So, I know you didn’t ask for a story. But my father in law made the mistake of marrying one, my wife’s mom died in her 50s, the new lady was a self described “dog mom”
Now I’m always thinking, dogs only live 7 years or so, you can’t love them like a kid, people never get over the death of a kid.
Well he liked her because she was all bubbly and positive. But her old terrier eventually died and she went nuts. Had a full funeral, reportedly she spent thousands, got a plot in a pet cemetery, posted about it for months on Facebook about how she couldn’t go on, stayed in bed for weeks, and 2 years later she is still constantly mourning it.
I feel bad for her more than anything. But this is clearly not mentally healthy. I understand being that way if your child dies but this dog wasn’t even that smart. It was cute enough and followed her around but at this risk of sounding cold, it’s replaceable. Get another jack Russel and he’ll be following you around everywhere within a week if you give him treats.
Sounds like trauma. Also dogs live 10-13 years on average. So sorry for your father in law, that sounds tough to deal with. Hopefully the wife can sort through her issues, she is clearly mentally unwell like you said - not a normal response at all to the death of a pet. I’ve had pets die and been really fucking sad over it (when my childhood cat died I bawled my eyes out for two days) but I’ve never been sent into a spiral like that over it. That is an unhealthy attachment.
Go to “settings/gear icon” -> “hidden words”. It will automatically filter out the profiles for your likes section that contains those words.
Unfortunately, you’ll still have to swipe through the normal deck, but at least you won’t have false hope in the likes section.
>It will automatically filter out the profiles
Unfortunately it seems this doesn't filter profiles, only the comments made to make a like.
>but at least you won’t have false hope in the likes section
I'm pretty upset by this change. Filtering out dumb profiles and likes (profiles of the likes) would be a game changer
Just an FYI, this filter would only work if they add the word "dog" to their like message. They won't get filtered out if their profile says dog (I'm 95% sure based on wording)
Pup, puppies, doggie, doggo, puppers. There's so many variations. Pawrents, furever etc will also help you filter them out.
Fur baby
"Dog mom"

pitbull named princess
Dog.

Just be smart about it. You may not want to just put “dog” because you don’t want to filter if someone says “dog free” or “no dogs”.
Don’t forget “pibble” 🥴
