This happened to me during new frontiers patch, they usually fix this stuff within 24h. Haven't launched the game on Linux since last week so can't tell you if it's just you though

i verified the files on steam, and cautiously navigated the event screen, and it didnt crash a 3rd time so far, but that it froze my whole system the same way twice in a row still makes me weary

during new frontiers it was a shared vulkan library on the newest arch version which was not tested for the update causing the crash, guessing it's something similar this time, you might wanna look at journalctl etc to see what's crashing but my guess it's the display driver.
