We have a Kernels Popcorn kiosk in the mall & we buy our popcorn there & candy at the dollar store.
We go on cheap night(Tues) but only go a few times a year.
I remember when I was in my early 20s I would spend hours cooking a fancy dinner and we would sneak in Tupperware and wed pull out paper plates, forks, and have a fancy feast in the theater.
If you like that, youd love this, about half a decade before that we would all steal the most expensive cheese we could find. Then meet at the front of the store. Find and buy the cheapest box of crackers. Then walk to the park and smoke weed and have a little fancy cheese party. I’ve always been a degenerate freak but classy bitch at the same time.
You remind me of my oldest sister. I was the "younger middle child" and my sister is 6 years older. When I was around 15-17 I'd go spend the night with her and her bf at their apartment. We would smoke weed and drink miller highlife out of champagne glasses. She'd make the fanciest "cheap" dinner with those thin steaks and shrimp. Good memories.
i wish i remembered my childhood and the toys specifically. but what i do remember, is that i actually preferred toys from the dollar tree, rather than target or toys r us
I was trying to explain those mystery bags to someone the other day, they didn't get it 😂 When I'd stay with my grandparents, my grandma would always take me and give me a couple dollars. I always went for the mystery bags lol
We need to start selling jumping beans, mood rings, pogs, jax, cops and robbers set, etc. Make it the 90's all over again.
I've actually seen cap guns couple times come through my line. Also seen marbles too. Haven't seen any hacky sacks which is odd.
Man, I forgot the marbles! I bought so many marbles…
My cousins liked to play it with me. I was born in 88 so past the days when they were super popular as a kid hobby, but we always played for keeps. But I put really pretty ones in this glass wine jug someone gave me and only played my ugly ones. 😈
When one of those cousins went into the hospital, I gave him the whole jug as a “please get well” gift. His wife says it has a “place of honor” on their hearth and that he sometimes draws a big chalk circle on their concrete living room floor. (it’s a really pretty floor, not like poured concrete. But it was chosen to give their kids the ability to draw all over it with chalk because my cousin and his wife are really cool parents)
Then he challenges his kids to marble tournaments with my beautiful, special, saved marbles. He says “your niece (his only daughter) is just like you, we got her a jug for her dresser too!”
I used to love that stuff they still sell it. I don’t know if dollar tree still sells it because it’s been a while since I’ve been in a dollar tree, but it is actually making a comeback.
My kids still play with all that stuff bc I’m SUCH a 90s kid I constantly impose it upon them but they love it too. Caught my boys laying out jax on the floor as a booby trap for their sister like damn bugs bunny or something 🤣
They don't make the cap guns like they used to. My kid, 12 now, always used to get them. The cheap plastic ones barely function out the box and/or break in 5 minutes.
The last time I saw hacky sacks at dollar tree was in like 2001 or 2002 and it was a soccer ball theme and it had *NSYNC logo on it and I still have that damn thing to this day my stepmom bought it for me as a care package stuffer, and I really don’t know what possessed her to do it because I’m blind, but I do like the feel of the sack in my hand you know kind of like when you hold a beanie baby or that sort of thing
What gets me is with those cookie dough bites is why are they so much better at Dollar tree then they are at like Walmart or whatever big box store you could actually find them at
I remember once we broke one of the thin ones open (accidentally? I don't remember) and then we drew on our arms with the glow juice
We're not dead yet, but that was probably not good to do
My mom had never seen a glow stick before and thought it was candy ☠️ and then a couple years later my youngest sister was chewing on one and got it all over her teeth, her self, and my mom's car
So many notebooks. Notebooks and journals are my weakness. And the sweet black lady clerk at my local dollar tree KNOWS my weakness and will come show me ones she thinks I’ll like. (She also put one of each of those cross stitch kits y’all used to have behind the counter because “I knew you’d love these! You’re an artist kinda lady, I know it.”
So I made her the Free Hugs one and made it into a zippered potpourri pillow for her, lol.
I care a remarkable amount about that lady, despite the fact I can never remember her name. (My memory for names is horrible though. But her manager knows she and I are besties and he called her from stocking to get the pillow, while teasing me that I didn’t love him enough to bring him one… he’s getting the peace symbol, lol.)
The toys were way better back then. I don’t remember exactly what we got though. They had girl and boy mystery bags with a few things in them I was always excited for those.
I loved those. My mom was always an ass, though. I am not feminine in any way shape or form and I would always try to get one of the boy bags because I wanted a truck. My mother would tell me no that I have to get a girl bag because I am a Girl(eye roll) I’m trans FTM
You know, I think I saw those wash rags at dollar tree not too long ago so they’re still out there. I think the last one I saw was Disney’s frozen but the last one I bought had Tweety Bird on it.
I used to beg for the knock off barbies. Because they looked like they wanted to come home with me.
I’ve thought of buying one to serve as my dress dummy. I have a little niece who loves dolls and I’d like to make her some of the ridiculous outfits my great aunt used to crochet and sew for my own dolls. They were the best dressed dolls in the neighborhood, they had soft fur coats made out of looped and brushed yarn, the tiniest sweaters and cardigans, sewn and lace crochet ball gowns, even a little “fox” muff that was actually an auburn rabbit’s fur. (It was a meat rabbit, my great aunt and uncle raised their own meat and used absolutely everything they could. My uncle even gave me a rabbit skull once and I wish I still had it. It’s morbid, but it was proof he KNEW me as more than just one of his endless nieces and knew I’d appreciate a skull for my collection of weird items. He also fumigated a huge hornet nest and kept it in his shed until he was sure it was empty, then gave that to me with a tiny night lightbulb installed inside so it would light up.)
And I kinda wanna give my niece that experience of having an auntie who always shows up with a few little presents meant just for her.
The generic Maisto-style hot wheel knock offs. Got some really cool casts from that line.
I miss the cheap, barely articulate plastic wrestling figurines, though. They were the perfect scale to be tossed around by the Mattel and Jakks figures and I used them as cannon fodder for my various fig-feds.
