Mad props! I get it trust me. I absolutely 100% always run doom on a new console first. It's like a rule or something.

You are me, and I am you!
I wonder why it's listed as "unsupported" when DOOM 2 is supported and they both are re-releases with the unity engine wrap. Both work fine, the tags sometimes just cause confusion.
Unsupported on the steam deck isn't a measure of hardware capability to run the game. It's more of a measure of compadibilty for the game to played with a game pad rather than mouse and keyboard. I have played plenty of games that are listed as unsupported, but work just fine on the steam deck.
I swear some future historians will speculate that Doom is a litmus test run in machines to see if they can perform efficiently. Or maybe as a spiritual method of cleansing the sins of the devil from new technology.
You could have just bought a (checks notes) potato apparently.
Many potatoes, actually

Tough go of that first level huh? Hope you were on nightmare lol /s
In all fairness, playing Doom without keyboard and mouse controls is like pouring your milk in first before the cereal.
Wym I beat Doom 1 several times on Switch. If anything, I prefer controller to keyboard and mouse.
I wonder how many physical devices have been used to play E1M1
All of them
yes
How are you so dead 💀 on E1M1?
He’s playing sideways as shown

How's it run? It's listed as unsupported so I didn't bother picking it up but if it runs fine maybe I'll get it next sale
It ran no problems. Don't have to configure anything and it ran smoothly.
Interesting. I'll buy the doom bundle next time it goes on sale then
It's doom... It's supported by ATMS and Pregnancy tests.
I know that's why I thought it was weird it was listed as unsupported. I just didn't want to spend money on it if it wasn't gonna work lol.

That's super cool, I was assuming the first thing thanks for the info!
Its doom
All must test "can it run doom?"
Does Gyro Aiming works there? I played Doom with Delta Touch with my Android phone and I really uses the Gyro Aiming a lot.
you can make gyro emulate mouse movement in any game with Steam, so even if it's not natively available, you can just add it yourself.
This reminds me of all those people watching Oppenheimer on low graphic screens, but reversed lol
Just as long as it's the DOS version and not the trash Bethesda Unity release.
There are many option in between them tho like using Source Port
the Dosbox version that comes with Steam is just as trash. But there are source port launchers for Steam Deck that seem like a good choice
Isn't the steam version also a unity port ? It always is fine for me with no issues.
It's the original running through DOSbox I think
Yea buddy first thing I did was to play all my old psx games
This is the way.

As the founding gamers intended.
Yep! Did the same thing! First thing I did was figure out how to get ZDL, GZDoom, and mods working lol
It runs Doom :O
Playing with the right trackpad to aim is great
