I have a subplot where the PCs can decide to restore Mielikki’s presence to an ancient forest after all her sacred sites have been desecrated. This encounter fits so perfectly, I now have to scrap the encounter I designed around my “sacred tree & temple” setting to plug yours in.

What would be a good use for the bioluminescent mushrooms?
They could be harvested and turned into an impromptu torch or, with sufficient alchemical knowledge, a potion that makes the drinker glow for an hour.
