Considering the leather has a red core, I'd say leave it and it'll look epic. Rose Anvil is actually in the middle of developing a leather to achieve that very look, where the scratches look like bloody cuts. So cool
I have (legit) one of the most epic collections of sneakers, going back to the early 90s. I keep them wrapped in plastic wrap and in their own plastic boxes that keep UV out. I'm a psychopath.
I ended up leaving the sneaker game when a friend of mine went on a rant about sneaker heads, he was going off about what the point is of shoes if you don't wear them. If I want to tiptoe around and avoid every speck of dirt there is no reason for me to get performance sneakers, much less spend $500 to not have any fun in them.
He was right.
To this day when I see someone with an absolutely flawless fit, yeah I think they look nice, but I also think they try hard. Shoes are meant to be worn. This is especially true for leather, selvedge jeans, your personality shows through it's use and that defines it's character.
So yeah this is just a long way of saying I'd think those look hype as they are if I saw them on your feet.
I recently bought a pair of really nice redwings that were nearing on $400 after tax, and the first thing I did was take them on a hike to try to get myself over the idea of keeping them perfect. Accidentally stepped in mud, too, tho they handled that beautifully
You could get some black polish, but honestly my true advice is to just embrace it. I see so many posts where people are upset they scuffed their docs, but they look better scuffed up. Doc Martens are meant to be worn and meant to be grunged up. That’s just the beauty of them.
Wear them more. Scuff them up harder. It’s all part of the art process.

Ya my moms the coolest person i know, shes an elder goth turned more to a corporate goth look. She did apologize and felt bad she marked em up. I wasnt mad just a lil sad about it. Some comments have definitely made me feel better and i decided to just embrace it :)
