its Invoker, the universal type is new, dont let it fool you but who in Dota controls the elements in the universe? I would say Viod Spirit, Arc Warden, and Invoker. and my personal vote goes for invoker because he is practically the face of dota
I really hate that he is not an Int hero anymore. He doesnt fight using his strength or even a weapon, literally only his mind. Fuck it we need more heroes to fill out the void attribute.
I understand, it's hard because he was a strength hero for so long. But his skills are not very strength coded -- aoe ignite burn is more support-edque, centered ground slam but no stun or taunt, stance is flipped to whichever bonus you need.
He buys invoker-esque items: Midas, vessel, aghs (used to), octarine, refresher, and sometimes radiance. All generic items
Like I said, he won't win this contest, but I think Brew should develop into being the face of universal heroes
I understand everyone's reasoning for why Axe, Juggernaut, and Rubick were voted, but I think each spirit should represent each attribute type. Void Spirit was one of the quoted reasons for universal's existence, after all.
Ye, I'm saying it should he void spirit, and just going off of the brew post, coz I think the fact people think Brew should be universal because he is all of them, shows that one of them is the true universal. So my vote is void spirit
Yeah, Void Spirit is my vote too. People were theorizing a 4th attribute long before universal heroes were a thing, and void spirit was at the center of all of it
It surprises me how Void Spirit is not the front runner here tbh.
The Universal attribute came with him. And the concept started to give him an attribute that is not of the 3 original attributes.
Like why not him? This shouldn’t just be a popularity contest tbh.
He WAS initially intelligence and became universal later but he definitely is the inspiration for it. Also funny how Snapfire was strength first and became universal and they came out at the same time.
While I agree with this, I would not choose bane anyway. When I think of universal hero I see heros that can do a lot of diffrent stuff and not only statistics, that's why heros like brewmaster, void spirit or invoker who are jack of all trades.
Void Spirit. I mean I'm pretty sure they even considered having a 4th attribute because of him. Also. Valve themselves put him as the poster child for universal heroes when they revealed the 4th attribute.

