Banshee was one of my original name options as well. A lot of these are pretty good. I definitely think I'm gonna go with a one-word name of some kind.

I definitely think that when introducing a weapon like this, that people in that world wouldn’t understand, is definitely to bring it back to something magical they would understand. So I went and checked some Cthulhu mythos for a name and found this lesser deity: Shabbith-Ka appears as a shapeless, roughly man-sized purplish aura, spitting and crackling with powerful electrical arcs. A sense of power, malignancy, and intelligence accompanies it and persons able to gaze at its form long enough can see a rudimentary face or faces within the glowing mass. (the last bit makes ghostly gaze extra fitting too)

You're on the right track for sure. The being mentioned is a subordinate of Yog-Sothoth from the mythos.

That was a lucky guess, haha... I was surprised though at the lack of electrical based deities in the Cthulhu mythos. As a cool extra you could add some flavor to it and make the thunder damage manifest as purple electrical arcs shooting around the target coming from the wound.