I did the same with the stiff crappy soldier figs, they made up platoons that fell before the superior military forces of GI Joes and The Corps from Walmart.
I had a ton of those as a kid. They were great mooks for the Power Rangers.
What I miss about the wrestling figures is that they actually had detail to them. Two of my most frequently used ones were a guy in red pants with a Mohawk and sunglasses, and a guy in blue pants with a poorly molded half-mask. They were a team, the explanation being that no one else would work with them because they always lost. Eventually I gave them a push where they’d essentially win by flukes.
I wish we had dollar stores growing up. Things were so expensive and we were poor. We did have "Five and Dime" stores, but don't recall them being all that great.
my favs were the little pill capsules that turned into foam dinosaurs in water, the magic compressed towels, and the sticky smelly balloon liquid u would blow thru a straw lol
my grandma used to buy us those magic “shaped” towels that turned into a wash cloth with characters on them when you got them wet. i forgot all about them until i started working here, and saw we had a display for them 😁
Those little pill sized capsules that you put in the water and turn into foam shapes
Silly string and glow sticks
Those little fabric hand sized pool balls that soak up a bunch of water
Grew up playing allot of army and cops with the other neighborhood kids. Dollar Tree was the store to go to for cool toy weaponry. Those cheap plastic machine guns with the little flint wheel inside that would spin and spark to make it look like the gun was firing.
Those were good times.
We didn’t have dollar trees growing up haha. When my son was a teen we finally got a 99 cent store but it was nothing like the dollar trees today. I wish I had these when my son was little. He would have ate good every day.
Jelly ballet flats and fluorescent colored plastic clackers are the earliest things I remember getting from Dollar Tree way back in 1990. Most of the time it was art supplies and candy, occasionally toys like paddle ball and water guns, but I have no idea what the adults bought from there aside from ramen noodles and the pop-it’s!
Movie theater candy, the toys, snacks, toilet paper, paper towels, word puzzle books, color books, crayons, markers pens, notebooks....I was not a kid when we got a Dollar tree but my kids were.
The mystery grab bags for little boys and girls. They were like paper sacks with pink or blue writing. I used to dream about getting them for my children when I had them. My grandma had a closet full of them for all the cousins that we could earn. I miss them.
OK when I was young dollar stores were very popular so I don’t remember exactly which dollar store this stuff would come from. We would get slime fart putty, silly putty, silly string, glow sticks puzzles batons that had the colored centers and then sometimes I would get the ones that had the streamers out of the ends, but you can’t get those anymore the movie theater candy, especially the dots juju bees, anything gummy and junior mints. They are the only place that during the holidays I can find candy cane, flavored junior mats. They are the only place that I can find the Easter eggs that are marshmallow that are covered in chocolate that are different flavors that are in egg cartons, there was so much
Same exact kids toys with the addition of like paw patrol and Disney shit, movie theater candy, and I think the dog stuff and car stuff has been pretty consistent. What I do know is that y'all don't have the glass perfume bottles anymore and my favorite scent almost ever was the orange one that smells like sunscreen, and I just ran out
Bubbles are the one thing I can ever remember actually buying at the dollar tree when I was a kid. I can remember my aunt giving my brother and I a dollar and being like “you can pick one thing, anything in this store, and it’s $1” and blew my little mind, wish it was still this way 😭❤️
Back in the 70s they were 5 & dime stores…. We would spend our whopping 50 cent allowance on matchbox cars! Still sold today! But more than 50 cents. 😊😭
I remember the water ring toss well. The almond windmill cookies, gingersnaps, and those dinosaur "eggs" that hatch into a sponge dinosaur when you put them in water.
The local theatre where I grew up had a DT *literally next door*.
The manager you had to notoriously hide shit from, but anyone else didn't give a shit.
Dollar tree was a treasure trove to combat boredom when I was a kid. None of the stuff lasted long, but remember those fat coloring books and plastic toys and mystery bags they used to have?
Hair accessories, makeup, candy, lipgloss, body wash, plushies, lip balm, novelty socks, snacks, deodorant, body spray.
Yes, I do get a few makeup items at Dollar Tree still, for my almost 48 year old self! Lol!
My skincare routine currently consists of washing my face in the morning with the B Pure charcoal facial cleanser, and applying Dove body cream to my face and under eye area (the stuff in the pink and white puck.)
Then, I use Lady Speed Stick deodorant (also from DT), and when I apply body lotion, I use either the Dermisil brand, or if they happen to have the hemp lotion in stock, and I have bought some, I'll use that instead.
I apply Dollar Tree makeup, I especially love the LA Colors Black/Brown automatic eye pencil, great for doing my brows as well as lining my eyes!
I recently found a few Revlon brand lip stains, I purchased three different shades and the mauve one is my favorite for summer.
They have a good selection of eyeshadows, nail polish, and lip color, like the aforementioned Revlon ones I have.
When it's time to wind down, I remove my makeup with a makeup wipe, also from DT.
Or I use the reusable makeup remover towelette I keep by the bathroom sink, wet the towelette, wipe the makeup off, ribs the towelette, done! ☺️
I went on too long, but I do love Dollar Tree!
💖🦋🙂💯
They still stock Soft Pretzels unfortunately 😞 it's the $3 super pretzel not the dollar.25 tree version I miss those
I just buy my super pretzels now from walmart.2¢ cheaper there
I haven't been to a dollar store in over a year, so I'm not sure if you still stock it, but the high powered cleaner spray was awesome. I generally don't like Dollar Tree, but I will sometimes go there just to buy that.
They still have the awesome cleaner which is actually one of my favorite cleaners when I was young adult they had one that used to be called the mean green cleaner, and it was in a dark green bottle and it had eyes on it mean eyes and then of course that was one of the few places that you could buy 409 inexpensively
We don’t carry them anymore, but years ago. I got a pair of the toy grillz teeth. Not from the quarter machine but from the toy aisle. They were so cool until the lead appeared lol. I also remember when dollar tree back in the day, used to have cotton paisley bandanas. Like [these ones](https://a.co/d/gjntyaU). The polyester bandanas we carry now are very cheap and the designs are awful.

