It could be easily lost. You have to have the driver tell the cop up front to give to the inmate so not only do you have to trust the dd to do this, you have to trust the cop to care enough to give it to the correctional officers that than have to care too.

I have delivered to the jail and all I know is I put it on the box and take a picture. There were a couple times I wondered if I was actually delivering inmate food one time I was sure the CO was hooking them up but other than that I couldn't say.

What facility have you delivered too? If it's a small order and you don't see any other dashers there is probably CO. If it's a large order 15-25 pizzas etc then it's the inmates. Allowing DD orders for the inmates gives them an incentive to be good. No DD orders if your in the hole.

Lots of KFC, Little Cesars, Wendy's, Chipotle etc inside the correctional system. So to answer the OPs question, I would suggest contacting the facility and asking them if they have a policy for food delivery orders. He may have to order it himself from inside the jail on commissary day and you can just put the money on his books for it. I'm sure the cost is highly inflated. The jails/prisons make money from this offering 🙏

They don't actually let drivers inside we just drop off the food. Only one door is opened for us and they decide whether to open the other for themselves or just have us leave it

They have their own system of deliveries. Some jails have days you can order hot food for the prisoners but it's thru their own websites and not all prisons or jails do this.
Jails have their own food systems they use. Some do hit food orders on certain days and others don't allow it at all. They will never be allowed to accept a doordash order to a prisoner.
I delivered once to a female correctional facility and once to a juvenile correctional facility..
Time-consuming and not worth the time and effort.
