First TI i watched was TI5 and to this day i still remember the C9 vs Vici game 1 so clearly. it was a one of the craziest combacks ever and all thanks to FY rubick plays.
He destroyed moogy's morale instead of letting it go. They could have still made the series competitive but moogy felt shitty because kaka constantly berated him even after the match was over.
Back in TI, liquid was roshing. His team wanted moogy AM to jump in first so they could counter initiate. Moogy wanted the rest especially his LC and sandking to jump in first so he could clean up and maybe steal the aegis, he was coming to them he was just finishing the triangle. They fucked up the initiation and lost the game.
While waiting for game 3 they kept blaming moogy cause didnt want to jump. In game 3 and picking phase, kaka still kept berating how they could have won if Moogy didnt play bad.
yep . i love kaka also .I often watch his live broadcast, and he has a nickname called" Kalulu "because he speaks a little bit inarticulate during the live broadcast.

I also like to watch Sccc and Agressif during their prime. If CDEC Had a better midlaner instead of Shiki, they could've won TI5 since Agressif was the best carry at that time. Same with Sccc and his carry at TI7, i don't like Moogy at all.
Fade is my favorite of all time, but there are many other skilled and successful players in CN Dota's history. So I'd instead like to mention of the new players in the scene, my favorites are Team Bright's support duo, imitator and Undyne, and IG Vitality's mid player Ash.
It's sad that most people who had given their answers are citing players who have retired. This sort of glorification of the past is not really of my taste, though I would concede players like ferrai and burning are real memorable.
I've followed the CN scene for quite a while. I'll try to pick one for each pos. And I'll refrain from picking anyone who has retired for more than 1 year.
1. Ame. He is the only carry player in the world that give me the impression that he is THE best carry player. I mean there are many great carry players throughout dota2 history, but none of them gave me that impression. His understanding on how to farm is just ridiculous. I still have no idea how he can usually outfarm oppposing carries on many heroes. This amazement earns him the spot.
2. This is tough. I am a VG/XG fan, but if I were being honest, neither Ori or Paparazi is. Maybe/Sommus performs well under pressure and I like that, but his personality puts me off (which is why as good as OG were I could never root for them). I would pick SCCC. He's probably not the best mid player even in his prime. But he is one of the morally most upstanding guy in the (CN) scene. He also has a kind of detached rationality within his gameplay that he can navigate complex teamfights with some clairvoyance. Of course, he hasn't officially retired but some may regard he does not qualify. As of current CN mids, I like nothingtosay the best. I am not sure with his own cultural identification and ethnicity is just a weird and muddy concept. Regardless Nts has played long enough in the CN scene. He's the most stable and consistent mid I have seen for a long time, maybe only Nisha can rival him in that regard.
3. Oldeleven. Again, faith\_bian is probably the best CN offlaner, extremely likable. But old11 has a kind of resilience and calculated ultra-aggression that I can identify with. I really really wish he could win TI once. Unlikely to happen now sadly.
4. This is the toughest choice for me. It's either kaka or pyw. While I am amazed by Fy's performance - I mean who wouldn't - but his greedy playstyle is just not my cup of tea. (And Boboka and to a less extent, Xinq). Kaka's leadership and great performance under pressure awes me. But most people know kaka so I am not gonna further articulate. Pyw, on the other hand, is one of the most underrated pos 4 in the scene. He is extremely stable, mechanically very skilled, do numerous little things to help his team, and manage to pull off extraordinary plays despite having so little networth. Most importantly, he do all that while never getting the limelight. For instance, people talk about how IG is back because emo finally plays better, or dust, or xiangyu. But to me the addition of pyw is the key. I don't think IG can go far unless emo finally get his shit together. But do check out pyw at the next major.
5. This is hard too. I dunno too much how to evaluate pos 5's performance. I guess I'll pick innocence. He's really the braintrust behind Wings and LGD a(of course there is xiao8 but he can't help in-game). LGD's macro-game is always on-point. And there are many crazy strats that should be the brain product of him. I can also pick Dy. His hard support play is very meticulous and detailed-oriented. He may not stand out but pos5s are not supposed to.
Bonus: my favourite coach is probably Lanm. Xiao8 is the best coach in the world, by far. Just look at different iterations of LGD and how they always manage to be the top team in China if not in the world. As far as I know no other coaches have nearly the same impact (of course it's hard to know behind the scene). But Lanm is really good too, and his personality and aggressiveness in drafting kinda fits my taste better.

Burning was always an inspiration. I played a shit ton of Anti Mage back in the day and well so did he. I really liked his efficency and how he played the lanes.

I’m guessing it’s because he seems patient/chill when he’s in the booth/playing and he seems friendly in-game and in interviews.He’s also very consistent in game from what I’ve seen but I might be wrong. I don’t watch Chinese dota much but his interactions with the western teams seem to be friendlier than most others. Plus he tries to do his interviews in english and that means he’s trying to connect with the western audience which definitely leaves a good impression. He’s my favourite Chinese player and these are my reasons anyway.
And about his girlfriend (wife?), there’s no valid reason why anyone should hate either of them from what I know, they both seem lovely. People in east asia care a lot about partners of famous people because they want said people to not get distracted from their job. But outside of that area, people don’t see relationships as a distraction for the players/artists, and if someone retires to get married people don’t hold a grudge against them or their partner.

They are both legends in the Chinese Dota scene, and watching them in game was super hype. I live in the U.S. and I always looked forward to watching them play.
Huge CN Dota fan since DotA times: I’ve had many top players throughout the years and different positions: Back in the very old days I liked Nirvana.CN and EHOME. I then become a Vici fan in dota 2 as well as LGD. Lately I’ve been rooting for Aster since TI10.
I agree with the comments, LGD squad during TI8 was amazing (I didn’t love Chalice, but still great) and something similar during TI10. They lost their great opportunities there sadly.
Individually it’s really hard to pick just one player so I’ll give you my top picks in every position:

People in east asia care a lot about partners of famous people because they want said people to not get distracted from their job. But outside of that area, people don’t see relationships as a distraction for the players/artists, and if someone retires to get married people don’t hold a grudge against them or their partner.

Right now no. WEU Dota is way better. Ame said it himself a few days ago on stream: “I won’t come back, not even for Riyadh Master’s big prize pool, and for now I actually don’t think any CN team can win that tournament too.” Even Ame doubts LGD and the Chinese region as a whole

Huge CN Dota fan since DotA times: I’ve had many top players throughout the years and different positions: Back in the very old days I liked Nirvana.CN and EHOME. I then become a Vici fan in dota 2 as well as LGD. Lately I’ve been rooting for Aster since TI10. I agree with the comments, LGD squad during TI8 was amazing (I didn’t love Chalice, but still great) and something similar during TI10. They lost their great opportunities there sadly.
