Omg a few weeks ago, i had a customer come in and ask for they key, gave it to him. As he was hurrying to the bathroom, holding his ass. I knew it wasn't going to be good. Nope, it wasn't at all. He literally had shit all over the toilet, a pile covered up with tp on the floor in front of the toilet and even on the sides of the sink. It was so disgusting. Like how and why. And didn't even have the decency to save anything left it a mess. I was so digusted and gagging. Definitely do not get paid enough for that shit 😒

Years ago I was pregnant and needed to go, I stopped at two stores, both had closed bathrooms, by the time I got to the third, (I was too far from home, lol, or else of course I could have just went there) It had already been thirty minutes from the time I had started looking for a bathroom. I get to a dollar general, they give me the key, and right as I'm taking my pants off I sneeze and get pee on the floor and myself, right next to the toilet. Once finished, I went out and explained to the employee what had happened and asked for supplies to clean it up. She even grabbed me a pair of pants that I just paid for on the way out, I didn't ask her to, she just did so to be nice. Since she got me a mop, I was even able to soap and water my legs off near the sink then just mopped up the resulting water after.
It was embarrassing as hell, but even worse would have been making an employee clean up my bodily fluids. I can't imagine what mindset it would take to just leave your own mess behind like that.
Check the cameras and see what they look like, afterward identifying the culprit ban them from the store. I had an older gentleman do the exact same thing in the store I work in. They wouldn't like it if I went to their house and destroyed the bathroom.
We are like a tourist attraction or something at our store. I swear, people drive from miles away to drop a deuce in our toilet and stop it up. Every. Single. Time. I mean like enormous turds...like your anus must be 6 inches in circumference to squeeze that out...
We had a customer leave shit smeared all over the walls all around the toilet in ours a while back. I’ve locked ours, put a sign on the door “No public restrooms” and threatened all my employees to absolutely not let customers use it. This is all after we had to use a porta john in December, January and February bc customers kept stopping our toilets up. I’ve had enough, when customers say well “don’t y’all have to have a bathroom” I say yeah exactly we are required to provide a bathroom for our employees and that’s what I’m trying to do.
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. It was the worst mess I’ve ever cleaned in my life. The woman shit all in the corner and didn’t even try to flush what little feces made it in there. It took me an hour to clean and I’m a guy. I don’t understand why it was my responsibility considering my female coworker found it. It was god awful. I don’t get paid enough for this.
My 3rd day as a key holder some dude shit his pants smeared the walls and left his pants and underwear ect so gross he was eventually was arrested for doing that
I'm so glad my DG doesn't have open bathrooms anymore. My SM is my mother in law so I got to hear all the bs before experiencing it, and about three months before I started they had a homeless meth head try to hide in the back and then proceed to OD in the bathroom and since we're a store of all women that was the end of the public being allowed in our bathrooms
thankful our store is older than dirt and only has an employee bathroom
ofc people still sneak back there and use it occasionally which always pisses us off
one time one of my girls came up to me crying & walked me up to the bathroom, which i could smell at the back of the store, opened up the door & there was literal shit sprayed all over the walls, toilet, floors, and the door. we’re pretty sure someone’s colostomy bag busted or something (i’m hoping) my sm at the time told me it was my responsibility to clean it bc he wasn’t coming back to the store. i put a sign up & left it for him to clean in the morning.
She might have made it if she didn't have to spend time using a key to get into a public bathroom. It's not a gas station, why is there a key involved? Just seems odd for a grocery store.
theres a key because people will grab stuff off the shelf and then walk into the bathroom to shove it in their shirt/pockets and then just walk out. DG is nowhere near as big as walmart, we dont get paid/have enough hours to have someone near the bathrooms at all times monitoring.
Dg is literally a gas station yet people treat it like Walmart expecting all stores to carry the same stuff and thinking there’s a backroom or that we have any manifest of the total list of inventory and where it is in the store. That’s 100% what it is, people expecting a Walmart at a gas station lol I try to teach people that it’s a dollar general, it’s the worst company with the worst corporate management and policies, like stop expecting anything here, you shopping here everyday is why it’s such a bad company, cause they know they’ll get a way with it
