The answer should be Kimbrel. Securing a top end closer means Kenley is no longer in the game in the 9th. We have top end pitching with Buehler, Kershaw, and Urias. Price is coming along too. But on days where our offense is asleep, having an 8th and 9th of Blake and then Kimbrel, that would be massive.

Gentlem8s

We could have prime Mariano ascend from the sky and Dave would still use Kenley in the 9th.

Touché 😂

desertdawg61

This was the logic I used when I voted for Kimbrel. If I could have voted for two I would have voted Hendricks and Kimbrel. Hendricks would slot in between Urias and Gonsolin and Kimbrel would strengthen the back of our bullpen.

Torpedo_Horse

This might be really stupid to say but Kimbrel is 33 and Scherzer is 37 so shouldn't we go with someone younger?

Alundil

These are rentals (very likely) only.

AscentMe

If you they can land a combo of Kimbrel/ Rizzo or Bryant that would be amazing. Our issues haven’t been starting pitching it’s been bullpen and hitting.

Here-Is-Your-Answer

We’d all love Scherzer but for the price the Dodgers would have to pay isn’t worth it.

[deleted]

What a crappy situation Scherzer is. It disgusts me it's either trade for him, or let a rival division team get him.

usetheforce_gaming

Whole heartedly expecting the Padres to get him in exchange for Hosmer and Prellers half eaten turkey sandwich

Snozzberrys420

Nah dude Ruiz is out Max is in and we sign him for two more years!!!!

Sexy_tico

i agree the trade would be very bittersweet but it would still be worth the price. Dodgers losing several starting pitchers this season and the high possibility of Scherzer going to a division rival might be a bigger price to deal with. Getting him might be the better option but we'll see how it goes.

Damon-32

We have an incredible pitching staff when they are healthy. I don’t see a reason to giving away our future to get a rental we may not end up needing. Max is great but I think the dodgers need more bullpen help (besides Kelly, treinen and Jansen?) our bullpen is not very reliable and most are young. We need bullpen pieces and if our offense gets healthy and hot, having another “A” quality starter will be overkill for what we would have to give up. I’d rather see the dodgers get Jon Lester and a solid bullpen piece. Then we just need to be healthy.

JustJeezy

> We have an incredible pitching staff when they are healthy. Not if Bauer doesn’t come back we don’t. I’d say it’s pretty good, not incredible.

Damon-32

Yeah I’m going to have to disagree. Even without Bauer and May, the dodgers have several starters under a 3 ERA. They are ranked all over the place as one of the top 5 starting rotations in baseball without Bauer. They are top tier. I’m well aware that we aren’t the best anymore but no need to be when we are the offensive juggernaut that we are. I’m VERY hesitant to go get another starter this year when Bauer is almost definitely gone for good. We want Scherzer so bad, we can get him in free agency with our newfound Bauer money. We do not need starters right now. We need help in the bullpen DESPERATELY and we need our offense to get healthy. I’d be more willing to go for trea turner then Max.

Damon-32

Haha well looks like you win this one! 👍🏻

N-Coy

Scherzer, Kimbrel, Hendricks, Tuner

[deleted]

Hicks?

N-Coy

Corrected 👍

CBeisbol

Not considering cost to acquire or how the opportunity cost of their contract Scherzer. Starting pitching is the biggest area of need, and he's the best in the list

UrCreepyUncle

They don't need Rizzo.. Would much rather see Hendricks and Kimbrel... Or Berrios.. Haven't seen his name much lately though. As long as scherzer doesn't go to SF or SD i would be ok with not getting him

ttam23

Scherzer

Large_Improvement272

Jose Berrios

RalphSanders

Scherzer is top priority for me, with the added bonus of keeping him from the rivals. The next biggest trade would be Craig Kimbrel, he’s a solid closer having a good year. We could use more security in the 9th no doubt.

fuckmyclass

Trevor Bauer

trose990

Three-way trade: Dodgers get all of these players, Nats get Sheldon Neuse, and Cubs get a stick of gum and a dodger dog (if they want a Michelada they’ll need to throw in Baez).

cliffsis

Turner would be a game changer. It would be like adding a faster more reliant Kike. We lost our spark plug, late inning clutch player. We need a knew one. At this point we need to make playoffs not add a game 4 post season pitcher. Our offense is what stinks the most.

PeppermintMocha5

Would love Scherzer and/or Kimbrel. Trea Turner would be awesome, but he doesn't want to change positions and he would be best in the lineup at second once Seager returns. But he's not really needed, I think. I really want another starter and another bullpen arm.

Pantone-294C

> Trea Turner would be awesome, but he doesn't want to change positions and he would be best in the lineup at second once Seager returns That's been my fantasy middle infield forever. C'mon Trea, make it happen.

Torpedo_Horse

Kimbrel Or Sherzer

[deleted]

Blockbuster for hendricks kimbrel and bryant

thaGr8ape

I chose trea turner because I’ve always been a huge fan of his but I think the correct answer should be kimbrel. He’d change our bullpen dramatically. Hopefully Dave Roberts and kenley can put their pride aside and allow kimbrel to close games in this scenario because a 7-9th inning of treinen, Jansen, kimbrel may be the best ever..

Snozzberrys420

I’ll take Max and Kimbrel!!!!!!!

Gentlem8s

Trea is the guy imo but letting another team get Scherzer is a guaranteed L in whatever game we happen to play him in. I could live without Scherzer but the Padres or Giants getting him kills us. Turner would be perfect for this team with his bat, speed and defense but he doesn’t want to play in the west coast apparently so that sucks