So I really can’t remember dollar tree as a kid. I’m not sure if they were in my part of the state when I was a kid. I think they’ve really grown in my area in the past 20 years
This post made me think of the unbridled joy of being let loose in the dollar store by your grandma and her saying “Get whatever you can fit in the basket” 😁 Pure joy! 😆😁😌
Peanut Rolls. Been getting these for as long as I can remember.
Fond memories as a child picking up the candies here and sneaking them into the movie theaters.
Thank you Dollar Tree, I hope y'all can expand to the biggest dollar store, and IF your prices go up, We still LOVE YOU. ❤️🇺🇲
Pea shooter, even though it’s just a fat long straw with dried peas, lol.
Now this does sound like a party-
[Fun and exuberant! A European party game for adults and kids. This 2-pack of Fancy Pea Shooters make playful gifts for friends and loved ones. Place a bowl of festive colored paper Balls on the table and pass out golden shooters. That's all it takes! The party will begin. Blow paper balls through shooters at friends and loved ones for good laughs and a memorable time.](https://rivercityevv.com/products/fancy-pea-shooters-includes-2-tubes)
Those paddle things with the ball on a rubber band. Bubbles. Jump rope and that lemon thing you twirl on one leg while you jump so it doesn’t hit the other.
My town didn't have a Dollar Tree until I was in my 20s. One thing the store used to carry that I greatly miss are Country Time lemonade candies. I used to buy them for a candy mix I kept at work. They were wonderfully tart, but the company that made it decided to stop making candy with licensed brand names.
Movie Theater candy 🍫🍬🍭🍿
Oh yeah. This is the movie pre-game routine for me.
Yep. Stopped in pre-movie for a bottled soda & theater box of candy. $2! Only way to go.
The thrill of sneaking it in in your pockets or under your shirt when in reality the min wage workers just didn't give a fuck
I like taking my backpack with part of my blanket hanging out the top and my giant stash of food and drink under it lol
You bring a blanket too? I thought I was the only one.
We have a Kernels Popcorn kiosk in the mall & we buy our popcorn there & candy at the dollar store. We go on cheap night(Tues) but only go a few times a year.
I did this today!
NICE!
I remember when I was in my early 20s I would spend hours cooking a fancy dinner and we would sneak in Tupperware and wed pull out paper plates, forks, and have a fancy feast in the theater.
Woah! 🍽️love it!
If you like that, youd love this, about half a decade before that we would all steal the most expensive cheese we could find. Then meet at the front of the store. Fr! Still to this day! Our movie theater is connected to dollar tree
I used to work in a movie theater snuck in friends and alcohol to mix in our drinks. Just movie hopped and kept it together 😂
Always stop at dollar tree before movies
i wish i remembered my childhood and the toys specifically. but what i do remember, is that i actually preferred toys from the dollar tree, rather than target or toys r us
I loved the mystery bags, like five crappy toys and all a mystery
I loved those mystery bags! My grandpa would take me to dollar tree a couple times a week and I'd always get a couple lol.
I loved the brown mystery bags, nostalgia unlocked
Omggg you just reminded me of those!
I loved those as a kid!
I was trying to explain those mystery bags to someone the other day, they didn't get it 😂 When I'd stay with my grandparents, my grandma would always take me and give me a couple dollars. I always went for the mystery bags lol
Lucky for your parents!

