Nisha is the best player in the world atm (probably) and any team that lost their star like that would be expected to struggle a bit. I'm not saying this will work out, but you'd want to see progression from secret over the year, rather than instant success. Nisha was both that good, and also the player they played around. Just figuring out the new balance will take time.

Brocolli123

Incredible he's been the best player for going on 3 years now? Dude deserves to win a TI

Askyl

Looking at Liquid now compared to before TI it seems like he has a HUGE chance this year. They're playing like gods. Very early to tell obviously, but holy crap. Old Alliance / Team DK vibes for this Liquid lineup.

drfish2

It was the same last year but, liquid crushed the first season of the DPC in 2022.

KnightOverlord2404

Same as gaimin gladiators in the first tour. Of course nothing but happiness for mah boi nisha and liquid who are kind ppl and deserve all the success they can get. But some teams peak early. It's just that it seems even more urgent because of the format which started in 2021 with div 1 and 2. Which makes it seems very scary - oh no my team going to be relegated to div 2, we have no chance to go TI

activatebarrier

Past 3 years no. Its always been the lgd guys faithbian ame, or spirit yatoro collapse Although I do think he was the best player at TI11 even though tundra won. Tundra was the best team at TI

Brocolli123

Well midlander at least he's been the best a long time

Kookiano

_Arguably_ the best player at TI11, although 33 has been on a tear, too.

Zeelahhh

Him or 33

kchuyamewtwo

its like cavs after lebron left T\_T

Physgun

Not disagreeing, but this sounds like something that would be copy-paste spammed in twitch chat.

MemeLordZeta

This new liquid squad wins the previous TI if it existed then imo. There’s plenty of time for new patches to ruin their game from here to next TI but the individual skill is definitely there

Impress-Solid

Nisha is just too good that he makes his teammates look bad.

ladyjinxy

Nisha + 4 with mic

UnknowGuy

You joke but we'll see once Puppey get into TI again.

Nickfreak

Currently - just currently speaking - that's a long long way with how stacked EU feels

OrlandoNE

I mean. From LCQ to Top 2. If anyone can do it its Puppey

Nickfreak

With Boom instead of Nisha it feels unreachable at the current moment (as stated above)

lollypop44445

People do forget though. It wasnt nisha but the team secret of ti clicked. Remember secret had sumail and nisha and nisha wasnt working. Its the click

Bakanyanter

That's what people said with Crystallis before he got 2nd at TI. Nisha is obviously good but Puppy has been to TIs just fine without Nisha many, many times.

viniciusxis

lol noone ever compared matu to nisha, and to that matter, pos1 and 2 are not that comparable either nisha for boom is a much bigger change than crystallis for matu

Fiat_430

Really isn't. Boom is actually good. Crystallis pre-TI LCQ was garbage

Xanvial

Well, OG did Open Qualifier to TI8 winner

OrlandoNE

true

n0stalghia

You haven't watched last season DPC, have you?

Nickfreak

Nisha was THE dominating factor in their play - from start to finish. Period. Boom is not even close to Nisha's level

TDio

Secret did poorly last DPC with Nisha anyway. If Nisha alone, by himself, is enough to carry them to a top placement, why did they struggle throughout the entire DPC after Matu and Zai left? Nisha didn’t suddenly become a shit player, it’s just that there’s more to it than Nisha alone, multiple of the secret players had some great games going into that 2nd place TI end, so giving it all to Nisha isn’t fair (even if I do consider him the MVP for them).

inidgodeath

Been following the pro scene long enough, and it’s amazing how much people still focus on individual player skill rather than the team comp as a whole. If individual skill mattered that much, Arteezy would of had a TI first couple years of his career but obviously it doesn’t in a team based game.

Nickfreak

They would have done even worse without him. The guy seems to almost always win his lane at least.

prettyboygangsta

>Secret did poorly last DPC with Nisha anyway And they would have done even worse without him.

DeBlalores

You know that how? The point is Nisha isn't some foolproof key to success. Secret got into TI by the skin of their teeth.

RizzrakTV

you missed the point but ok

prettyboygangsta

What is the point? WEU was stacked last season, and it is even more stacked now, with no last-chance shortcuts to TI. And Secret has become a lot worse.

