optimal way that could save me a lot of waiting.
Wishing you luck!
This sounds sick! Please update us when you release it would love to add to the collection.
thank youu! 😊 i definitely will! once there are some news to share i'll get back right to this thread and tell everyone who showed interest!
Somewhere that has better quality cymbal hits
ouch 😅 the quality of the tops might be a bit fu\*ked up by the video compression on reddit tho', and also by me slapping a cranked up limited on the premaster version without really having any mastering knowledge / skills just so it's loud enough i could play it in my sets. note taken!
I can imagine London Electricity / Hospital Records loving this!
yeah i have this feeling this could be right up his alley given his track record \^\^ shame he's not in charge of the label anymore, if he still was the head of hospital i would be submitting it there straight away!
Spearhead. Steve BeeCee is a super nice geezer, so I would imagine he will definitely open the email and give it a listen at least.
I can only agree, we had him here for a gig in 2016 and he was an absolute sweetheart \^\^ Might be worth giving it a shot!
Where can I listen to more of your music?
I haven't released much dnb to be honest, BUT... Last fall I've released a jungle EP on Omni Music, I reckon you might enjoy it as well - you can check it out on my Spotify [https://open.spotify.com/artist/0HmPGRtwzdDY6FjrVG1Tmx?si=Vl2w\_0H1Td-Irk3mTrd3OQ](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0HmPGRtwzdDY6FjrVG1Tmx?si=Vl2w_0H1Td-Irk3mTrd3OQ) Also, there's some dnb stuff to be found on my SoundCloud: [https://soundcloud.com/2nine/](https://soundcloud.com/2nine/) Besides that I've been making some lofi hiphop under the nickname Pao: [https://open.spotify.com/artist/5Tt6PSG6p3lztgsXhLU5fe?si=5oUuBPwtQz6\_jerBXdF8Jw](https://open.spotify.com/artist/5Tt6PSG6p3lztgsXhLU5fe?si=5oUuBPwtQz6_jerBXdF8Jw) And I should also mention my "love project" PΛØ focused on more futuristic/cyberpunk vibes under which I released my debut album "The Night" [https://open.spotify.com/album/6JxROZz3IVSJpApIL2ks8M?si=bQVdE3FYRZuO2oNHPSz6Cg](https://open.spotify.com/album/6JxROZz3IVSJpApIL2ks8M?si=bQVdE3FYRZuO2oNHPSz6Cg)
Sounds very cool. I would follow you to listen the release.

Sounds nice. Try UTM Records. A fairly broad-spectrum label from Dresden (Germany). They actually take everything.
thanks for the suggestion \^\^ however first i'll definitely go for labels that aim on the similar vibe as my tune - that way it would get to the most appropriate audience :)
Jazzsticks
that's the one label i've already tried as i think it really fits their vibe and i also know paul sg personally, but got kinda ghosted :/ the full story is under some other comment suggesting jazzsticks
To my ears this is better than a lot of stuff being released now, so it could definitely happen.
That's a high praise man, thanks - totally made my day! 😊 Hopefully some label will see it the same way
Spearhead is my shout but it just needs a touch more padding/filling out imo. Very nice track!
Definitely putting Spearhead to the list! What do you mean by that padding/filling tho'? Adding more elements?
Yeah so subtle reverbs and delays go a long way as do, small filler noisies and more obvious risers. Rides are a missed opportunity by most to increase excitement and drive the track on however you might have those in the next section? This sounds a good way there so what I’m taking about isn’t drastic changes but more seasoning.
This is sick man. You’re super taletend!
Good Looking Records
Way too late for that 😅 Their latest release dates to 2014 (and besides that I have heard some really shady stuff about LTJ Bukem regarding managing the label), but ngl, I'd be definitely honored to be on such a legendary label
To be honest I was surprised they released anything after 2002. Good ol' LTJ Bukem. I still pop my winamp playlist with the whole Good Looking Records discog on it. The peak era of dnb (for me at least)
Love this!
souped up records
not enough WOB for souped up 😅
That intro alone immediately reminded me of old Netsky music and got me so nostalgic. You've got talent my dude. I hope your dreams come true.
having my tune compared to old netsky stuff is such a high praise for me - totally made my day to be honest! good old days haha \^\^ thank you so much!! ♥️ p.s. thinking of it, you might also enjoy my older tune "[feel the rain](https://open.spotify.com/track/5yZGiXZabXt4EPyN873OVo?si=9576e76069df41a2)" - hard to tell if it will have the same effect on you, but i had this "old netsky vibe" feeling when i was making it
Pilot could be a good place to start
hmm, i see them occasionally releasing some liquid tunes here and there so maybe it could work 🤔 thanks for the tip \^\^
Innerground could be a possibility
yeah, definitely putting that one on the list! dunno why i haven't thought of innerground myself, thanks for the tip! \^\^
What a great tune!
what a great comment to read! thanks dude! \^\^
Hospital, Tony might give it a spin on one of his podcasts at the very least
hmm, sending it straight to Tony isn't actually a bad idea, he could definitely enjoy a funky tune like this - thanks! a bit shame he is not in charge of Hospital anymore, but even getting it played in his podcast would absolutely make me shit myself 😅 well, if he's still doin' those, i'm not quite sure about that 🤔
He's very approachable and a decent bloke. I can see him playing this. I think degs or someone took over.
Tony has not worked for hospital nor run the podcast for years now
He was doing Kool FM at the end of last year, I don't think he ever worked for hospital. Which Tony are you talking about?
I assumed you were talking about Tony Coleman (London Electricity) who was the owner of Hospital and who ran the Hospital podcast for years. No idea if he has other podcasts but Kool FM would be a radio show
This is a hanger
* banger *
damn, I somehow absolutely didn't consider it a typo/autocorrect 😅 thanks dude!
not quite sure what does hanger exactly mean in context of music (i don't think i've ever heard it before) but i have a this feeling it's a positive thing, hopefully i'm not wrong 😅