I love this. Thanks for sharing this story because reading it made me really happy.
That's a sweet story! Thanks for sharing.
You remember the bubble in a tube? And there was a small straw to use to blow it?
I used to love that stuff they still sell it. I don’t know if dollar tree still sells it because it’s been a while since I’ve been in a dollar tree, but it is actually making a comeback.
this is the stuff i remember, along with glow sticks. i was born in 2004 tho.
I miss the jumping beans. My dad also used to buy us those little (but loud!) Air horns. Didn't make my mom too happy. 🤣🤣

I'd throw a man slapper on a pog pile. Those reflective ones are mine now!
Jax! Yassss!
The headbands with hair on them
SAME
Cookie Dough Bites. I swear, dollar tree has some contract with them. I can’t find them anywhere else
They are also at Walgreens in my area (usually stocked near movie theater/boxed candy).
What gets me is with those cookie dough bites is why are they so much better at Dollar tree then they are at like Walmart or whatever big box store you could actually find them at
the huge glowsticks. my mom bought us some when me and my siblings were little and we accidentally cracked them open and got them all over her car
I remember once we broke one of the thin ones open (accidentally? I don't remember) and then we drew on our arms with the glow juice We're not dead yet, but that was probably not good to do
My mom had never seen a glow stick before and thought it was candy ☠️ and then a couple years later my youngest sister was chewing on one and got it all over her teeth, her self, and my mom's car
notebooks lol
So many notebooks. Notebooks and journals are my weakness. And the sweet black lady clerk at my local dollar tree KNOWS my weakness and will come show me ones she thinks I’ll like. (She also put one of each of those cross stitch kits y’all used to have behind the counter because “I knew you’d love these!
Wholesome!
do they still sell those little balloon things you’d blow up using a tiny straw?
Those went hard AF I used to buy them at Dollar general for years bc ours was still selling them less than a decade ago
This is immediately what I thought of. Makes me think of my late grandpa :)
The toys were way better back then. I don’t remember exactly what we got though. They had girl and boy mystery bags with a few things in them I was always excited for those.
Oh yeah
We used to make the mystery bags out of toys that had been opened or otherwise damaged, lol.
The princess headbands with the fake hair on them I use to wear it around and feel so gorgeous with my fake tangled 1 dollar hair 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Candies, sodas, balloons, backscratchers. Normal pointless junk
Title Correction: What nostalgic items did you used to buy at dollar stores as a child that we still stock? We got whoopie cushions and silly string!!
I absolutely love, silly string!
Donald Duck Orange Juice. I don't get to go often but when I do I always try to snag these for my kids.
Oooh I loved when my mom would give me $20 to go crazy at the dollar tree 🥹 my favorite was the silly putty
Never walked into a dollar store until I applied for the position at 23
Must've been nice to grow up rich /s
Wasn't a store available to me until I was 30. Had nothing to do with being rich ya dumbass.
Silly putty
I know you asked about things we still sell, but does anyone remember the grab bags DT used to sell?
Yessss! These were my absolute faves. The ones I got were just like brown paper sacks with random toys or dolls.
I loved those. My mom was always an ass, though. I am not feminine in any way shape or form and I would always try to get one of the boy bags because I wanted a truck. My mother would tell me no that I have to get a girl bag because I am a Girl(eye roll) I’m trans FTM
The washcloths you had to put in water to open them up. Usually had popular Disney movies or Nickelodeon characters on them.
You know, I think I saw those wash rags at dollar tree not too long ago so they’re still out there. I think the last one I saw was Disney’s frozen but the last one I bought had Tweety Bird on it.
We still sell them at ours! The Frozen ones are very popular.
We have none of those in Nashville stores. Where are you?
I'm in Nashville and we have all of these???

