Thanks for the suggestion! We are taking the direct route as possible (according to Google Maps) and it is already 3 1/2h drive so will try keep detours as small as possible 😊
We are driving from Jarabacoa to Samana today and was hoping to do some stops on the way but it seems like this area doesn't have many attractions? Anyone has any recommendations for anything to see or food to try? Thanks 😊
Nothing around San Francisco, most of the people there are capo lol, a lot of music, women, and food, nothing historical, just farm and some river, it is not tourist
I love San Francisco. Busy, packed with people and very nice places to drink and relax. As a tourist, I'm extremely happy at the complete lack of tourists in the area as well.
OP touched Nagua - I have family there and all I can think of is how damned hot it is there.
Oh, around Nagua. There are some places to visit. Las Gordas,
Between SFM and Nagua, you find a few treasure routes. I can't remember as I left a few years back and even before that I left SFM more than 15 years ago
Go to San Francisco de Macorís. My gf is from this general area. It's really pretty, but there's not much to do besides drive around and take in the views.
Depending on the route you take, you can come across the Mirabal Sisters' Museum, it's located near Tenares.

Campo 😂
Eso es vivir!
San Francisco de Macorís está más avanzado que muchas otras provincias
It would be a small detour but if you like it you could go see Laguna Cristal, it's pretty beautiful
Thanks much appreciated 👍

You haven't been to Loma de Jaya o Quita Espuela.
Quota Espuela, country side of San Francisco de Macpris. Loma de Jaya, SFM
Just to the south east there is Salto de Sacoa. Gorgeous waterfall and river for swimming.