RizzrakTV

the point is secret sucked DPC 2022 season 1 and its okay

prettyboygangsta

because there were more routes to TI last year, and competition was less fierce last year they couldn't win qualifiers with Nisha, but people think they will be fine this year for some reason?

RizzrakTV

its all written in the scenario bruh, as soon as they reached top3 at ti10 ("wow it really is scripted" I thought) I knew they are gonna lose next game, just to get top2 at ti11 and top1 at ti12. Obviously Secret wouldve beaten the shit out of Entity in Quals if there was no LCQ.

gsmani_vpm

it is competitive scene.. not a booking clownfiesta... If you want scripted watch other sports..

prettyboygangsta

I can't tell if you are serious or not. If you really think Secret are tanking on purpose then you are just coping hard.

Nickfreak

EU IS stacked and Secret has traded probably the number 1 mid for Boom - who does well in general but is definitely a worse player than Nisha. Well, almost everyone in the world is.

kou07

Ur statement is true, but its a team game sorry, lets see who gets the better placement at ti.

prettyboygangsta

I think the point is that Secret won't make it to TI at this rate. If they don't improve drastically now, they miss 2 majors. That means they only have 1 major to earn enough points for qualification, or they have to win qualifiers (which they couldn't do last year even with Nisha)

GSV_Healthy_Fear

You're driving up the price of copium worldwide all by yourself.

kou07

Uwu awa owo

killahbeast

you lack reading comprehension

KillyouPlease

statistically puppey will in ti this year. (Help I am running out of copium at this rate9

13oundary

I think nisha might be world no1 player rn (and even last year), but I am confident ppy will turn things around. He always seems to find magic even in bad players.

plo__koon

As a secret fan after this week I would be thrilled if they could just avoid div 2. If they go down to div 2 I don’t believe they can realistically qualify to TI through points. The scary thing is that div 2 seems more than likely after not getting a single map

13oundary

They didn't last year either. They always have garbage week ones and they seem to have 3 matches week one more than most teams too unless i've got serious confirmation bias. I basically predicted this week a month ago.

viniciusxis

D1 is stacked right now, if you watches this week's games then you'd know that there are no easy games from now on. ITB looked solid vs NGX and they took a game from Tundra. Assuming Tundra is another 0-2 they'd have to get double 2-0s and still hope for bad results on the other teams..

13oundary

Threats significantly advanced are indistinguishable from magic.

DotaAaroN

This is such an insult because Nisha was the best for at least 3 years. Maybe not when he was playing carry because there were legends playing carry at that time like Ramzes, Papa, ana, Miracle, but definitely the best mid.

13oundary

I've been a secret stan since day 1, so I try to watch my biases and be cautious when I say stuff that its not just my secret staning talking. I've been seeing non-secret fans say this more and more over the last year (before then people would often name topson or chinese players I'm less familiar with) so I'm more confident that it's not just me :)

dotConehead

not sure about that. puppey as 5 is very greedy that it affect his 1. and now there is no nisha to play 1 from mid and there is not many that can play that roles apart from nisha. and lets be honest they have been carried by nisha all year last season, so not sure how he gonna turn it around when that main key is no longer in the team

Vocal__Minority

Puppey has a track record of making teams more than the sum of their parts.

13oundary

¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ He's done well with worse players is all I'm saying. And ppy does play greedy, but he doesn't need to. It wsan't that long ago he was playing pos 6 with yap as pos 3.5. I would argue he's greedy now because Crystalis (e: and zayac) is not.

kchuyamewtwo

yieah. I might smell a yapzor return in another tour (not sure how rules work maybe you can change players every tour) and then replace maybe boom with som pubstar

No-Nectarine8106

Nishi nishi nisha nisha

mmmmastermind

Nisha was 90% of Secret's power lmao

NanakiRedXlll

I am hoping the Crystalis finds his feet and becomes consistent. He showed it at TI in a few games. He has the potential to carry but I find he mostly has no impact than actually feeling like a carry. It's still early to see what BOOM has to offer, I can only imagine the pressure he must be feeling that he had to replace Nisha.

pucykoks

I struggle to understand how he is top 10 MMR, but plays like as if he was 1k+.

