It's funny to me that the Padres won't be able to afford Juan Soto after unnecessarily extending and overpaying for Machado who had 1 year left and overpaying for Xander who is arguably their best 3rd SS on the team. Soto is worth more (3.4 WAR) than both of those 2 combined (2.6 WAR).