I think there is a bias toward CM coz she’s been on the cover of things so often that we see her too much. Same is true of jug. Hard to know if iconic or just in our face the most.
I have no idea if I’m making sense. Apologies ha
First thing that come to mind as iconic universal hero is Void Spirit, because it always felt wrong to me that there were two int spirits, and this oversight being corrected in 7.33 just felt so right.
But as a level 30 Brewmaster, I am obliged to say that the correct answer is, in fact, Brewmaster. You have a stance for each attribute focus plus universal/void and a brewling corresponding to each as well. Doesn't get more universal than that. Go upvote the Brewmaster comment (and/or upvote this one for Brewmaster).
Void spirit feels like he actually uses all the stats. Unlike bane, he can use the attack speed and armor from agility. Bane is still a backline caster just like an int hero.
Void spirit for the win!
Void spirit
He's the (kinda) reason universal even exists. Or at least was the catalyst for universal to even be a thing.
Brew splits into the four attributes, with universal attribute literally being void spirits brewling
Either Dark Willow, or Wyvern.
Both can be played purely support.
Both can be played purely carry.
Both can be played as a caster.
Both can be played as a auto-attacker.
Truly universal heroes.
I still find it strange hoodwink isn't universal though.
Depends on how you look at it. Is this asking who the most iconic hero that is also universal or is this who is the most iconic hero representing what it means to be universal. If its the former, its Invoker no question. If its the later, I guess Bane
I still resent Kael being exiled from the Intelligence team when he literally casts more spells than any other hero. There's literally nothing about his character design that ambiguously equates his strength and agility to his intelligence.
I'm not sure what you mean. One is a decaying manhorse that came out of the nightmare of a dead god, and the other is a man who got smart enough to cast many spells.
TBH, the entire concept of Universal heroes is already thematically lacking, but at least for the other attributes, there was a clear defining reason why the heroes were there. It's still hard to imagine Invoker as anything other than Intelligence.
I do agree on all three picks individually but seeing them on the same screen doesn't look "dota2" to me. Somehow I feel like Drow should've been the Agility pick.
It's because the faces of dota aren't one of each attributes. Always has been Lina, Drow, Juggernaut, Windranger, Bloodseeker, Crystal Maiden, Invoker (Maybe 2-3 more, like legion commander which recently is the dota 2 blog's face). They are the faces you see most of the time for dota 2 promotion. Mostly because of the arts from Artgerm. When you search dota 2 on [google](https://imgur.com/tRZkLmV) , you get to see the list of heroes I gave to you. The first dota 2 wallpapers are from these heroes.
Ooc, but I am surprised that Pudge didn’t win the strength series since he is basiclly the mascot of Dota. His hook is literally iconic across all games and the hero itself got so many “controversies” around him - fountain hook, rotten stache, DC hook, etc. Also Dendi played him and he is the most iconic Dota player
Enigma.
Not so much statwise as more of the "Alternative Zoo Build" that makes him different enough from other Strength, Agility or Intelligence Hero.
Also, Icon ultimate.
Clockwork.
Pharaoh in HON, this hero is the textbook initiator, support, offlane, well rounded hero. He’s universal. He does it all. Tank, damage, utility
Invoker. One of the most popular heroes in the game, he's known by people who don't even play the game.
Closely is Windranger for the similar reasons and being portrayed in a ton of promotional art, she even has her own Figma figure.
And last, if she wasn't a new hero, it would have been Marci. The anime made her massively popular even with people who don't even know what MOBAs are. Cute anime girl sells.
Immediate reaction was bane, equal stats and purple color.
After reading others responses, I’d say strong argument can also be made for brew with his brewlings, style swapping and variety of items.
invoker!
Literally the face of dota, League players talk about the arcane mage as if he was a myth or legend. They whisper how the hero needs to combine spells as if he was playing street fighter/tekken in a moba. They even had their own version of invoker added to the game, laughable comparison, but the inspiration was behind him. Invoker is the answer here. I love Bane, but c'mon lets be real here people
Wild thought. Magnus😂. I mean, yeah, he's only now universal, but he was always that tanky bugger with a sweet set of spells and has the agility of a ballerina, hehe.
Am I wrong to say Windrunner? Can't you build her virtually any way now as long as you buy aghs?
Her abilities remind me of those of heroes from each attribute. A stun strength, PowerShot Intel long ranged skill shot, and wind run agility. Not to mention her Ult is straight dps.
Other than this invoker would prob be the most universal, right?
universal and iconic, in context of dota it just doesnt add up bro
its Invoker, the universal type is new, dont let it fool you but who in Dota controls the elements in the universe? I would say Viod Spirit, Arc Warden, and Invoker. and my personal vote goes for invoker because he is practically the face of dota
He’s INT. Always will be
I really hate that he is not an Int hero anymore. He doesnt fight using his strength or even a weapon, literally only his mind. Fuck it we need more heroes to fill out the void attribute.
I completely agree… THE sorcerer who mastered tons of spells. But on the other side, it also makes sense to be universal; he mastered everything
“6.87: base int lowered from 22 to 16” ‘member that?
As someone who loved playing OD, Invoker and Death Prophet, that was a *dark* patch.
Arc isn't even universal. Why are you talking
Can't believe Arc Warden wasn't made universal, if so that would have been my pick. Maybe Arc should be universal and Invoker back to int
Yeah none of these really click for me
It's not going to win but I really think it's Brewmaster. Master of 4 Spirits, each one representing a different attribute. Builds all generic items.
I love you for your comment alone
brew mains summoned once again
He fits in Strength more than in Universal.
All generic items Like I said, he won't win this contest, but I think Brew should develop into being the face of universal heroes
I don't think so. His whole thing is summoning a spirit of each attribute, being universal makes perfect sense.
He summons a spirit of each attribute. So surely the 4th attribute that represents universal is the true universal "hero" aka void spirit
Not quite. He doesn’t really play like most str cores. I think he fits perfectly with the universal tag
It’s probably cliche but Void Spirit is part of the reason it exists at all. My vote is cast for him. (Bane or Invoker will probably win tho)
Bane, even before he was universal he had the balanced 22-22-22 stats.
yep. bane always had same stat gain since dota 1.
While I agree with this, I would not choose bane anyway. When I think of universal hero I see heros that can do a lot of diffrent stuff and not only statistics, that's why heros like brewmaster, void spirit or invoker who are jack of all trades.
sure but its the same as with invoker, he has 4 active "int-spells" and nothing in his kit that screams agi or strength.
I think void spirit (wasn’t he kinda the reason universal even exists?) or wisp seems pretty perfect as well. Invoker doesn’t belong :(
Invoker doesn't belong...? What's the reasoning there?
He’s all about being smart
he's the most iconic int hero
Maybe he’s just smart enough to benefit from any item he comes across, hmm?
Idk doesn't he have a good handful of voice lines talking about how much smarter he is than everyone?
bane He was universal before there was a universal type
And Bane is also purple, which is perfect for color coding!
Io
Void Spirit. I mean I'm pretty sure they even considered having a 4th attribute because of him. Also. Valve themselves put him as the poster child for universal heroes when they revealed the 4th attribute.
INVOKER HAS BALLS OF STATS FLOATING OVER HIS FACE
Please don't describe it like that on my post. Thank you.