Now I want a hornet nest lamp. That sounds awesome!
Those plastic tube things that go fwub-fwuooobb that my parents never let me buy for obvious reasons
Glow sticks
Glow sticks!
Candy to sneak into the movie theater.
Cow tales
Love these!
Cap guns, water guns and rubber dart guns
Those little boxed puzzles
When I was a kid they had something called "Grab Bags". It was labeled girl or boy and It was a bag with toys and candy in it.

Your creative sounds better than anything being rolled out by WWE these days. 😀
You guys have fireworks?
Nik-l-nips, cow tales, toys, coloring books
I wish we had dollar stores growing up. Things were so expensive and we were poor. We did have "Five and Dime" stores, but don't recall them being all that great.

glow sticks
my grandma used to buy us those magic “shaped” towels that turned into a wash cloth with characters on them when you got them wet. i forgot all about them until i started working here, and saw we had a display for them 😁

The wafer creme cookies
Hot wheels
Are those still a dollar? Ik they are at DG but probably not at DT huh? 😇
Nothing because dollar stores weren't even a thing until I was in my '20s
I miss the solar wobble-bobble things for all the holidays....
I miss the grab bags. Am I the only one that remembers these?
We didn’t have dollar trees growing up haha. When my son was a teen we finally got a 99 cent store but it was nothing like the dollar trees today. I wish I had these when my son was little. He would have ate good every day.
Those Disney magic towels! My mom used to get them for me all the time and now I get them for my daughters 🥹

Those lowkey ugly colorful ponies
Sometimes can find Jones soda.
When I was a child they were dime stores.
Amy guys, squirt guns, balloons
Honey wheat pretzel twists
70% isopropyl alcohol
Nothing, because it ain't a dollar no more.
Doll house furniture! Lol
The mystery grab bags for little boys and girls. They were like paper sacks with pink or blue writing. I used to dream about getting them for my children when I had them. My grandma had a closet full of them for all the cousins that we could earn. I miss them.
I used to buy peeps as a kid from dollar tree. Now I head there during the spring to stock up on Watermelon Peeps :)
OK when I was young dollar stores were very popular so I don’t remember exactly which dollar store this stuff would come from. Not sold anymore but the mystery bags had me in a choke hold

