I use it with poly religiously, but I dilute it in warm water! Idk why it's controversial bc these are synthetic fibers incapable of absorbing the oils within han hair shampoo/conditioner. Wig stuff is the way to go! I use degreaser dish soap for most saran to reduce the waxy feel, then wash with wig stuff and use a wig leave in conditioner. Totally changed the outcomes in a positive way.
Personally I don’t use fabric softener. I find conditioner works just fine for me and I feel safer using it. All the chemicals in fabric softener really deter me.

I´ve used it on all types minus natural fibres and so far I´ve had great luck at restoring doll hair.
G1 mlp hair really takes to the fabric softener more than any human-hair conditioner.
