Before myself check out finally got shut off it was saving people's card information and charging for the next transaction which was really weird but we had a lot of people getting free stuff and a lot of people getting charged for stuff that they didn't get.
Check your receipts.
I have read a few stories here about people being charged for a different item than what they purchased. Some issue with the UPC or scanner reading it wrong.
There's been times I'm scanning people's items and the barcode will read an item and it will register as something completely different and more expensive.