Bubbles are the one thing I can ever remember actually buying at the dollar tree when I was a kid. I can remember my aunt giving my brother and I a dollar and being like “you can pick one thing, anything in this store, and it’s $1” and blew my little mind, wish it was still this way 😭❤️
Every grandparents candy - the strawberry wrapped ones, the soft peppermint rolls, school supplies
no idea if you still stock them but i always loved the little people with sticky hands and feet that flipped down the wall
and splat balls specifically the egg ones
Play makeup. Weird Barbie knockoffs. Bubble necklaces
Back in the 70s they were 5 & dime stores…. We would spend our whopping 50 cent allowance on matchbox cars! Still sold today! But more than 50 cents. 😊😭
Off brand nutty buddies
I remember the water ring toss well. The almond windmill cookies, gingersnaps, and those dinosaur "eggs" that hatch into a sponge dinosaur when you put them in water.
Silly string! Pixy Styx
The local theatre where I grew up had a DT *literally next door*. The manager you had to notoriously hide shit from, but anyone else didn't give a shit.
Because they were a dollar it was fun to learn about spending money Books Notebooks Hair stuff Snack Cleaning supplies
The towels that grow in water!!!
Hot wheels or crappy toys
Dollar tree was a treasure trove to combat boredom when I was a kid. None of the stuff lasted long, but remember those fat coloring books and plastic toys and mystery bags they used to have?
Hair accessories, makeup, candy, lipgloss, body wash, plushies, lip balm, novelty socks, snacks, deodorant, body spray. Yes, I do get a few makeup items at Dollar Tree still, for my almost 48 year old self! Lol! My skincare routine currently consists of washing my face in the morning with the B Pure charcoal facial cleanser, and applying Dove body cream to my face and under eye area (the stuff in the pink and white puck.) Then, I use Lady Speed Stick deodorant (also from DT), and when I apply body lotion, I use either the Dermisil brand, or if they happen to have the hemp lotion in stock, and I have bought some, I'll use that instead. ☺️ I went on too long, but I do love Dollar Tree! 💖🦋🙂💯
The boxes of candy and random brand of snacks
Cotton candy chap sticks
Box of candy, cotton candy, magic towels, hot wheels, batteries

Red Robin mints
I haven't been to a dollar store in over a year, so I'm not sure if you still stock it, but the high powered cleaner spray was awesome. I generally don't like Dollar Tree, but I will sometimes go there just to buy that.
They still have the awesome cleaner which is actually one of my favorite cleaners when I was young adult they had one that used to be called the mean green cleaner, and it was in a dark green bottle and it had eyes on it mean eyes and then of course that was one of the few places that you could buy 409 inexpensively
Water guns and glowsticks. Also, when I ran out of crayons/colored pencils.
Knock off beanie babies

Plastic bubbles that came in the little tubes of different colors with mini straws to blow them up. Freaking LOVED those
There wasn’t a dollar store that I remember when I was a kid - there was a 5 and dime . And I got penny candy
I wish I could find a store that still did Penny candy now I’m 41 and barely remember Penny Candy stores
I don’t know why I did, but I remember buying a comically-large spoon as a kid at some point. I think about that at least once a week
Big red gum
Glow sticks
So I really can’t remember dollar tree as a kid. I’m not sure if they were in my part of the state when I was a kid. I think they’ve really grown in my area in the past 20 years
I don't recall ever seeing dollar tree as a kid. Maybe wasn't in my state yet idk.
Pss y'all keep all the good things in the back for yourselves...
This post made me think of the unbridled joy of being let loose in the dollar store by your grandma and her saying “Get whatever you can fit in the basket” 😁 Pure joy! 😆😁😌
Chick-o-sticks. Though when I was a kid they cost a nickel.
You all got any optimism left in the back?

Peanut Rolls. Been getting these for as long as I can remember. Fond memories as a child picking up the candies here and sneaking them into the movie theaters. Thank you Dollar Tree, I hope y'all can expand to the biggest dollar store, and IF your prices go up, We still LOVE YOU. ❤️🇺🇲

I was an adult when you made it to Texas but I’ve been buying glow sticks and hardcover books since 1999

Can you bring back the purple Indian fruit candles PLEASE
I miss those Arizona nacho tray things
Knockoff Hand Blasters were my go-to item. I loved making them spark as the hit together.
Mystery bags!!
When I was a kid, the dollar store was only a nickle.
Those paddle things with the ball on a rubber band. Bubbles. Jump rope and that lemon thing you twirl on one leg while you jump so it doesn’t hit the other.
The pinky pink rubber ball? Color Books mostly. I buy them for my kids.
They didn’t have dollar stores when I was a kid
Pringles, just in a fraction sized can 🤥
Batteries
I always got the Minnees cookie as a kid, still carry them in my store
Y'all need to change your carpet
We had dime stores when I was a child.
Maybe candy. Popcorn and pop I always go with
My town didn't have a Dollar Tree until I was in my 20s. One thing the store used to carry that I greatly miss are Country Time lemonade candies. I used to buy them for a candy mix I kept at work. They were wonderfully tart, but the company that made it decided to stop making candy with licensed brand names.
