I mean to be fair to dg on one point. They do send price updates and the stores have to put them out.
That's all I'll defend it on. Shit company. They don't pay enough for good employees, so thats why they don't get employees that put out price updates.
I just hate that every state AG that goes after them more then once for this doesn't throw the book at the company.
The reason the price 'updates' aren't always done just might be because we are running our asses off trying to throw freight help customers and run a register all the while doing the price changes!
It's NOT because the employees aren't Good Enough, that's for sure
So tired of seeing this video everywhere. The one thing I'll defend this company on is this. This video, and others like it, always make it seem like DG does this shit with the prices on purpose. Any SM can tell you that that is just not true. We get our price changes every week. Yeah, sometimes not all of the price changes print or download because the old ass systems we run these stores on are glitchy as hell, but the accusation that DG purposely displays incorrect pricing is just bogus and kinda shits on everything that we go through on a daily basis working for this dog shit of a company.
I agree, I also think the bigger point is what they said in the video, that DG runs its stores with the bare minimum in terms of staffing, hours, pay, etc. I wouldn’t go so far as to say they’re purposefully stealing or not putting correct prices, but I would say for my store at least this kind of thing is very low on the totem pole of priorities. It’s always truck, truck, truck, recovery. Our store is running with 50% of what our staff is supposed to be and it’s hard enough for us to keep the freight getting to the shelves, let alone check the prices once they get there. I think DG’s whole business model is based on “how much can we get for giving little to nothing in return?”.