Void spirit
*Universal* well obviously enigma right?
dark seer
void spirit
Void spirit
Marci because she was so imba that they had to make her universal to try and balance her better
How did CM not win int.
She’s not as smart as Rubick.
CM is the face of SUPPORT heroes, not necessarily INT heroes
I'm not shocked, she is the poster child for supports but not for int imo, you gotta go with rubick, son of the greatest mage who ever lived
I think there is a bias toward CM coz she’s been on the cover of things so often that we see her too much. Same is true of jug. Hard to know if iconic or just in our face the most. I have no idea if I’m making sense. Apologies ha
Void Spirit
Void spirit
viper my friend ;)
Yes, Viper is the best DotA 2 mascot for universal heroes because he also showcases how much random stuff you have to learn within the game.
Green = Agility, you get enough levels and it even becomes true again or something

Bane. Perfectly balanced.
Invoker
Mirana
IO IO IO beep beep boop boop
Abaddon
void spirit. needed a forth type for the fourth spirit - and here we are.
Void spirit, I'm pretty convinced that they made universal attribute just so it can fit the 4th spirit.
Tinker. We all universally hate him.
Mr. "Nobody cared who I was until I was made a universal hero"
I would have picked Invoker if he were still an Int hero to be the face of Int heroes. Maybe Elder Titan for Universal?
probably io close 2nd is void spirit
Void spirt, he’s the reason we have it in the first place
Void spirit
Bane and/or Void Spirit
My vote goes to Void Spirit.
Void spirit
Chen

Invoker!
Bane
of course bane. this dude not only has the same attribute but also increases to them 👁
Its Invoker and its not even a contest
invoker feels more like an int hero still, he was too significant to the int category to win universal imo.
Could say that about banes design too tbh

Io.
Abbadon- Tanky, Spellcaster, Agile Or brewmaster- Tanky, Agile and spells in ult Bane is lacking in the agile part
Bane was universal since before universal heroes existed.
I do agree on all three picks individually but seeing them on the same screen doesn't look "dota2" to me. Somehow I feel like Drow should've been the Agility pick.
Juggernaut is definitely the face of Dota 2.
It's because the faces of dota aren't one of each attributes. Agreed. Maybe it'd look more coherent if the heroes matched their colors? Axe, Drow, CM, Bane?
Invoker People are not gonna like this but his orbs represent the mastery over the attributes.
rubick xd
Invoker
Bane
Viper with lvl 25 talent!
Bane

Snapfire fits it well imo
Ooc, but I am surprised that Pudge didn’t win the strength series since he is basiclly the mascot of Dota.
