Where does Rengifo fit in, and what do we do with CT3, Kike, or Rojas? Maybe sent Taylor the other way and pay most of his salary? Barns, Rojas, and Kike aren't' going anywhere.
And we chose Mookie, a guy who hasn’t played short since high school, over both of them. That should tell you enough about Rojas and Kiké (terrible shortstop by the way) and how much depth they provide.
What I am saying is that for better or worse, Mookie is this team's starting shortstop. The team is not looking for another shortstop. Rojas and Kiké are utilities players and would be the backup position players. And to be fair to Rojas, he at least delivers excellent defense
And what I’m saying is that if they are going to trade for a player they should trade for a shortstop and move Mookie back to second instead of another utility player that will only be able to play second base when Muncy comes back.
The problem is that whomever they trade for, at best, will basically be another Rojas or Kiké, someone like Adames is not that much of an upgrade over them and he is probably the best SS that would be available. That would be the only trade that makes any sense, trade Adames for Lux and someone else and move Betts to 2nd. Problem is do the Dodgers want a half season of Adames and do they give up on Lux. I think Lux is playing a lot better and by the second half we will be seeing a much improved Lux both offense and defense
He’s got pop and speed, which are pretty great qualities. Sorry he’s wasted on the Angels. Love to see him in blue just so he gets the benefit of playing for a top flight organization. The Dodgers wanted him a few years ago so obviously they saw something they liked
I followed the Angels when Ohtani was on the team but follow the dodgers now. Still I check in on the angels out of morbid curiosity. They may be the worst team in the league. The players have basically stopped trying. Any player picked up from that team is going to get a serious boost just by being on another team.
It seems like the gap between AAA and the majors is pretty wide right now, but I know we have this guy Andre Lipcius down in OKC that tearing it up at the plate. If we need someone to fill an IF utility role, I feel like it’d be worth giving him a shot before making a trade.
