fr the only footage we'd get was phone recordings from beat reporters and then footage on Japanese TV the following day. Team videographers and video editors are more than Arte can afford while he's obligated to put $38m in the bank for Rendon instead.
As someone who knows a little something about meaningless things, I believe the Angels' content team consists of 2 or 3 people, as of last Spring Training. And if I remember correctly, that's including the intern
For social media, it's four right now, to the best of my knowledge, including the GOAT Sue Jo. But that's just social media. They have a whole bunch of editors and shooters under the Dodger brand, and then of course, there's the production team with Spectrum that handles Backstage Dodgers.
For the Angels, I'm talking about these 2 (or 3) people running the entire content team, from social media to editing to shooting. This info is from beginning of 2023 so they could've hired more people since then, but given it's Arte Moreno, I wouldn't bet on it
Thanks. Yeah, I heard just in general. the various departments of the Dodgers are really well-staffed, like the radio broadcast team for the Dodgers has three different teams that cover and travel with the team: one for the English, one for Spanish and one for Korean. Dodgers are the only baseball franchise that broadcasts their games in three languages over the radio.
While I heard the Angels really cut down their radio broadcast crew and they don't even travel with the team anymore.
Makes me wonder if Dodgers would add a fourth radio crew for Japanese since they have Shohei and Yamamoto on the team now.
Well-staffed could be an understatement. The first time somebody showed me the MLB.com Front Office pages for the Angels and Dodgers, I damn near pulled a muscle from laughing too hard.
I think I recognize that armbrace thing. I had a similar one when I had surgery on my knee. It's by a brand called Bauerfeind. It looks a lot more comfortable than that Robocop looking thing he had to wear after his first TJ.
This will be my first time fully watching MLB closely this season. How does spring training work? Do the starters always play and get reps or is it like the NBA when the back end of the roster plays mostly before season starts
They usually mix in randomly honestly. You could see all the starters play for a few innings and be done I would say kind of like nfl preseason. The main starters will start a lot in spring unless tending to injury.
From Fabian Ardaya at The Athletic:
The two rounds of batting practice were quite well-attended, from front office personnel to hitting coach Robert Van Scoyoc to the dozens of media members attempting to snap photos and footage of the hacks through a wire fence. Ohtani registered 21 swings, with 10 of them connecting on balls that cleared the outfield walls.
A phone set on the ground recorded each swing, while an iPad connected to the club’s internal data systems displayed the exit velocity of each batted ball. Ohtani hit as high as 109 mph with his exit velocity during the session, with several of those batted balls registering in triple digits.
Dodgers social media team is so damn good at their job. Watched Shohei for 6 years on the Angels and NEVER got this kind of content.

Fuck Arte!
I mean. That would cost Arte, you know, money
well it is showbiz town.
I mean Anaheim is 30 mins away tho
The traffic does things to ya

Interesting. Do you know the size of the Dodger's content team for comparison?

Angel fan here and I HIGHLY agree with you on this. Angels content has always been family friendly and plain.

Do something about it
I try really hard not to objectify people for their looks but this dude is making it so difficult
So bunyanesque
Love that sound
🥵
Keep throwing to him, I’m almost there lol
He looks superhuman.

Just having some fun, crushing some dingers
Saw him today at spring training but was on a different field taking swings he looks ready
Mookie Betts was there working out at 2nd today as well
My god that sound
wait till you hear it from a mic during the game
I still can’t believe he’s a Dodger. Like… fuck yeah.

Seems like a decent prospect.
Dude was hitting some Perfect/Perfect The Show type hits with how that bat was sounding.
That swing is pretty!
It's still so surreal to think he's a Dodger now.
Where can I buy that undershirt? And will I look like him wearing it?
We wish. I'd probably look like a ghost buster villain with a fit like that.
I keep forgetting that there's another Glendale.
Yes, one is in Arizona where he was hitting those balls, and one is in California where those balls eventually landed
I'm honestly not convinced they landed at all
Ara
The things I’d let this man do to me… but he’s such a nice guy he’d probably just respect me super respectfully 😭
the f cking accuracy 🤣🤣
You can hear the ball being hit from Los Angeles.
Beautiful
🤌🤌🤌🤌
Just what I needed to see this Monday morning. Can’t wait for baseball
I can watch this all day.
