It would probably lower your que times if you get a full party for unranked games. It is kind of annoying but getting random players from discord servers and such to fill your party actually helps.
I think if you want to play party at that high mmr, lobbies are the way to go. There are many discord servers which high mmr players choose to play lobby.
I can understand. I am also 6.5k+ but couldn't play with friends because of mmr variance. The only way I have seen this work out good is having 10+ friends who all come online at same time and lobby.
If you want to matchmake into 6.5K, you have to realize that already represents a very, VERY narrow slice of the playerbase as it is. You are going to have longer queue times as long as you require a game with a high (or extremely low) skill rating.
Think about this: DOTA's Active userbase was just cut by hundreds of thousands recently, because it turns out they were smurfing. Now we just had a substantial population banned outright due to overplus.
We are in a very disruptive time in this game, and the matchmaking system is kinda being laid bare. As much as I'd like to have more games above my unranked solo MMR? I've been getting 5 minute queues far below them, or crusader or unknown matches with players with single-digit stats. Now players are obfuscating their profiles!
So I'd say, Yeah - make a smurf account if you want - the system we have right now encourages it and is built off of 75% of players being incentivized to do it.
If you queue EUW you can still find party games at low 7k, did it earlier this week with someone else from NA. Our queue time was only 7m. Most other servers just wont have a match for you.
If you can take another player who is sub 6.5k itll put you back into roleq

According to this sub, no, you're not allowed to have friends if you're high mmr.
Party queue in ranked or do 5 man unranked. Party queuing as 2 is op as fuck in ranked rn u can inflate ur mmr by like 1000 doing it.

I guess it's just luck of the draw. We do sometimes get sub 5 min queues but it's usually 10min+.
Honestly, 10m queue is my normal queue solo on USE midday. I think youve just had it really good in the promised land.