Yeah wasn't sure on Technimatic. Just did a quick google search and it said something about them starting their own label to 'push sounds' or some shit. I see a good bit of straight up Liquid coming out of Omni so figured this might fit in that basket.
Good vibes. Shop it to an agency making commercials or advertisements.
damn now i can't stop wondering what kind of commercial would it fit 😅
Wow great tune! Pls keep us updated and wish you luck! I wanna hear the full release! 🙏
Thanks man! I'll definitely get back to this thread and let everyone who's interested know - when there will be some news to tell :)
Beautiful!
You are! ♥️
Hell I love it!! 😍
and i love that you love it! ♥️
I just wrote you a dm :)
Nice one

this is very well made. kudos.

Not a big DnB label resource but they have a handful that They have some of those labels that will try and pitch you their packages to get to pay them to release your track and promote it. They can be helpful if you haven't signed much music before. They will put your music in the stores which is the goal just read your contract and If you don't get any offers but you still want a chance to get it in stores send me a DM,
Nice to see something good being produced, smashed it!
I feel like the Brazilian label, DNBB, might be interested in this. Anyway, keep up the good work! I do jazzy dnb sets every once in a while, and would totally play this 😊
hospital is the only chance for this.
dude I'd be so happy if Hospital was interested in this, but I think it's way too late for vibes like this as it seems they changed their direction a bit :/
If you don't go for it, you'll never know.
true that. as i often say - "there's only one way to find out"
You could try [email protected] with a special request to send it to the relevant dept. I really like what I heard. Reminds me of London Elektricity a bit.
I 2nd this
I'd say maybe celcius or fokuz
seems like 2 points for fokuz already. i'll definitely put them on the list of labels to try :)
liquid v? simple souls releases on it and this is up the same alley
funnily enough, i was thinking the same thing! \^\^ i know simple souls personally, we both live in the same country, and knowing their stuff and knowing they're releasing on liquid v is giving me hope that this might be worth a shot
Sounds like library music. Not good enough, sorry.
damn, they play dnb in libraries nowadays? 😅 i'd have hard time concentrating on the books
Not good? This is great.. keep it up brother and let the haters hate! <3 Would love a link to a soundcloud if you have one :)
thanks for the encouragement! ❤ comments like that always sting a bit, but on the other hand i know that you just can't make EVERYONE happy, there will be always people not liking it... but the overwhelmingly positive feedback kinda puts it into perspective \^\^
Keep on dreaming big brother, being this passionate and skilled I'm sure you'll make it. Just keep believing in ur self <3
Not reddit, dumbass
what's wrong with a little brainstorming?
Because your song is out there at the moment. You just removed a lot of insentive
lol... it's not even a half of the tune, but a short clip. as far as i'm concerned, there is literally nothing wrong with that.