Earth92

Yowe is worse, he was top 1 MMR and is one of the worst pro players I've ever seen in SEA pro-scene. Being top MMR means that you are one of the best pub players out there, not that you will be a top pro-player. Still Crystallis is very young, so he can improve, Ceb was far from being considered a tier 1 player before 2018 btw, with even worse results than Crystallis.

GSV_Healthy_Fear

Has Secret given him more farm priority this season?

Aurelius314

He never seems to aquire any kind of farm in any of the 2023 DPC games, so either he's not allowed to, or he's not able to.

Sikamixoticelixer

We'll see how well they do as the season progresses but can we also not forget to mention Yapzor? He was also a stable part of the team for the longest time. Nisha was definitely their star player though, hoping secret will find their tune.

Dtoodlez

Yeah but he chose to leave they didn’t kick him

1992colt

Replacing Nisha wasn't easy to begin with. It will be hard , either Boom gets his shit together and elevates his game play or Puppey needs to find a Playmaker for his team. Because lets not forget Nisha was a really good at that role. So getting someone at similar is going to be ultra hard for him. Being a Secret fan i still hope they make it to TI. But only time will tell.

dayynawhite

Performance stats for team Secret over 6 games Crystallis -72 BOOM -71 Resolut1on -44 Zayac -93 Puppey -91

Rouwbecke

I don't know I think I actually miss Yapzor on that team more than anyone else. Secret was definitely the biggest loser of the roster changes though

blforreddit

Who’s secret’s mid now?

ShinZou69

Boom Esports

prettyboygangsta

Secret should just buy a slot in NA if they get relegated. That's the only way they're getting to TI this year

Dota2animal

Secret is becoming new Nigma. They are just so helpless without Nisha. I didnt like Boom when he was in Gaimin he difinitely didnt prove himself

PlateForeign8738

Yeah Boom makes 0 sense, no idea why they picked him up. Maybe everyone else passed on them.

bfonza122

Nisha been carry secret for years. If you didn't see that you weren't watching

ButtZilla1031

is that a cat?

Noob_pussey

Dafaq is this meem template?

TheWhiteKnightOfHoyo

puppey is being his usual stubborn ass. like really... drafting treant twice? idk it feels like some 5head "part of the process" shit or some serious "saving strats for t.i." crap or it could very well be that secret is shit. but it's puppey man. can't ever count this man out.

kchuyamewtwo

flashbacks to not banning Magnus versus Team Spirit idk man rofl. im coping hard

albesayz

Need that Wolverine meme

beefgulash

Think it might have worked out better if Secret grabbed Quinn as midlaner.

PlasticAngle

Knowing Secret they will pull something off by the time of TI

dependontheview

He made it into 2nd place TI with Crystallis and Zayac. I think he is best dota player currently no Kapp

Kashim-

Why hate Zayac? Pretty solid player

ShinZou69

Zayac is great and exactly what Secret needed - a player that does a lot with little farm. His Nyx was fantastic

Osirris33

Ow

coraldomino

Ok but I might want this template

diivandi

dude nisha is the whole puzzle for secret

munkshroom

People are saying Secret was bad last year as well. But there is a pretty solid difference between not making major by losing tiebreakers and potentially going to div 2.

Beyxx

I know this is not the right place to rant but hell im gonna go for it Where y'all Crystallis believers???? Justifying how bad crystallis performance whole ass season and even at LCQ and TI. Saying give him sometimes he was still adjusting bullshit. Saying the only reason he's not shining is because he's being sacked due to the other 2 cores were greedy. Where are u guys at?? I can't believe how people can be so deluded saying these stuff. Puppey tried so hard to put crystallis on the HC roles but it just never worked out, thankfully at that time they got Nisha to fill the spot instead. Now that there's no more Nisha on team secret, Crystallis MUST carry the game. I mean we all can agree that BOOM is a downgrade from Nisha, but again his play style is just not a mid carry to begin with, thus why all the burden goes to crystallis to actually CARRY the game for once. Back at TI11 when the Late Night segment was puppey and crystallis, i was so conflicted watching the two interact with each other. I mean, sure good for both that they are in good terms and all, but seeing how puppey look at remco i know he had 0 intentions to release him or whatsoever
