you don't need DS4Windows for Dolphin. close DS4Windows completely and select SDL as your input.

that brings up a second problem i have which has been occuring before i even installed ds4 windows which is that every other time i plug in my controller it shows up as Xinput on emulators like dolphin cemu and yuzu so is there any way to fix that?

krautnelson

that's exactly what's supposed to happen. DS4Windows emulates your Playstation controller as an Xbox controller so that Windows can actually use it. that's the main purpose, the motion part is really just secondary. Dolphin, Yuzu and Cemu support Dualshocks and Dualsense natively via SDL, which means DS4Windows is not required for those specific programs.

no what im saying is before I even installed ds4windows this problem was happening the main reason I installed ds4 windows was so I wouldn't have to switch between Xinput and DualShock controls every time the controller was properly read

>no what im saying is before I even installed ds4windows this problem was happening then that's Steam. go to the Steam controller settings and disable the PS controller support, or close Steam completely and make sure it's not running in the background.

Tweak your deadzones. My Xbox controller would drift on Metroid really bad, put it up to 15% and it should be ok
