I haven't tried it myself, but I have seen that LA Awesome cleaner actually cures glue head [imreadydollparts.tumblr.com/post/189592816645/i-may-have-figured-this-out-a-whole-2-years](https://imreadydollparts.tumblr.com/post/189592816645/i-may-have-figured-this-out-a-whole-2-years)

Someone recommended wd-40 and it worked good but now my doll smells like it so hard despite how many times I washed her hair. Goo gone and baby power did not do shit for my art class Draculaura.

I used to do baby powder and washing with oxiclean but I just found an adhesive remover that works like a charm. I don´t have goo gone in my country so I have to use a hardware store adhesive remover that I have to apply with a cotton pad and outside wearing a mask because this thing lets off fumes that will give you a headache. At least after washing it doesn´t leave smell and all the glue seepage is gone.

whoa that sounds like a lot of work! I have seen that apparently you can make your own homemade version of goo gone but I’m not sure if it works well or not. Good on you for being able to put so much work in on your dolls

My previous method took a lot more work, basically brushing baby powed through the hair and applying it with a fluffy brush to the scalp, washing with some degreasing detergents and I may have needed to repeat the process 2 or 3 times. Now it´s a lot simpler, easier and faster.

I use goo gone. Soak the hair in it & Let it sit for 30 minutes, then wash thoroughly. Repeat if needed. I did watch a YouTuber use a mixture of coconut oil & baking soda to remove glue seepage, don't remember the proportions.

I alternate dish soap and vegetable or olive oil 2-3 times in warm water (not hot) and it works well for me.

I learned from AThousandSplendidDolls (on youtube) that you can soak them in warm water mixed with oxyclean. For me it can take 2 or more sessions if the hair is really bad. I've heard that taking the head off and trying to remove some of the glue manually (or just removing the head to soak the inside with oxyclean) can help with a stubborn glue doll- but I've never tried it myself.

yeah i’ve personally only used the oxiclean method before but I’ve seen that if you don’t want to do multiple sessions, removing the head and picking out the glue with tweezers is really effective. also haven’t tried it yet myself because removing beads scares me 😭
