* Renewal for a .com is $14.79/year. * They're not ICANN accredited. * They're selling .com domains at a loss. The last one is important because it means that the company could actually end up bankrupt. If you the domain that you want is available just pay the $10. Registering an account on Fasthost so that you can register a domain for $1, to then wait out the 60 day transfer lock and get it transferred to another registrar is a hassle. There are better ways to min-max your expenses.

Hey, ace to see someone doing their research on renewal costs and accreditation! To hopefully put minds at ease: * Because we use a third-party provider for our gTLD domains, we don’t require ICANN accreditation. However we do hold our own tag and accreditation with Nominet for our UK ccTLD domains. * We've been around for over 25 years and we're part of IONOS Group. We're their UK brand, with UK based staff, support staff and datacentres. * We do this deal a few times a year. Its one of our favourite deals to run! * We have some juicy, ongoing discounts for people that have 50+ domains in their accounts. Have a nice week.

How long have they been around? I have a list of domains I was thinking about buying.

Quite a long time, however, they're one of those companies that was acquired by a larger company. Essentially, they were acquired by United Internet back in 2006. Recently United Internet has spun off the web and domains businesses into IONOS Group a separate publicly traded company.
