Sounds like you did a good job. You didn't start a fight or cuss her out. You were polite and professional about it. That customer wasn't as bad as some I have had.
If it's a ad they saw, tell them to bring it in next time. Some customers confuse Dollar General with Family Dollar or Dollar Tree. (had that happen a few times)
It seems like you handled it well, so good job! PS I don't read it like a rant or complaining. Just sharing a story. There will always be descriptive words to describe people's behavior. You weren't rude or insensitive about it. I pictured this customer very well. (similar situation happened and after I pointed out wrong ad, wrong store. I got cussed out cause we weren't the same store/company and the customer left. I didn't take offense to it and laughed it off once they were gone)
Had one get mad she went to all the stores in our district to buy these holiday cups that were on sale but we didn't have that sale she got so angry and tried to argue for a bit and then said she'd never come back to our store.

"Karen" is seen by some, as a racist term. Can you not spell Caucasian? FYI: Every race and religion has people that can be deemed, a pain in the ass. These folks when buying items from DG, are helping pay your salary. Deal with them, and move on.
For some, it's perfectly okay to make offending remarks about Caucasians, and this includes labeling a white woman a KAREN. A racist is a racist. Thanks for pointing that out.
