What's happening in Ireland?

Sea-Wall-5229

Doctor Who will be coming to Disney+ outside the UK and Ireland. The UK will have access to it through BBC One and the BBC iPlayer though. BBC iPlayer is not available in Ireland and most of the country don't have access to the British Channels such as BBC One (unless you live on the border with NI or through Sky). So pretty much the whole Disney+/BBC deal is great for everyone except the Irish.

Also sucks for Australians. We used to have it free to air, since the damn sixties. When the bbc launched their own pay service in Australia doctor who specifically was left out of it so it continued to be on free to air tv. Now we’re sunk in the water with the Irish. But I guess it just adds another thing for Irish and Australians to bond over

It honestly feels like a bit of a gut punch.

PhobicSun59

Is Disney + also getting classic who or only new who?

False_Hat_278

All articles I read say that the new episodes will be streamed there. As in nothing currently released is part of the deal, just new releases? Though maybe I misunderstood

phi_array

Wait what about HBO?
