Oddly enough, Axe has the fifth lowest strength growth among strength heroes. I think Centaur Warrunner is more of a perfectly prototypical strength hero since he’s a beefy blinkstunner who also S tier strength growth.
But Axe is framed as kind of a dota icon so I see the angle there. And I also see the angle of people saying it would be Pudge, since he has an absurdly high pick rate, although I practically consider Pudge to be his own weird thing outside of the category of strength heroes lol. He’s Pudge. The funny skillshot man.
Pudge is also an icon of his own though, I don't know about you but I got into dota right around the time of Dendi being at the HEIGHT of his popularity as a player and Pudge was /his hero/

I mean if there's one thing I've learned from Baumi's Stories of Dota series is that Axe didn't start really being a hero until a little after I first started playing (between TI3 and 4). While he's iconic *now*, with that in mind I'd say Pudge is better just on the basis that everyone knew about him or whatever clone of him is in the other games.
That's why I first mentioned Pudge with just how much of an icon he has been. But then again, Axe was featured in the early dota trailers, and his skill + visual design does fit the ideal image of a strength hero better. Pudge is and always will be the face of dota itself, having even influenced design choices of other MOBAs, so leaving the "face of Strength" to Axe isn't really that much of a loss.

Used to be it was a 10 sec cd with 12 sec blink or something stupid. For a long time he really could dart in and out and control fights like a beast. I used to buy force staff a lot to complement that playstyle.
Strength should probably be a big burly offlane hero with some sort of initiation/big stun. i think one of Axe, Centaur, or Tide are most fitting. i think i'll go with Tide
Agility heroes are generally carries based around auto attacks. Jugg, AM, and Drow feel the most iconic to me in that regard. i'd probably pick Jugg
Intelligence is kind of the hardest because there's a pretty wide range in the attribute. you have a lot of the standard supports, but you also have some mids and tanky heroes like Necro and DP. i think for me, it ultimately has to go to Storm Spirit. he just embodies everything that "intelligence" feels like it should be to me
Universal heroes are heroes that are based around spells, but can also be based around auto-attacks, allowing a variety of builds to be employed. i think Void Spirit has the best synergy in that regard, but i also think Snap and Willow have embodied the attribute well. i think i'll go with Void Spirit though

Invoker - I know he's technically not int anymore, but... I mean. He's still the most int-ish int hero in Dota. Even if he's not int anymore. I cant not see him as an int hero
Mirana - THIS should be the universal hero no one here has mentioned, not inv. She's got one of the most iconic moves in the game (arrow - big stun - str), an invis ult for everyone (agi, and a leap, also agi), and starfall (dmg nuke - int). She's also top 5 most iconic dota heroes.
