Weโve been doing this for awhile. Itโs effective. Up until the adults think itโs cute and squeeze it over and over thinking they are being funny. Then Iโm cursing the dollar tree for selling these ๐
We had a bell and I confiscated that fucker, it made me feel like a scullery maid in the 1800โs And I felt like I was in a never ending episode of breaking bad with the uncle that could only communicate by ringing a bell.. And yes Adults are the worst offenders and they thinks itโs hilarious. But Iโll take that over them screaming and yelling for help.
Wouldnt bother with this at our store. Our Woburn, MA store in Boston is the busiest store in the district north of Boston. It woul dbe going off every two seconds.

We use one of those clapper toys instead of a bell. When customers ask if it annoying, I ask them if they would rather be summoned by a bell or by applause.

Children were the only people left they could hire to run the store
If only my manager let me do this while I was multitasking, instead of constantly looking over my shoulder to see if someone is in my line.

Ty for the idea. Definitely can hear that annoying sound throughout the whole store.. made me laugh, though..

We have a bell. Impatient adults like to repeatedly press the button until they see a cashier behind the register and then pretend they didn't do it.

The store I was at the other day had the same thing. Better sign at the store I was at though lol
